Gestion des risques liés au transport des matières dangereuses / Risk management related to the transport of dangerous goods

Najib, Mehdi 31 October 2014 (has links)
The international trade evolution and the growth of intercontinental commercial exchanges have created an ongoing need for goods’ transport. In this context, maritime transport knew an enormous craze due to its efficiency for shipping large quantities of goods. This mode of transport has been revolutionized by the introduction of containers and the development of new multimodal platforms specialized in container handling: Container Terminals (CT). These CTs are subject to a set of constraints and requirements that must be satisfied in terms of efficiency, safety, and dependability. This thesis aims to manage the risks related to containers transport in a CT taking into account the collaborative aspect of the supply chain and the activities carried out before the containers’ delivery. Furthermore, it tackles reconciliation of the risk management aspect and performance aspect in CT. The implementation is based on a multi-paradigm approach for the urbanization of GOST traceability system (Geo-localization, Optimization, Securing, and Transport) and the development of a Container Terminal Management System (CTMS). For the risk management related to containers transport, we proposed a tracking and tracing solution based on the urbanization of GOST system, intelligent product concept and service-oriented architectures. This solution aims to improve the collection of information needed for risk management, which are provided by the supply chain actors. For this purpose, first of all, we propose an urbanization of the GOST system to fit t risk management requirements. In a second step, we define an improved intelligent product concept to develop an appropriate intelligent container model. Finally, we used the model driven architectures to automate code generation of web services needed to collect traceability data. For this purpose, two approaches for interfacing the intelligent container to different web services have been proposed. The first is based on services orchestration using business process. The second is founded on the configuration of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). All these solutions are integrated in the CTMS system. This system is developed using the Agent technology and aims to integrate risk management approach and the evaluation of the CT performance. Our risk management approach is based on two processes. The first deals with the suspicious containers targeting and it is based on an expert system enriched by a forced learning method: the Apriori algorithm. The second supports the verification of spatial segregation during storage. Finally, a case study was carried out to validate the proposed solution as well as a simulation to evaluate the performance.

Rapid-Chase Theory: The Influence of the Time of Invisible Stimulus Presentation on Movement Control

Flannigan, Jenna Catherine January 2015 (has links)
In the response priming paradigm, a small briefly presented visual stimulus (i.e., prime) is followed by a larger visible stimulus (i.e., mask) that renders the prime invisible and specifies the target location. According to the rapid-chase theory, the initial portion of the movement is dictated by the prime (initiation criterion) while the later portion is dictated by the mask (takeover criterion) and the prime is initially processed independently from the mask (independence criterion). The purpose of the first experiment was to determine if the processing of the prime and mask fit the predictions of the rapid-chase theory when the prime and mask are presented during an ongoing movement. The second experiment was designed to examine the impact of the prime when it is presented at various times throughout the execution of the movement. Participants initiated rapid pointing movements to a center target. On 1/3 of the trials, participants had to correct their movements to the left (or right) target in response to a left-pointing (or right-pointing) mask arrow, which was preceded by a neutral, left-, or right-pointing prime arrow. In Experiment 1, the prime was presented at movement onset and the mask randomly appeared 33, 50, or 67 ms after prime onset. In Experiment 2, the prime followed movement onset with a delay of 17, 33, or 50 ms and the mask was presented 50 ms after prime onset. In both experiments, participants first modified their movements in the direction indicated by the prime before completing their movements to the correct target in the majority of trials; thus, supporting the initiation and takeover criteria. However, the spatial priming effects did not follow the time course predicted by the independence criterion. Overall, the rapid-chase theory does not seem to apply to movement execution, but the prime is still able to influence the movement despite being presented later in the pointing trajectory.

Přístupy k transformaci popisu procesů do BPEL / Approaches to transformation of process description to BPEL

Císař, Daniel January 2009 (has links)
In this work, I dealt with the field of Business Process Managent and Service Oriented Architecture. First I tried a comprehensive conceptual view of both through the definition of important principles. In BPM as a disciline I identified "life-cycle" as the most important principle for process optimization tools. For service-oriented architecture, I had to reduce the view to important principles related to composition of services. An important starting point in my work are the definitions of processes and services and their roles in BPM systems. It is a simplified view that helps connect modeled processes to Web services. Web services and orchestration is the most popular and most common usage of the service-oriented architecture. Composition is another important building block of SOA and is the basis for more realistic goals of SOA, such as greater enterprise agility, more efficient utilization of resources in the enterprise, etc. BPM discipline combines multiple elements and as it is typicaly multidisciplinary it combines process management and optimization through tools. These tools historically perform their roles well, but companies are now in a very competitive linked environment and must to behave differently. In my work I have stated firstly why would these areas could be beneficial to each other. The next part focused, what is the relationship with the life-cycle process for BPM and how it fits into the life-cycle services in SOA. Finally, I analyzed the current state mapping of BPMN, the most common notation for expressing processes in BPM, to BPEL. BPEL describes a process, but it is expressed as a programmatic sequential process, which is also executed in digital form. At work I have examined the role of the new version of the BPMN notation 2.0.

Efficient Web Services for End-To-End Interoperability of Embedded Systems

Kyusakov, Rumen January 2014 (has links)
As the number of Internet-connected devices rapidly grows, it has become ever more challenging to develop and maintain purpose-made tightly integrated distributed embedded systems. Instead, the Internet of Things (IoT) approach, based on standardized interfaces and open communication protocols, enables support for various applications with the possibility of extension to provide additional services that were not necessarily available at the initial deployment. This thesis presents methods and tools for the development of standard-based Web services for the Internet of Things. Some of the key challenges in using Web services on resource-constrained devices are due to the overhead of the communication protocols, which leads to the need for greater network bandwidth, processing power, and memory usage. A common solution to these problems is to use gateways that translate between the protocols used on one end of the connection (i.e. low-capability devices) and those on the other end (i.e. powerful Web servers). However, this increases the overall complexity of the system. The work presented herein answers the following research questions: 1) Is it feasible to deploy standard Web services on IoT systems without using application layer gateways? 2) What are the trade-offs in using Web services for end-to-end interoperability of resource-constrained embedded systems? 3) What levels of efficiency and functionality can be achieved using binary coding schemes for XML data exchange? The research questions are tested by building and evaluating several prototype IoT systems. These evaluations show that the use of Web services requires more powerful hardware (i.e. CPU and RAM) and a larger form factor in exchange for better interoperability compared to the use of ad hoc application protocols. The main challenge in employing embedded Web services is the large size of the messages, which is due to the use of verbose data formats such as XML. Although it is shown that it is possible to deploy XML-based Web services on low-capability devices without application layer gateways, this approach has severe performance limitations. Using the Efficient XML Interchange (EXI) binary coding scheme overcomes some of these limitations by substantially reducing the size of the XML messages. The main outcome of this thesis is the design and implementation of a software toolkit, called EXIP, for building EXI-based embedded Web services. The trade-offs in the use of embedded Web services are likely to change in the near future as the importance of application layer interoperability increases and IoT devices become faster, more energy efficient, and equipped with more memory. The dominating importance of interoperability can be seen in highly heterogeneous systems such as energy management systems (i.e. smart grids), where embedded Web services are already in use today. With this in mind, future research directions and extensions of this work include the development of performance optimization strategies for the EXIP toolkit to foster the expansion of embedded Web services to an even wider range of IoT applications. / Godkänd; 2014; 20140909 (rumkyu); Nedanstående person kommer att disputera för avläggande av teknologie doktorsexamen.
