Architektura hry / Ludic architecture

Domiňáková, Michaela January 2020 (has links)
Thesis use principles of play to reconstruct school building realized in the second half of the 20th Century. More broadly it deals with current state and conditions for reconstruction of modernist school buildings in Slovakia. According to Huizinga, play as such is older than culture and was a factor that stimulated the creation of culture and assumed the formation of human society. Free play is an instinct, a fundamental right, inherent in children, and a developed mechanism for acquiring skills and promoting learning. In the early 20th century, in a context marked by the horrors of war and the experience of the wild industrialization of the 19th century, society began to focus on the rights and education of children. This change in approach to childhood and children in general has been transcribed into theoretical and practical forms of architecture, from the scale of urbanism to the scale of an element of public space or domestic space. The concept of play began to penetrate into forms of education. In connection with urban transformation and housing construction playground have been created, which function should be the one of an institutionalized space education, but also of security or control. The same principles of control were also included in the architecture of other institutions such as schools. Project understands reconstruction of the school building not only as its annex or aesthetization but rather as reconfiguration and reinterpretation of its former principles.

Conforto térmico no Colégio de Aplicação Pedagógica da Universidade Estadual de Maringá: proposta para melhoria do desempenho térmico de um antigo CAIC / Thermal Comfort in the Pedagogical College of the State University of Maringá: proposal for improving the thermal performance of an old CAIC

Goulart, Mariana Fortes 07 April 2014 (has links)
The Pedagogical College of the State University of Maringá (CAP/UEM) was part of a nationwide project created in the 1990s, the Centres for the Integral Care to Children and Adolescents - CAIC\'s. The initial design was concived by the architect João Filgueiras Lima (a.k.a. Lelé), acknowledged for his concern for the environmental comfort of users in his work. In general, it is known that the students have a better quality of learning when the spaces are well chilled, lighted and quiet. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the thermal comfort in the building of the CAP/UEM checking the performance of passive strategies of thermal comfort, thermal sensation of users and verifying the performance of a strategy, suggested by the architect Lelé in an interview for the author, to improve the thermal performance of the roof. The proposed methodology consists, initially, in a collection of the datas that stands out from the interview with the architect. Afterwards, it was made an analysis projectual in order to identify passive solutions to obtain thermal comfort, at the same time, to verify the work system of this project. To check the efficiency of these strategies it was apllied the Predicted Mean Vote Method (PMV), that envolve measurements of environmental variables concurrently with questionnaires applied to students during the summer time. Futher there, it was analized the thermal performance of the roof, throught out indoor and outdoor superficial temperature measurements, compared between three classrooms: one untouchable, another washed and the third one washed and white painted, suggested by the architect Lelé to improve thermal comfort of the building. The results indicate that the roof of the building causes huge thermal gain and unsatisfaction of the users all the time, damaging the comfort conditions within the building. This high level of uncomfortable can be explained by the lack of maintenance and the low thermal inertia of the system, especially the roof. The white paint of the roof has shown efficient to reduce the heating coming throughout the roof, highlighting the importance of radiant temperature for promotion of thermal comfort conditions in classrooms.

Design para o comportamento sustentável : proposta do EcoSticker para edificações escolares

Franceschini, Paula Brumer January 2018 (has links)
The user behaviour affects the environmental impact generated during the usage phase of buildings and products in general. Design for Sustainable Behaviour (DfSB) is an approach that focus on influence users to behave more sustainably through the product design. Although it has received attention particularly in the last two decades, few studies examined the effectiveness of such approach and apply it on school buildings. The application of DfSB strategies in school buildings can bring some benefits, once children have influence on their environment and on how adults behave. The goal of this study is to propose and test an artefact developed according to the DfSB strategies to create a school environment that leads to a more sustainable behaviour. First, behaviours on school buildings that affect the environmental impact were identified. Then, a toolkit for washrooms (EcoSticker) was proposed and implemented in two schools. The resources consumption (energy, toilet paper, paper towel and soap) prior and after the intervention was measured. Afterwards, interviews, questionnaires and a workshop were carried out to further understand the consumption data collected and users’ perception of the toolkit. The consumption of energy have decreased in both schools, demonstrating that the EcoSticker toolkit can change user behaviour positively. At the end, the potential benefits and constrains in applying DfSB strategies on school buildings were discussed.
