The present Master´s thesis deals with the concept of press drive of Blanking press LKDS 800 used for blanking in automatic blanking line. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the individual arrangements of press drives and servo press drives and to the description of main components. The second part of this thesis deals with the structural design of the drive. Based on the computation of the crank mechanism, several design solutions were suggested. From these solutions, the option with the lowest drive height is selected. This option, offers the computation of the main drive, flywheel, spur gearing and clutch/brake combination. This computation is followed by computations of individual construction nodes, which include a design and dimensioning of the individual joggles, shafts and bearings. The drawing of the press and clutch shaft assemblies with a list of items are also included.

This diploma thesis deals with designing and manipulating a robot for training table tennis. Robot's mechanical construction is based on aluminium profiles supported by various standardized assembly units, such as rotating bearings, plain bearings, threaded rods... The front-end part of the robot, which requires better deformation property and lighter weight, was made from ABS material using 3D rapid prototyping technology. The design of the robot allows its body to rotate around three axises. Thanks to the high dynamical ability, robot can be set to throw balls to various places on the playing table, with different types of ball spin. Balls will be shot out by two rubber wheels, which are attached to two electrical DC motors. By driving the speed of the two motors, we can control the speed of the ball, as well as speed of its spin. All robot's activities are driven by an embedded system designed using microcontroller ATMega128. A firmware for controlling robot's function was writen and flashed into the microcontroller. End-users might communicate with the robot via a system of buttons and a text LCD display. The built robot was tested and it has shown its ability to throw balls to 6 different places of the playing table, at different speeds, with different types of ball spin, and different spin speed, according to the parameters set by user.

Idag beskärs en stålrulle inom stålindustrin i ett skärverk, stålrullarna delas tillmindre delband med dålig kontroll av skärgradshöjdens kvalitet. Stickprover tas manuelltvilket endast blir ett fåtal stickprover på en stålrulle som har 150 delband ochär 30 kilometer i längd. En hål omsändning för en stålrulle kostar upp mot en miljonkronor och har en negativ klimatpåverkan. En mjukvaruprototyp för detektering avskärgradshöjd med en referenslinje togs fram. Prototypen innehöll en ljussensor, tvåmotorer, en PC och en prototypkonstruktion. Varje uppgift i programvaran tilldeladesen egen tråd. Operativsystem, trådar och algoritmer prestanda testades för mätningav exekveringstider och periodtider. Resultatet visade att en skärgradsdetektorvar möjlig att realisera. Algoritmen för skärgradshöjd med referenslinje detekteradeskärgradshöjden där amplituden var tillräckligt stor. / Today, a steel roll is cut within the steel industry in a cutting factory, the steel rollsare divided to smaller part bands with poor control of the burr height quality. Samplesis taken manually, the amount of samples is too low to know the quality of thesteel roll, the steel rolls can be divided up to 150 times and the length will be 30 kilometers. A whole resend for one steel roll costs up against a million SEK and has anegative climatic impact. One software prototype for detection of burr heights witha reference line was programmed. The prototype contained one light sensor, two motors,a PC and one prototype construction. Each task in the software was allocatedan own thread. Operating systems, threads and algorithms was performance testedfor measurement of execution times and period times. The result showed that a burrheight detector where possible to implement. The algorithm could detect burrheights that were too large related to its reference line.

The whiteboard is a tool being used in several different facilities around the world. However, erasing the ink off the board can be unnecessarily time consuming and distracting. The purpose of the project was therefore to create a demonstrator to automate the process with a few restrictions. The demonstrator was required to be light enough and small enough to be handheld. In addition, the demonstrator needed to function and work properly on a magnetic surface. To conceptualize the purpose a demonstrator was built with an iterative process and thereafter programmed to get a systematic movement. It utilized continuous servo motors, IR-sensors and a 3-axis gyroscope and an accelerometer in combination with 3D-printed components. The final prototype turned out to function properly but could be improved as its erasing properties are not working as one could expect from a finished prototype. / Whiteboard är ett verktyg som används i flera olika fastigheter runt om i världen. Att ta bort bläcket från whiteboarden kan dock vara onödigt tidskrävande och distraherande. Syftet med projektet var därför att automatisera processen med några begränsningar. Två begränsningar var att prototypen skulle väga lite och vara tillräckligt liten för att vara handhållen. En annan begränsning var att den skulle fungera korrekt på en magnetisk yta. För att konceptualisera syftet byggdes en prototyp med en iterativ process och därefter programmerades den för att få en systematisk rörelse. Den utnyttjade kontinuerliga servomotorer, IR-sensorer och ett 3-axligt gyroskop i kombination med 3D-printade komponenter. Den slutgiltiga prototypen visade sig fungera korrekt men kan förbättras eftersom dess raderingsegenskaper inte fungerar som man kunde ha förväntat sig från en färdig prototyp.
