Study of The Effect of The Policy of Industry¡¦s Heading West to China on The Inclination to Retain for Oversea Dispatching Staff - - To Take C Company as An Example

Lin, Shih-wei 19 August 2007 (has links)
In terms of global TFT-LCD industry, the most important competitors for Taiwan TFT-LCD industry are Korean Samsung & LG Philips (LPL) at present. To compete with them, it becomes one of the important strategies to work with Mainland China as working partners. The development of ¡§strategy of heading west to China¡¨ becomes the most direct way to reduce cost & maintain business. When managers prudently evaluate industry¡¦s heading west to China, how to reduce the conflict faced by the enterprise & employees is becoming one of the important issues for experts & enterprises recently. Referring to the interimportance & the interdependence of the criteria items that the experts selected in evaluation of the inclination to detain for oversea dispatching staff, AHP was applied to compare the interimportance of the clusters, and then ANP was applied to compare the interdependence of the clusters, and the expert questionnaires were collected. The interimportance of the questionnaires was calculated through AHP, and the interdependence was calculated through ANP in order to construct the weighting system of the inclination to detain for oversea dispatching staff, as the reference to the policy of oversea dispatch for the subject company. It can increase the scientific factors for human decisions. Data of C Company was analyzed through ANP & the findings were as follows. 1. The weight of all the criteria items for the effect of the policy of heading west to China on the inclination to detain for oversea dispatching staff. Criteria Item Weight Individual Factor Working Pressure 9.54% 59.82% Career Development 28.13% Individual Inclination 22.15% Organizational Factor Leadership 12.27% 40.18% Dispatch System 10.73% Supporting System 13.36% Organizational Culture 3.81% Total 100.00% 2. The Company should put primary stress on employees¡¦ career development. 3. In terms of increase in individual inclination, it becomes the primary consideration for supporting the policy of oversea dispatch that the company assists the employee family.

Allvarlig lek : Ett experiment i att ta träningsmoment i underhållningsspel på allvar / Serious play : An experiment in taking training stages in entertainment games seriously

Nordgren, Linus January 2009 (has links)

Intrapreneurship and corporate entrepreneurship - Attractive concepts for Generation Y?

Ingelstedt, Jens, Jönsson, Mikaela, Sundman, Helena January 2009 (has links)
Purpose: This thesis uses a case study approach. The purpose is to conduct a critical review of the potentiality of intrapreneurship/corporate entrepreneurship to create an attractive workplace that 1) draws Generation Y as potential employees, and 2) retains them by satisfying their demands, unlocking their full potential through motivation. Background: It is now time for Generation Y to enter the workforce and their values and expectations on the workplace is different from the generations before them. This causes difficulties for organisations to attract and retain Generation Y but it is necessary in order to become a competitive performer in the future. In order to attract and retain Generation Y companies need to motivate their employees, foster and encourage creativity, and create an exciting work environment. This can be done through corporate entrepreneurship/ intrapreneurship and it is therefore interesting to see how Generation Y responds to this concept as well as if it contributes in creating an attractive workplace. Method: The authors made use of a mixed method concurrent triangulation strategy within an explorative sequential design. Where qualitative data was gathered through an explorative pre-study and then through case studies with two companies, simultaneously quantitative data was collected through surveys and the study ended with a qualitative confirmatory study where the results of the analysis was tested against a third company. Conclusion: The result of the study indicated that the companies investigated all had a high level of corporate entrepreneurship, it was also confirmed that Generation Y are suited to become intrapreneurs and that they would feel attracted and more likely to retain in an organisation that promotes intrapreneurship. It was furthermore concluded that corporate entrepreneurship contributes in creating an attractive workplace also for non-intrapreneurs.

The Analysis to the Influence of the System for Government Employees to Retain the Job but Suspend the Salary in Relation to Household Concerns: A Case Study on the Employees of Chiayi County Government

