No. of bitstreams: 1 Barbara Endo.pdf: 2689781 bytes, checksum: 6c0868d8475b54dd104007374607824a (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-03-08 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The entertainment is embedded in everyday life of modern society in a way that goes beyond just the moments of leisure and entertainment, becoming present in professional environments, education and information. Amid this new design, the Communication also realizes changes, as the interactivity promoted by the media coverage, the new appearance of the audience, more demanding and connected, or the hybridization of genres and formats. In this context, there are entertainment programs, especially in the television, incorporating technical and practical aspects of journalism, including the narrative and production processes. Such programs convey a content called infotainment, which combines information and entertainment and thus the journalistic representation of social life is linked to distraction and fun. The dissertation analyzes the content of the news production process within an entertainment program and varieties that features lots of news content in its composition: the Hoje Em Dia, from Rede Record. This is a qualitative study, study type of case, using direct observation techniques, semi-open interviews, desk research and content analysis. The issue of technical reproducibility standards and the inclusion of everyday elements combined with the cultural industry and mass communication is also depicted in this dissertation. The main intention is to understand how the dynamics of journalistic production programs to entertain and at the same time inform.

O processo de projeto da arquitetura efemera vinculada a feiras comerciais / The project process of ephemeral architecture concerning to the trade fairs

Monasterio, Clelia Maria Coutinho Teixeira 31 August 2006 (has links)
Orientadores: Ana Lucia N. de Camargo Harris, Regina Coelo Ruschel / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Engenharia Civil, Arquitetura e Urbanismo / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-09T16:25:51Z (GMT). Portanto, a utilização de extranets de projeto pode contribuir favoravelmente para um maior controle da qualidade dos projetos e de seu desenvolvimento / Abstract: Due to the fierce competition between companies in a globalized market, promotional architecture has been developing steadily to meet the marketing needs of big and small companies. Meeting these clients' needs quickly and effectively has become a challenge for professionals in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction industries (AEC), hired to design and build stands in tenths of trade shows a year, following extremely tight schedules. Cases where the client, the designers and the builders are geographically apart are very common. In such cases, the use of New Information and Communication Technologies (NICT) help them in project development, allowing them to share documents and work simultaneously. Utilizing the World Wide Web (WWW) through the Internet has been crucial in this process, allowing for virtual collaboration sites (extranets) to help improve the quality of the projects, as well as the speed of its execution. The main objective of this research is to characterize trade show stands according to considerations determined by trade show promotional marketing and identify the technology utilized for support in the stands building process when its stakeholders work apart. In order to better understand this process, a field study was carried out, in which the exploratory research was conducted on the development of projects related to promotional architecture for EMBRAER (Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica) marketing department, located in São José dos Campos, SP. In that study it was analyzed how the projects of stands are developed when its stakeholders are working apart, focusing on two aspects concerning project quality: conceptual and management aspects. The former relate to project quality concerning to implicit and explicit needs, in which we analyzed important factors, following the theoretical framework presented as follows: briefing, project flexibility, reutilization capabilities, ease of assembling/disassembling and logistical agility. The latter aspects concern communication and management of the paperwork generated during the execution of the project and the technology involved in it. In order to collect the data needed for analysis, questionnaires and forms were distributed to the sector¿s designing and building outsourcing AEC companies. Results indicate that, even though these companies don¿t carry out their work according to the standards for project and development, they seek to meet the needs detected in this bibliographic research. The majority of the work developed by the companies researched follows traditional engineering processes; however, results also show that the use of NICT has been playing a very important role in project development and validation. Therefore, the use of project extranets can give an important contribution to project quality control and development / Mestrado / Arquitetura e Construção / Mestre em Engenharia Civil

