Vlastní tvary vírového proudění / Eigenmodes of the swirling flow

This thesis deals with study of dynamics of the swirling flow. The swirling flow occurs frequently in hydraulic machinery (e.g., vortex rope in draft tube of the hydraulic turbine) and often influences operation of these machines. For this reason, sufficient knowledge regarding this characteristic flow is necessary for subsequent improvement of hydraulic machines. The theoretical part of this thesis contains description of flow instabilities and their manifestations, notably Kármán vortex street and vortex rope. In the next part, two methods are applied to these two transient flows in order to identify their specific dynamic properties. The first method, Fourier transform, enables to find frequencies of transient flow. The second method, proper orthogonal decomposition (POD), enables to identify planar or spatial eigenmodes of a specific swirling flow. Proper orthogonal decomposition is used in this thesis to identify planar eigenmodes of Kármán vortex street and spatial eigenmodes of vortex rope.

In this diploma thesis called Water column separation under the hydraulic turbine runner during unsteady operating regimes are solved the pressure pulsations of the reverse water hamer. In the thesis is deduced a mathematical relationship of elaboration the numerice model which is based on equations of continuity and equations of forces equilibrium. Numerical model is created in MS Excel uses for computation the numerical method Lax-Wendrof that allows consideration of variable sound speed as function of static pressure and allows variable lenght step in computation domain. Reverse water hammer is in the thesis solved with consideration of rotating flow behind shut-off valve, where we expect forming of vortex rope. This situation can be applied on the closing water turbine which has vertex rope under turbine runner. Specifically for this thesis was carried out the experiment of the reverse water hammer. Constants going into numerical solution are optimalized with using experiment and pressure pulsation are compared between numerical solution and experiment.

In the practical part the analysis is applied to concrete examples of the use of unbuilt land, which is located in Brno-Kohoutovice on the street Libušina třída. The theoretical part describes and explains 4 basic hypotheses on which the HABU analysis is based (legal admissibility, physical possibility, financial merits and maximum profitability). The aim of this thesis is to determine which of the variants will be the most profitable, respectively, which will have the highest and the best use.

Stahldrahtseile haben sich aufgrund ihrer hohen Bruchkraft und Betriebssicherheit sowie langjähriger Erfahrungen als Übertragungs-, Verbindungs- und Sicherheitselemente in intermittierenden Förderern, wie Kranen und Aufzügen etabliert. Sie weisen jedoch Nachteile, wie hohe Eigenmasse, geringe Biegeelastizität und Korrosionsempfindlichkeit auf. Steigende Anforderungen an ein energieeffizientes und ressourcenschonendes Betreiben von technischen Anlagen erfordern zunehmend neue Materialien, Technologien und Verfahren. Demzufolge rücken auch textile Maschinenelemente in Form von HM-HT-Faserseilen (engl.: high modulus - high tenacity) in den Fokus der Betrachtungen. Diese bieten aufgrund ihres günstigen Bruchkraft-Masse-Verhältnisses eine vielversprechende Alternative zu den Stahldrahtseilen. Mit den wachsenden Innovationen gehen jedoch auch neue Schadensfälle einher, da es an Erfahrungswerten und Langzeitstudien textiler Zug- und Tragmittel fehlt. Das umfassende Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, den Forschungsstand hinsichtlich des Verschleiß- und Alterungszustandes und Einflussgrößen auf die Lebensdauer und Kriterien zur Ablegereifeerkennung hochfester Faserseile zu erweitern. Hierfür wurde eine Herangehensweise zur Schadensanalyse sowie eine Kategorisierung von Schadensarten, Schadensursachen, Verschleiß- und Alterungserscheinungen von Faserseilen erarbeitet. Weiterhin erfolgte die Entwicklung neuer Prüfmethoden zur Ermittlung des Gebrauchszustandes der Lebensdauer und Ablegekriterien von laufenden Faserseilen auf Basis spezifischer visueller Verschleißerscheinungen sowie elektrisch leitfähiger Merkmale der Faserseile. / Steel wire ropes have a high breaking strength and operational reliability as well as many years of experience. For these reasons steel wire ropes are used as transmission, connection and safety elements in intermittent conveyors, such as cranes and elevators. However, they have disadvantages such as high intrinsic mass, low bending elasticity and corrosion sensitivity. Increasing demands on energy-efficient and resource-efficient operation of technical systems require new materials, technologies and processes. Therefore, textile machine elements such as HM-HT fibre ropes (high modulus - high tenacity) are also in the focus of considerations. Due to their favorable breaking force-mass ratio fibre ropes offer a promising alternative to the steel wire ropes. However, new cases of damage also go hand in hand with the growing innovations. It lacks on experience and long-term studies of textile tensile elements. The aim of this study is to extend the state of research regarding of wear and ageing phenomena as well as influencing factors of the lifetime and discard criteria for high-strength fibre ropes. For these reasons an approach of a damage analysis for fibre ropes worked out. Furthermore new test methods to determine the state of use and define discard criteria of running fibre ropes developed and carried out.