Lee, Wen-ying 16 October 2008 (has links)
With the rapid change of society, economy, education, and science & technology, and following the gradual crack of world, national boundaries, races and classes, modern women are stepping out their footsteps to open up the equal-rights reform for the two sexes, which reveals their different journey of life from the traditional women. Due to the social advancement, the trend of double salary for a family¡¦s income has prevailed, so it is very popular for women to enter the job field. Consequently, the situation starts the issue of equal rights between the opposite sexes. Looking into the contemporary job market, one can see that women are mistreated. For example, first, in the job field, they have to keep higher attempted motivation, more sufficient ability and stronger physical strength to compete with men. Then, they still have to play the major role of labor supplier for their families, that is, they have to deal with all the housework after they return home from work, which adds a ¡§second duty shift¡¨ to their responsibilities. Therefore, the double-folded responsibilities of both working hard in the office and taking well care of the family create a predicament to modern women who are like ¡§a candle burning at two ends.¡¨ As a result, modern women have to bear more responsibilities and heavier burdens than the traditional women do in the field of business affair and family matter. Since May 20, 1997, the government has stipulated, released, and implemented ¡§The Method for Government Employees to Retain the Job but Suspend the Salary¡¨. The method has been revised for four times until now. According to the statistics from the Ministry of Civil Service, there are 538 government employees who retain the jobs and suspend the salaries due to the reasons of ¡§nursing the babies,¡¨ ¡§waiting upon the parents,¡¨ and ¡§the severe injuries and sickness of the spouses and children.¡¨ Among them, male government officials are 86 persons (15.99%) while females are 452 (84.01%), that is, women¡¦s are 5.3 times as much as men¡¦s. Is the meaning in which the data show closely related to the situation that women are traditionally the main housework suppliers? In succession, what influence will it make for the future career development of the female government officials? I as a female government official feel very curios to this question and then become interested to it, so I set about my research into it. My research is centered on documental survey adopting the ¡§Analytical Approach of the Statistic Data on Government Employees to Retain the Job but Suspend the Salary¡¨ from the Ministry of Civil Service. My case objects of study are sampled from Chiayi County. They are nine Government employees who have retained the job but suspended the salary all because of the ¡§family cause.¡¨ My approach is to interview them with depth to see their experience and opinions, and following their thoughts, I probe into the problems and analyze the questions to study. My study discovers a fact that although the government employees work at a rather stable-income position, at the time of major events in the family, like ¡§nursing the babies,¡¨ ¡§waiting upon the parents,¡¨ and ¡§the severe injuries and sickness of the spouses and children,¡¨ they still hold the stereotype of the traditional concept of ¡§men dominate outside, women dominate inside¡¨ to deal with the problem, despite the condition that they already have the strong support from the government issued ¡§The Method for Government Employees to Retain the Job but Suspend the Salary,¡¨ since they are limited by gender discrimination and social recognition. Even though the trend of double salary for a family¡¦s income has prevailed, women still have to play the major role of labor supplier for their families, so female government employees are forced to retain the job and suspend the salary which may influence their promotion in the future career in the government. Therefore, the uneven relationship between the two sexes in family matters has greatly affected their future progress in private life and public service. ¡§The Method for Government Employees to Retain the Job but Suspend the Salary¡¨ surely serves as a buffer when the swing of choice between public affair and family matter comes. However, a complete set of rights and interests for the people who retain the job but suspend the salary is not established. For instance, they cannot participate in annual merit system to evaluate their efficiency of work, their seniority will be suspended, and their allowance for marriage, birth, and children¡¦s education will be cut short. Therefore, from the social welfare¡¦s point of view, I sincerely hope that our government should issue a perfect plan for women to balance their responsibilities for work and family.

The effects of grade-level retention in the early grades

Sigafoos, Lisa Lynne 15 April 2014 (has links)
Policies are increasing the pressure for students to gain grade-level mastery. For example, federal legislation mandates that all children are able to read by third grade. This increased demand on teachers and schools has lead to more students being retained, especially in the early grades. Researchers have studied the effectiveness of retention, in the early elementary grades, in order to establish the immediate and later effects on academics, behavior development, and special education participation. Through an extensive search and analysis it was determined that retention has a largely negligible impact on student performance and has been unsuccessful in closing the achievement gap. Implications, limitations, and future research are discussed. / text

Talent management : An illustration through sports

Íñigo Pascual, Aguirre, Manke, Andreas January 2014 (has links)
The word talent is becoming more important nowadays in a world where every-thing is getting globalizing. Along this thesis, the authors take a close look to the definition of talent and the role of the talent management theory. It is also mentioned other topics such as knowledge management and human resources management, and how both are connected to talent management through tal-ent itself. This process is mainly structured in three key elements: To find, develop and retain a talent. During the whole process, the concept of leader-ship and leader will be present. The authors use the world of sports as illus-tration to make the talent management and leadership topics more visible to the reader. Several experts were interviewed from different fields and with their knowledge and experiences, Íñigo and Andreas come to the final conclusion where it can be appreciated how business can learn and beneficiate from sports and vice versa.

Retain : Vad motiverar chefer i en kunskapsintensiv bransch att stanna inom sin aktuella organisation

Dahlqvist, Ellinor, Johannesen, Veronica January 2018 (has links)
