ABSTRACT In an educated society, the school constitutes the social institution that adds more differences and diversities. In this context, are the students with ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder Hyperactivity Disorder) which for don’t fit in the school environment requirements and standards are often labeled and stigmatized as problem students. These stigmatas can cause psycho-emotional impact on those who receive them in this particular case the student with ADHD, producing stigma and prejudice which might entail the constitution of the subjectivity of the student. Thus, this research has as main question: How research on schooling of students with ADHD approach the school and teacher’s speech about these students? Secondary issues brought for analysis are: How the student with ADHD is perceived by the school / teacher in the research carried out? How the discourse produced by the teacher in school can interfere with the construction of the subjectivity of these students? Thus, the general purpose of this research is to investigate, from previous studies, as the speeches made by the school / teacher about students with ADHD can interfere with construction of the subjectivity of these subjects. The methodology used in this study was a systematic review of the literature, having as reference source the database of theses and dissertations from the CAPES between the years 2011 to 2012. The discussion of the data was based on analysis methodology content, being raised three categories of analysis considering the recurring terms and characteristics in teachers' conceptions about ADHD: student inattentive / distracted; undisciplined student and student with limited interaction. The analysis of such discourses, based on the Historical-Cultural Theory, from authors such as Vygotsky; González Rey and Angel Pino, says that subjectivity consists not only as an individual intrapsychic organization, but as differentiated and simultaneous production of subjective senses in two closely related levels with each other, the individual and the social, so that it suffers interference teacher and school speech.

A Survey of Attitudes of Speech Teachers Toward Peer Evaluation in 4a and 5a High Schools in Texas

Hayslip, Gail D. (Gail Denise) 08 1900 (has links)
Two hundred questionnaires were sent to high school speech teachers in Texas to determine their attitudes toward peer evaluation, a method of critiquing speech class activities. Results indicated that these teachers are familiar with and use peer evaluation and that they do favor it as an evaluation technique. Women used peer evaluation more than men, and teachers with more experience used peer evaluation more than those less experienced. Peer evaluation was used most for speeches and oral interpretation and least for parliamentary procedure. Peer evaluation helps students learn the criteria upon which an oral presentation is evaluated, keeps the students busy, and helps the students become better listeners. Its values outweigh its drawbacks.

Práticas de narrativas escritas em estudantes do ensino fundamental / Written narrative practices in school children from elementary school.

Romano-Soares, Soraia 31 July 2007 (has links)
This research was developed according to the postulations of the action research and aimed to analyze the benefits of two Programs of Written Narrative Production in children from the third grade of an elementary school. The sample was composed by 60 school children from two third grades of a same State school of São Paulo. Fourteen weekly meetings were scheduled and one story from a child book was used per week. In the first group (Group A) the researcher read the selected story and in the second group (Group B) the same story was read combined with a written audiovisual resource, emphasizing dialogues markers through intonation and prosody. Then, each school children produced a written narrative based on the theme of the presented text. Before and after the Written Narrative Production Program, the school children developed free written productions from a proposed theme. The written productions were analyzed qualitative and quantitatively, characterizing a mixed research. The Communicative Competence criteria were adopted (Generic, Encyclopedia and Linguistic) adapted from the French linguist Maingueneau (2002). Data were classified and compared in the beginning and in the end of the program, and were statistically analyzed. It was observed that both groups of school children presented improvement in the narrative production. Comparing the two programs, both groups improved; Group B presented greater statistically significant improvement in the three communicative competences analyzed, especially in the Linguistic Competence. All school children benefited from both programs, including those who presented difficulties to develop written narratives. It was concluded that the combined reading program of child books was a more efficient strategy to assist the student to develop better written productions, since, besides being an event of exposition to literacy, it counts on prosodic resources that explore the linguistic complexity necessary to motivate the student to get involved with reading and textual production.

It examines some especifics of the meanings of type and race that the school subjects use to change experiences and understand as they are acting in this space and building their social reality through the language. It makes a map of the sayings on the questions of type and race through fountains symbolic, open interviews and observation of the school collective activities. It discusses the categories race, type and school, articulating the reflections about the social constructionism, the logic of the speech, of the relations of power and of the affirmation of identities in the play of the difference. It intends to demonstrate the social construction of the reality through the speech, examining the way like these phenomena can be considered constructive able to mould the identities and practices of the subjects, in a sense still performative, whose discursive practice produces effect with that it expresses. It questions systems of signification, from the process of attribution of senses with which the subjects represent the reality at the same time which they are for her represented. It had no preoccupation in pointing to the limits of the approach around the speech, but the whole concern was driven by the wish of understanding how the subjects mean and they are meant in social fact, making use of the verbal and non-verbal language.
