It was an online course entitled "Español for Tourism". This study aimed at i) describing the digital gender of educational chat based on the compositional construction analysis, on the theme content and on its function, according to the Bakhtinian theory for speech genre (Bakhtin (2003), Marcuschi (2005, 2008), Fiorin (2006), ii) describing, based on the theory and methodology of textual-interactive perspective (JUBRAN, 2006a, 2007), the textual-construction strategies that fall under the linguistic materiality of the text, based on the regularities of textual construction procedures (Koch (2006), Marcuschi (2006a, 2006b), Jubran (2006a, 2006b), Fávero, Andrade and Aquino (2006a, 2006b), Travaglia (2006), Risso, Oliveira & Urban (2006) and Urban (2006)). Based on these theories, we analyzed the following strategies: lexical, sentence and letter repetition, correction, bracketing, hesitation, punctuation (ellipses, exclamation points and question marks), capitalization, onomatopoeia, shifts, language fragmentation, vocative, discourse markers, emoticons, abbreviations, word segmentation and dialogic pair. The description of the textual construction strategies of educational chats enabled us to identify that there are strategies that meet the adequacy of standard (written) Spanish, as well as others, which reproduce the characteristics of speech, and a third kind, that reelaborates the conventional sense of spelling of typical written resources. Besides the use of standard and variant features of redevelopment of writing, there was also the use of strategies for textual construction which... La antroponomástica. Aproximación teórica y propuesta de aplicación didáctica en ELE. / Anthroponyms in Spanish: a contrastive analysis of their use.PISOS PRADO, Aitor January 2019 (has links)
The present work aims to analyze the potential value of anthroponyms within the didac-tics of Spanish as a Foreign Language. With that purpose, theoretical basis concerning anthroponyms is provided in favor of a solid formal background that will support the following didactic proposal. Likewise, the actual presence of anthroponyms in the Curricular Plan of the Instituto Cervantes is analyzed, as well as other ways of use that it doesn't consider, but that will also inspire the activities presented at the end of this work. We will examine with more depth those anthroponyms integrated in phraseological units (Como Pedro por su casa; En tiempos de Maricasta?a; etc) for what a classification of the different existing phraseological units will be described. This classification will lead to the design of a compendium of phraseological units with these characteristics that will serve as a reference for the didactic proposal.

El videojuego como herramienta didáctica para la ense\~{n}anza de ELE: una propuesta en torno a Hollywood Monsters 2 / Languages of videogames as a didactic tool.VILLÁN MIRÁS, Enara January 2019 (has links)
Videogames are an audio-visual instrument with a strong educational potential that, nevertheless, have not been considered as such yet. The goal of this work is to encourage teacher and researchers to exhaust the didactic possibilities of this new instrument which constitutes as well a nowadays real social phenomenon, in order to achieve thus its integration at the language teaching classrooms and, more precisely, at the Spanish as a Foreign Language ones. With this purpose in mind, we will delimit the main features of videogames contrasting it with other two elements with which it shares key characteristics and which are properly taken into account within the teaching sector: movies and games. Once this is accomplished, we will meditate on the pros and cons to which the use of videogames as didactic materials lead, we will provide certain keys for its proper usage and, eventually, we will gather up these thoughts and considerations which will be afterwards poured into a didactic proposal based on the graphic adventure game Hollywood Monsters 2.

The speech intelligibility of English learners of Spanish at Key Stage 4Osle Ezquerra, Ángel January 2013 (has links)
This study offers an assessment of the non-native speech intelligibility of a group of English learners of Spanish at word level and in connected speech. Specifically, we aimed at analysing the impact of certain categories of phonemic errors, as well as three temporal variables of L2 speech (speech rate, pause frequency and pause duration) on intelligibility scores. In addition, the possible correlation between degree of intelligibility and certain individual factors (gender, level of proficiency, motivation, aptitude and L1) was also studied. Sixty evaluators, native speakers of Peninsular Spanish, transcribed different speech samples belonging to a group of 20 Key Stage 4 English learners of Spanish. The transcription of the different speech samples served to assess intelligibility at word level and in connected speech (sentence, passage and semi-spontaneous production). Results revealed an intelligibility loss at all levels of analysis, as well as a high correlation between intelligibility scores in the single word test and those obtained in connected speech. At a segmental level, deviations affecting vowels, especially unstressed vowels, seemed to play a more important role than inaccuracies affecting consonants. Moreover, correlation analyses underscored the importance of speech rate, pause frequency and pause duration for intelligibility loss. The predictability of our multiple-regression models was high for speech samples obtained at sentence and passage levels. However, multiple-regression models for speech samples obtained through the semi-spontaneous production task exhibited a more limited capability in predicting variation in students’ intelligibility scores. Results suggest the existence of additional variables affecting intelligibility at this level of analysis. All individual differences under study, with the exception of gender, were highly correlated with speech intelligibility. From a pedagogical perspective, it is argued here that any successful instructional treatment of speech intelligibility will depend on an appropriate integration of temporal aspects of speech within the time devoted to pronunciation instruction in the foreign language classroom.

