This study has for thematic the adolescence in conflict with the law, specifically a
study of adolescents receiving by socio-educational internment. Anchored on the
theories of sociology of absences, which aims to guarantee that the nonexistent is
actually built out of existence; the theory of public invisibility that means the social
visibility as a condition of the affirmation of human nature; and the theory of resilience
that conceives the overcoming the adversities of life as the end product of a process
of interaction between the subject and protection mechanisms available to it, this
multiple case study aims to analyze how possible resilience processes experienced
by adolescents receiving by socio-educational internment do or do not interfere
processes of re-social-educational system, from the experience of three adolescents
in recividism and three teenagers who went through the UNIS and don`t commit
another crime. The main results of this survey indicate that socio-educational
internment is shown as a risk rather than protection of the adolescent, that because
all respondents to the significance of the experience was just suffering. What
differentiates, perversely, the paths of adolescents who re-offend or not the fragile
protection mechanisms outside the state. In this sense, the role of the family during
and after the socio-educational internment, religion and the technical defense that
was available to adolescents in the judicial process. It was possible, therefore, that all
adolescents interviewed demonstrated the will to overcome adversity, however, only
those who are not reoccur protection mechanisms that could support such a
decision.

Previous issue date: 2007-12-13 / Nurses, according to different studies, in their daily life, are
submitted to a number of adversities by the conditions and organization of work
which may break out stress and sickness symptoms. The purpose of this study
is to investigate the possibility of promoting the resilience process in nurses at a
university hospital, and specifically, to investigate their life quality and possible
indicators of Nurses Resilience, as well as, to propose and evaluate a group
intervention process as a possibility of providing resilience. Fifty one nurses of a
university hospital have participated in the study. Although the research
delineation has been qualitative, quantitative strategies have also been used,
aiming the enhancement of the qualitative data. Quantitative data were
collected by the Life Quality Scale (WHOQOL-bref) of WHO (WHOQOL
GROUP test, 1998, FLECK and COLS, 1999), the RQ Test) from Reivich &
Shatté (2002), as well as the socio-demographic data files. The quantitative
data were collected by means of the focal group. The results analysis had as a
theoretical referential the Social-Historic Psychology and the analysis
technique, the signification nuclei proposed by Aguiar & Ozella (2006) who have
assisted in the construction of a signification net, toward the proposed
objectives. Thus, three nuclei emerged: the first named: I am a nurse, I never
give up presented as the average for the emotions regulation factors,
optimism, Causal analysis, empathy, self- efficacy and Exposition both in the
pre-intervention and the post intervention: the second nucleus, Where is my
energy? , is different from the first nucleus as to the Emotions Regulation and
had scored under the average in pre and post intervention, and the third As
Hardys: oh life, oh bad luck presented itself in all factors under the average,
exception made to the Causal Analysis in which the score was in the average
after the intervention. In the factor Impulses Control there was no difference
between the three nuclei all of them scored above the average. Thus, the
subjects of the first nucleus can be considered resilient subjects, the second, as
going through a re(constructive) process, and the third, as extremely
pessimistic, non resilient subjects deserving more attention by the Institution. As
to the second objective of this study the promotion of the resilience process
by group intervention process it was observed that it was not completely
fulfilled which gives some indicators for further studies / As enfermeiras, de acordo com diversos estudos, estão submetidas
emergiram: o primeiro denominado Sou enfermeira: não desisto nunca ;
Análise Causal, Empatia, Auto-eficácia e Exposição tanto na pré como na pósintervenção;

Practice guidelines for social workers to foster and sustain family resilienceMoss, Susara Maria 12 1900 (has links)
Although the White Paper on Families (2013) stipulates that family resilience should be strengthened in family preservation services, no guidelines exist for social workers in the South African context to do so. A need for practice guidelines for social workers in rendering services to families to strengthen family resilience was identified. The following central research question was formulated: How and by doing what, can social workers foster and sustain family resilience?
The Intervention Design and Development (IDD) model of Rothman and Thomas (1994) was adapted for the study which included qualitative research to explore and describe the understanding, experiences and suggestions of social workers on family resilience for informing the family resilience intervention guidelines. Data was collected through focus- group and face-to-face semi-structured interviews with social workers employed by the Department of Social Development, and the NGOs from Gauteng, North West and Limpopo province. Tesch’s steps (cited in Creswell 2009:186) were used to analyse the data systematically and data was verified by Guba’s model (cited in Krefting 1991:214–222). Implementing steps 1–5 of phase 1, steps 1–3 of phase 2, step 2 of phase 3 and steps 1–3 of phase 4 of the IDD model, “Practice Guidelines for Social Workers to foster and sustain Family Resilience” (“The Guidelines”) were developed by translating the family resilience theory into practice to guide social workers to be able to develop and implement a family resilience intervention. The content of “The Guidelines” include an introduction containing the social work service delivery principles, the theoretical approaches of service delivery to families and the legislative and policy framework for services to families that would underpin a family resilience intervention. Section 1 of “The Guidelines” was developed and structured around the understanding of the family resilience construct and the family resilience process model on how family resilience operates. Section 2 of “The Guidelines” is presented in a question and answer format. This section provides practical guidelines on how to identify the target group for family resilience interventions, the reciprocal relationship between individual resilience and family resilience, family resilience interventions following the social work intervention process (i.e. intake, developmental assessment, a family developmental plan, and intervention strategies in accordance with the basket of services for families and monitoring and evaluation), how to integrate the domains of family resilience into the family resilience intervention, the need for education of both the social worker and client family on family resilience, the multi-dimensional aspects of the family requiring a multi-disciplinary approach and the role that the safety of family members play when rendering a family resilience intervention. / Social Work / D.