Vinícius Mizumoto Mega 02 October 2015 (has links)
The overall objective of the research is to study the criteria used by companies to the choice of performing arts projects sponsored via tax exemption of Rouanet Law. The specific objective is to show how the media visibility of parameters, cost-effective, internal marketing, relationship marketing and business opportunities and communication with stakeholders (employees, customers, consumers, surrounding community) value embodied by actors and directors media at the expense of authors and directors and media unknowns, which hinders the access of experimental theater productions and research to fiscal waiver resources Rouanet Law. The Rouanet Law was instituted in a neoliberal context of Brazil in which the State transferred to the private sector the viability of artistic production which happens to be evaluated according to their potential to transform into merchandise and win new customers in order to generate profit for companies. We interviewed representatives of private and public companies, sponsored project managers and made impossible through the Rouanet Law and made a survey of theater plays sponsored in 2011 through tax breaks and concluded that there is a concentration of tax exemption resources in production Broadway actors and directors and consecrated by the media to the detriment of authors and directors and unknown actors of the press. Thus, large companies benefit performances that give financial and institutional marketing return, the entertainment culture that seeks to entertain and please the \"general public\". Research the Ministry of Culture affirmed that there is a concentration of 50% of the resources in only 3% of the proposers. Thus, we identified the concept of market censorship acting on two procedural aspects of censorship: first, the restriction of artistic production with controversial issues prevents meanings, values and divergent feelings of social convention are brought to the public. In the second excludes experimental theater productions and research theater access to public resources of the Rouanet Law, for these artistic expressions have unpredictable box office, critical, audience and revenue.

(Im)permanent body ink: the fluid meanings of tattoos, deviance, and normativity in twentieth-century American culture

Fabiani, Christina 31 August 2017 (has links)
This thesis examines the symbiotic relationship between the meanings of tattoos and social norms through a comparative analysis of three distinct periods in twentieth-century American history. I use extensive archival material and an interdisciplinary approach to explain how the meanings of body ink shifted and to identify factors that influenced the public’s perceptions of tattoos as deviant or acceptable. In the 1920s and 1930s, tattooing practices among favored social groups, specifically military personnel, middle- and upper-class white men and women, and circus performers, generally received more positive reactions than those among lower-class and criminal subcultures. In the 1950s and 1960s, body ink became practiced primarily by marginalized individuals, such as criminals, bikers, and sex workers, and the general public’s understandings of tattoos as indicators of deviance and dangerous immorality strengthened. The new clientele and practitioners of the 1970s and 1980s mainly came from a high socio-economic status and reframed their tattooing practices as artistic expressions of individuality. I argue that, although body ink aesthetic by and large supported American values of patriotism, heteronormativity, and racial advantage, tattooing practices among ‘respectable’ groups were more accepted than those by ‘deviant’ subcultures. My research shows that the fluctuations between public rejection and appreciation of tattoos in these periods rested principally on the appearance and function of the inked design and on the position of the tattooed body in the social hierarchy. This thesis demonstrates that tattooing practices created and perpetuated but also destabilized and influenced gender-, race-, and class-based American ideals, and my research exposes the nuanced connections of body ink with deviance and normativity, the malleability of social conventions, and a complex web of power relations constantly in flux. / Graduate / 2018-08-23

She Probably Did Not Get a Rose : A Case Study of Audience Reception of the Swedish Adaption of The Bachelor

Wolontis, Kira January 2020 (has links)
Reality TV is a well-appreciated concept in the world of entertainment. The purpose of this study is to approach the viewing of reality television, with the intention to explore if men and women react to and interpret gender roles differently in a chosen reality TV show. Further social factors, such as nationality, age, sexuality and education will simultaneously play a crucial part in the analysis. The Swedish adaption of the well-known format The Bachelor was chosen for this case study to examine if the situations in the show would provoke different reactions and interpretations among the respondents. The thesis delivers two qualitative methodological approaches to capture the reactions and interpretations among the test persons. A focus group discussion with eight Finnish men and women was conducted along with eight individual interviews with Swedish men and women, with the intention of gaining insightful and valuable knowledge regarding how men and women interpret what they see. The study’s findings suggest that there are both differences and similarities among men and women in their reactions and interpretations of gender roles in the chosen show, and that further social factors aid and affect in constructing the different interpretations.

Renaud-St-Roch, Mathilde 08 1900 (has links)
This dissertation focuses on the opening credits and the techniques proposed by the designers of this filmic segment to invite the audience into the fiction. This study seeks to categorize the opening credits studied according to the elements shown on the screen to present a universe divergent from our own. Contemporary American fantasy films are put forward to analyze the presentation of a new universe. Starting with theories and definitions of generics, the analysis will be developed using the foundations of Roger Odin's semio-pragmatics. The interest of this research is to understand the operations carried out by the credits so that the spectator can be in phase with the work.