Problematika překladu tzv. "kulturních reálií" v češtině a ve španělštině (kontrastivní analýza) / Translation Problems of "Cultural Realias" in Czech and Spanish (contrastive analysis)FALOUTOVÁ, Eliška January 2019 (has links)
The main topic of this thesis is the translation of the food-related cultural references. The theoretical part is primarily focused on translation techniques and strategies which are usually used for the translation of cultural elements. Furthermore, the other objective of this part is to introduce this topic in the context of the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. Specifically, it deals with the incorporation of a sociocultural component in the Spanish courses and the translation as a pedagogical tool. The theoretical foundations are put into practice in a translation techniques analysis and there is also a didactic proposal designed for Czech students of Translation and Interpreting.

Los Principales Problemas Fonéticos y Fonológicos en la enseñanza del Español para ExtranjerosBackhouse, Åsa January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the most common phonetic and phonological difficulties in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language. The study has been based on the following questions: Which difficulties can teachers encounter when teaching phonetics and phonology? Which difficulties can students encounter when learning phonetics and phonology? How is phonetics and phonology taught? In order to be able to investigate the difficulties, a questionnaire has been handed out to five experienced teachers. The results of the questionnaires, together with the theory, has been analysed in the analysis. The outcome of the analysis shows that several difficulties can be detected in both the teaching and in the learning process. The results of the questionnaires also show us that the teachers mostly teach phonetics the same way: through repetition and imitation, the conductive method, and very few think outside of the box to encounter new methods.

Español como lengua extranjera : un estudio de métodos de enseñanzaGuerra, Rebecca January 2011 (has links)
This essay concerns methods of teaching, with the focus being mainly on methods of grammar, interaction, oral methods and the real context. The purpose of the study is to examine different methods used in the education of Spanish as a foreign language, as well as to show the effect of those methods. The investigation is based on the following questions: Which methods are used by teachers of Spanish as a foreign language? Which of these methods would be the most effective ones when it comes to learning? The methods of investigation used in the study are: search in related literature and interviews. The interviews are made with three teachers of Spanish as a foreign language in Sweden, and the analysis includes a comparison between the responses and the theories found in the literature. The result of the investigation shows that the effect of several of the methods depends on the students involved, their motivation and personalities. Another conclusion made is the fact that dialogues are regarded as effective and of good use in the teaching of a foreign language. Working in groups is moreover considered an excellent method according to the result of this study.

Imágenes de Hispanoamérica : Un análisis crítico de material didáctico de ELEPersson, Anna January 2011 (has links)
This paper investigates how Latin America and its cultures are represented in textbooks on Spanish as a foreign language. The study aims at investigating how much attention and of what type is dedicated to Latin America in the investigated material, whether the textbooks contribute to giving a varied and nuanced image of the Spanish-American cultures and how this relates to the educational goal of promoting an intercultural competence.A qualitative method of analysis has been applied in order to carry out the analysis of three textbooks for intermediate levels of language studies: Caminando 3, Alegria and De acuerdo. The results of the investigation show that the investigated textbooks mostly present a simplified, ethnocentric, homogenized and sometimes postcolonial image of the Spanish-American cultures. Texts where the culture constitutes the context and not the subject can promote a process of identification and consequently an intercultural competence. The study’s main conclusions show that Spanish-American cultures are underrepresented in the investigated material and that a non-native perspective dominates in the majority of the texts. This combined with the lack of variety and profundity, may have consequences for the promotion of an intercultural competence and for teachers’ work with textbooks and cultural content.
