The influence of selected human factors as antecedents to the efficiency of upstream supply chains / C.H. Pienaar.

Pienaar, Cornelius Hermanus January 2012 (has links)
Although theory suggests the importance of the influence of selected human factors as antecedents to the efficiency of upstream supply chains, research findings of the actual influence human factors may have are lacking in evidence. This study examines its influence on the basis of a literature study as well as an empirical study in an attempt to find hard facts to its role in supply chain efficiency. Six different human factors were identified, based on opinions from key opinion leaders in this field of study and investigated its relevance by means of empirical research. Results suggest that the selected human factors that play a definite role in upstream supply chain efficiency are: individual’s principles, individual’s goals and company’s goals for the individual - common goals, personality, ability/trainability, general skills and training, and mutual trust and understanding. Findings presented interesting results that should influence the way management handles its human assets in the organisational environment. / Thesis (MBA)--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2013.

The teaching of skills such as curriculum policy of high school in the public system of the State of Rio de Janeiro: the hegemony of flexible training?

Carlos Thiago Gomes Sampaio 30 July 2014 (has links)
This thesis aims to develop a reflection on the hegemony of the pedagogy of skills as a guiding concept of the proposed curriculum of high school education in state of Rio de Janeiro. To achieve this goal we seek to determine, through analysis of official documents, theoretical frameworks and observation of structuring the Rio educational system, as it has promoted flexible training as a standard to be developed among the students of the network. We also performed an approach to knowledge about the curriculum, organization and its historical representation in the teaching activity. As a last step the paper we perform an analysis of the proposed curriculum of the state of Rio de Janeiro, indicating the centrality of skills that pedagogy takes the official document. Furthermore, we analyze the goals of the plan SEEDUC-RJ, identifying some features of the plan and its articulation with the logic of flexible training. Finally, we also conducted interviews with some teachers, aiming to certify weaknesses and inconsistencies in the minimum curriculum and formative logic. At the end, it was established as the neoliberal model has spread its guidance throughout the Rio de Janeiro state. Although we make explicit alignment between global notions and the materialization of these notions in the local school, showing how the pedagogy of skills training dimension linked to the yearnings of a know-how far from emancipatory education of man.

ABSTRACT The study updates a 2005 proposal which deals with the evaluation of the librarian training, taking as reference the application of competence parameters, institutionalized by the National Curriculum Guidelines and approved by the Resolution 19/2002 of the National Education Council/Board of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education (CNE/CES/MEC). The overall goal was to investigate the changes in the librarian's professional practice identified in studies and researches, post-promulgation of the National Education Guidelines and Framework Act dated of 1986, that aimed to identify the professional skills demanded by society and the labor market, as well as the performance of the educational institutions responsible for the formation of this kind of professional. This research is based on documentary evidence with a qualitative approach and the methodology applied consisted of the data read-back on documentary sources between 2002 and 2013, in order to extract those competences suggested by the authors for the formation of the librarian. Subsequently, the listed skills from the research were contrasted with the ranking of competences proposed by the National Curriculum Guidelines for Library courses. And, finally, we have applied a survey type investigation, using as source the results of the test named National Examination of Student Performance (Enade), expecting to get indicators on the performance of the courses and their educational institutions. It concludes by pointing the ranking of functions and skills needed by librarian to perform, with proficiency and autonomy, its function in society and the contemporary productive market labor while the professional training point of view, for conceptual and structural issues of the course of and higher education institutions that offer them, there is a misalignment between what proposes the literature, that is, the discourse of experts and the reality.

Ashenafi Kebede Gutema 11 1900 (has links)
The relationship between the role of leadership and agricultural cooperatives performance were examined in East, West and South Ethiopia. The hypotheses were tested in a survey of N=162 leaders, managers and directors of primary coffee farmers cooperatives. The results of the test confirmed the overall positive relationship between the role of leadership and agricultural cooperatives performances. This study highlights and gives general view into how the role of leadership can significantly contribute to cooperatives business performances. The results and findings of the analysis indicated that leaders who are most effective at business performances are those who utilize leadership behavior and the skills and trainings required in the cooperatives business organizations. The study encourages further and comprehensive research into the interconnection between the role of leadership, education and skills of leaders, financial management knowledge and decision making competency. The study followed cross-sectional survey design, and employed evaluative quantitative analysis method. The analysis was based on primary data generated through a structured questionnaire distributed to the respondents. Responses to research statements were scaled and converted to analyze the quantitative data of dependent and independent variables based on the role of leadership and associated performance variables. The findings from correlation and multiple regressions in testing the hypotheses showed that there are significant and positive relationship between each of the five independent variables and a dependent variable of business performances. The study concluded that leadership role was very important in cooperatives business performance and, therefore, recommended that leaders of coffee farmers’ cooperatives organizations that wanted to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their businesses performances need to implement the suggestions stated in the recommendation part of this study about the leadership roles. / Business Management / DBL

Contribuição da matriz curricular da Escola de Saúde Pública de Mato Grosso (ESPMT) no ano de 2004, para a qualificação do processo de trabalho dos técnicos em enfermagem que atuam na estratégia de saúde da família (ESF) / Contribution of nursing curricula at the School of Public Health of Mato Grosso (ESPMT) in 2004, to qualify the work process of nursing technicians who work in family health strategy (ESF)

Saragiotto, Eliete Balbina Santos January 2009 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2011-05-04T12:36:22Z (GMT). / The current study analyzes the extent to which the 2004 course curriculum at the Mato Grosso School of Public Health (ESPMT) contributed to the introduction of new practices in the work performed by Family Health teams in the municipality (county) of Sapezal, Mato Grosso State, Brazil. The initial premise is that some authors consider the Family Health Strategy one of the main strategies for reorganization of services and reorientation of professional practices under the Unified National Health System (SUS), with the following as the basis for health promotion; comprehensiveness, intersectorality, and teamwork. The educational training process in the Technical Schools under the National Health System deserves discussion from two perspectives: 1) the need to adjust the course curriculum to social changes and new epidemiological profiles, principally in relation to curricula and the health services’ demands and 2) the mismatch between health services and the availability of personnel prepared to deal with the population’s needs. A qualitative study was performed with nurse technician course alumni working in the Family Health Units in Sapezal. According to the study, although the curriculum elaborated by the Mato Grosso School of Public Health in 2004 for the nurse technician course in Sapezal was prepared to train people to work under the Family Health Strategy, from the theoretical and pedagogical point of view, it failed to incorporate specific contents pertaining to the strategy. The field research showed that nurse technicians’ work reality was centered on technical nursing care. The work process in the Family Health Units in Sapezal is focused on individualized, hierarchically framed, and rigidly specialized work, without considering teamwork, singularity, subjectivity, and inter-subjectivity. As for the course content, although the School of Public Health has been working since 2004 with a skills-based model, the conclusion is that the course curriculum for nurse technicians in Sapezal is focused on the workplace based on norms and procedures rather than skills. The emphasis is on specific training for nurse technicians, and the limited content related to collective health is given in the final module, while the training stage of nurse technicians is already concluded in Module III.
