Para isso, analisamos a maneira como Bolaño ficcionaliza os mecanismos de poder em três romances específicos: Estrella distante, Amuleto e Nocturno de Chile. Nossa intenção foi explorar a representação da violência nesses romances, a fim de estabelecer ligações entre política e cultura, literatura e sociedade, violência e poder, concebidas de maneira única na estética narrativa deste autor. / This dissertation’s purpose was to analyze how the fictional narrative of the Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño crosses political issues, related to periods of dictatorship in Latin America, highlighting the role of violence as a mean maintainer of power, in attempt to show the permanence of these issues nowadays. For this, we analyze how Bolaño fictionalizes the mechanisms of power in three specific novels: Estrella distante, Amuleto and Nocturno de Chile. Our intention was exploring the portrayal of violence in these novels, in order to establish links between politics and culture, literature and society, violence and power, designed in a uniquely aesthetic way in this author’s narrative. / El objetivo de esta disertación fue analizar el modo cómo la narrativa ficcional del escritor chileno Roberto Bolaño atraviesa cuestiones de orden político, relacionadas a los períodos dictatoriales en Latinoamérica, destacando el rol de la violencia como medio de manutención del poder, en un intento de mostrar la permanencia de estas cuestiones en la contemporaneidad. Para tanto, analizamos la manera como Bolaño ficcionaliza los mecanismos de poder en tres novelas específicas: Estrella distante, Amuleto y Nocturno de Chile. Nuestra intención fue explorar la representación de la violencia en estas novelas, a fines de establecer vínculos entre política y cultura, literatura y sociedad, violencia y poder, planteadas de manera única en la estética narrativa de este autor.

This dissertation intends to analyse the architectural work of the brothers Marcelo, Milton and Maurício Roberto done in Rio de Janeiro between 1936 and 1954. This period embraces one of the most important moments in the history of Brazilian architecture, being at the same time a research area where the absence of theoretical and critical investigations must be faced. This is one of the purposes of this work. The analysis is centered in the building and its processes of configuration, trying to unfold the theoretical and methodological contents of the project, wich arises from the comprehension and interpretation of the building as material reality. Some representative works of M.M.M. Roberto were selected and through its description and analysis some conclusions were formulated in relation to the originality of the contributions and the connections with the architectural context in Brazil at that time. The international references are mainly related to the work of Le Corbusier and the influence of French academic tradition. The results intend to prove the significance of the works of M.M.M. Roberto as a design experience in the context of Brazilian modern arcgitecture between 1930 and 1960.

Na seguinte dissertação é desenvolvida uma aproximação à obra de Mario Roberto Álvarez parcializada em função de suas edificações de densidade em altura em Buenos Aires e limitada a um tipo de explicação projetual baseada na hipótese de que a produção desenvolvida por Álvarez, por sua extensão e transcendência, é capaz de aportar um conhecimento do projeto arquitetônico vital para entender o desenvolvimento da arquitetura moderna, sua relação com a cidade e sua vigência como uma arquitetura importante para o presente. O trabalho dedica as primeiras páginas ao desenvolvimento e exposição de uma metodologia de investigação do projeto e à apresentação do arquiteto em questão e sua obra dentro do contexto histórico e cultural em que se acha inserta. A partir do terceiro capítulo se estabelece uma seleção de suas obras mais significativas para esta aproximação, são analisadas uma por uma e se desenvolve uma reflexão teórica de caráter geral e relacional entre todas elas. Para o desenvolvimento da análise e das reflexões foi utilizado, como ferramenta de conhecimento, o próprio sistema de projeto, buscando estabelecer um conhecimento que surja a partir do diálogo permanente entre projeto e pensamento. Finalmente, o trabalho foi julgado como uma aproximação inicial a um campo de reflexão teórica do projeto, ligado à realidade da arquitetura moderna latinoamericana e, em particular, à experiência desenvolvida na Argentina. / In the following dissertation there is a development of an approach to Mario Roberto Álvarez' work partialized in relation to its buildings of density in height in Buenos Aires and delimited to an explanation from the projection point of view. This explanation is based on the hypothesis that the production developed by Álvarez, for its extension and transcendence, is capable of providing knowledge about the architectonic project, vital to understand the development of modern architecture, its relationship with the city and its validity as a major architecture for the present. The work dedicates its first pages to the development and statement of the project research methodology and to the introduction of the architect in question and his work within the historical and cultural context in which it is inserted. From the third chapter on, there is a selection of his most significant works for this approach, they are analyzed one by one and there is a development of a theoretical meditation of a general and a relational character, among all of them. For the analysis and meditation development, the knowledge tool used was the project system itself, looking for the setting up of knowledge arising from the permanent dialogue between project and thoughts. Finally, the work is assessed as an initial approach to a field of theoretical thought of the project connected to the reality of Latin American modern architecture and in particular, the experience developed in Argentina.

A primeira se refere às tentativas políticas utópicas que tiveram a adesão da esquerda latino-americana, cujo maior expoente se deu no Chile na década de 1970, violentamente oprimidas pelas ditaduras. E a segunda diz respeito aos movimentos e produções das vanguardas literárias que ocorreram no continente, mas que perderam sua força propositiva. A partir da abordagem dos contextos referenciados pela sua narrativa e formadores do autor e de sua geração, tratou-se de considerar como Roberto Bolaño e sua obra se inserem nos dois campos acima abordados. Acredita-se que o caminho encontrado pelo autor para lidar com os dois fracassos foi o da elaboração estética. Por tal, esta pesquisa procedeu à análise do tratamento dado à imagem, ao tempo e ao fragmento em sua narrativa, elementos tão caros à modernidade. O cinema foi tomado por este estudo como uma arte de diálogo para viabilizar a análise dos três elementos acima mencionados, sempre os relacionando com as condições históricas, sociais e culturais que marcam os caminhos do autor e de sua narrativa.