How can we live and work with craft as people in an age of global climate crisis? What must we change in order to work empathically and in harmony with our surrounding world? While not in need to actively ensure our survival, it is easy for us to forget to stay humble to our own needs, thus taking our lives and our surroundings for granted. We forget our bodies and we forget the bodies of others, animals and objects alike. We forget that we need each other in order to become. This text is a complementary exploration in how awareness of the soul, body and Spirit may help bring back a balance that we've lost in town based cultures of the west. I am looking for balance as I twist fibre into thread and into rope and as I suspend rock- and human bodies into temporary sculptures. I look for inspiration in phenomenologist thought, alchemy, shamanism and daoism, as well as in the active making of craft and art. My work centers around telling stories, crafting and material exploration as well as bodily awareness and performance. In the work, body and material are synonymous concepts drifting in and out of each other, enabling and shaping each other, becoming together. I am looking to meet my surroundings not always on my own terms, but by changing, adapting and compromising myself. This helps bring an awareness that unites me with the bodies around me, placing me not above but amidst constant becomings.

中文摘要 有限離散條件分配相容性問題可依相容性檢驗、唯一性檢驗以及找出所有的聯合機率分配三層次來討論。目前的文獻資料有幾種研究方法,本文僅分析、比較其中的比值矩陣法和圖形法。 二維中,我們發現簡化二分圖的分支與IBD矩陣中的對角塊狀矩陣有密切的對應關係。在檢驗相容性時,圖形法只需檢驗簡化二分圖中的每個分支,正如同比值矩陣法只需檢驗IBD矩陣中的每一個對角塊狀矩陣即可。在檢驗唯一性時,圖形法只需檢驗簡化二分圖中的分支數是否唯一,正如同比值矩陣法只需檢驗IBD矩陣中的對角塊狀數是否唯一即可。在求所有的聯合機率分配時,運用比值矩陣法可推算出所有的聯合機率分配,但是圖形法則無法求出。 三維中,本文提出了修正比值矩陣法,將比值數組按照某種索引方式在平面上有規則地呈現,可降低所需處理矩陣的大小。此外,我們也發現修正比值矩陣中的橫直縱迴路和簡化二分圖中的迴路有對應的關係,因此可觀察出兩種方法所獲致某些結論的關聯性。在檢驗唯一性時,圖形法是檢驗簡化二分圖中的分支數是否唯一,而修正比值矩陣法是檢驗兩個修正比值矩陣是否分別有唯一的GROPE矩陣。修正比值矩陣法可推算出所有的聯合機率分配。 圖形法可用於任何維度中,修正比值矩陣法也可推廣到任何維度中,但在應用上,修正比值矩陣法比圖形法較為可行。 / The issue of the compatibility of finite discrete conditional distributions could be discussed hierarchically according to the compatibility, the uniqueness, and finding all possible joint probability distributions. There are several published methods, but only the Ratio Matrix Method and the Graphical Method are analyzed and compared in this thesis. In bivariate case, a close correspondence between the components of the reduced bipartite graph and the diagonal block matrices of the IBD matrix can be found. When we examine the compatibility, just as simply each diagonal block matrix of the IBD matrix needs to be examined using the Ratio Matrix Method, so does each component of the reduced bipartite graph using the Graphical Method. When we examine the uniqueness, just as whether the number of the diagonal blocks of the IBD matrix is unique needs to be examined, so does the number of the components of the reduced bipartite graph. The Ratio Matrix Method can provide all possible joint probability distributions, but the Graphical Method cannot. In trivariate case, this thesis proposes a Revised Ratio Matrix Method, in which we can present the ratio array regularly in the plane according to the index and reduce the corresponding matrix size. It is also found that each circuit in the revised ratio matrix corresponds to a circuit in the reduced bipartite graph. Therefore, the relation between the results of the two methods can be observed. When we examine the uniqueness with the Graphical Method, we examine whether the number of the components in the reduced bipartite graph is unique. But with the Revised Ratio Matrix Method, we examine whether each revised ratio matrix has a unique GROPE matrix. All possible joint probability distributions can be derived through the Revised Ratio Matrix Method. The Graphical Method can be applied to the higher dimensional cases, so can the Revised Ratio Matrix Method. But the Revised Ratio Matrix Method is more feasible than the Graphical Method in application.
