Investigação da relação entre parâmetros da compactação giratória e de deformação permanente em misturas asfálticas densas / Investigation of relationship between the gyratory compaction and rutting parameters of asphalt mixtures

Soares, Jéssica Santiago 08 August 2014 (has links)
This research aims to study relations between compaction and permanent deformation by means of Superpave® gyratory compaction and static and dynamic creep tests. Thus, eight asphalt mixtures were evaluated which were composed by same type (granite) and gradation (dense) of mineral aggregate but two types of asphalt binder (Pen 50/70 AC and Pen 50/70+SBS AC), two different levels of air voids (4% and 7%) and the addition of hydrated lime. Compaction results indicated that curve slopes of 7% air void asphalt mixtures were stronger than the 4% ones, and compaction parameters were sensitive to lime addition and asphalt type change. Static and dynamic creep test results indicated that 4% air void and modified asphalt mixtures presented lower susceptibility to rutting, but, these modified asphalt advantages were observed only in dynamic creep tests. In regard to relation between compaction and rutting parameters, linear models did not fit accurately, excepting some CDI and TDIm ones.

Valuation and Hedging of Foreign Exchange Barrier Options / Ocenění a zajíštění měnových bariérových opcí

Mertlík, Jakub January 2004 (has links)
The main aim of this thesis is in analyzing and empirically testing the various valuation models and hedging schemes of foreign exchange barrier options and their robustness with respect to changing of market conditions. The purpose of the main empirical section is to get a detailed understanding of the static and dynamic performance of the analyzed models for the barrier options payoff mainly in the extreme market conditions, where we performed a benchmarking of the various hedging schemes. As a by-product, we analyzed the accomplishment of some of the model assumptions in real world setting, and the model dependency of the barrier options.

Análise experimental de dormentes de concreto protendido reforçados com fibras de aço / Resistance of steel fiber prestressed concrete sleepers to static and cyclic loading

Bastos, Paulo Sérgio dos Santos 19 November 1999 (has links)
This work describes a prestressed concrete monoblock railway sleeper designed according to a brazilian railway track. The sleeper was tested according to the Arema specifications in order to verify the project. The sleeper presented a structural behavior similar to the concrete railway sleepers used worldwide. After the preliminary tests, eighteen sleepers were manufactured without and with steel fibers contents of 60 Kg/'M POT.3' (about 0.75% by volume) and they were tested under static and dynamic loading to evaluate the fiber contribution on the resistance. Steel fibers increased the first crack and ultimate bending moments, reduced the deflection under ultimate load and increased significantly the slip force of the prestressing tendons. Reinforcing the sleeper with fibers also reduced the crack width and the spacing between cracks, adding higher ductility to the sleepers and decreasing the stress in the prestressing tendons under higher loads. The fibers increased significantly the fatigue strength under cyclic loading, decreasing the stress in the prestressing tendons in about 100%. The test results showed that sleepers manufactured with lower prestressed force have higher toughness, especially those reinforced with steel fibers

Contribution au développement du transistor bipolaire à fort gain et d'un interrupteur bidirectionnel à quatre quadrants / The contribution to the development of the super-gain BJT and of a four-quadrants bidirectional switch

Ren, Zheng 01 June 2018 (has links)
In order to meet the requirement of more efficient electrical energy management for intelligent buildings, a new 600V bidirectional switch, named as TBBS, has been proposed by the GREMAN laboratory. Previous studies have validated the current and voltage bidirectionality of this newly proposed topology. The research work carried out in this thesis deals with a deeper and more comprehensive study of this bidirectional switch and its elementary component - the High-gain bipolar juncion transistor. The first chapter introduces the operation of the TBBS and its physical modeling in a finite element simulation environment. The second chapter presentes the research work related to the experimental caracterisation of the TBBS and the High-gain bipolar junction transistor. At last the third chapter deals with the electrical modeling of these two bipolar components.

Analyse de la vulnérabilité sismique des structures à ossature en bois : essais expérimentaux, modélisation numérique, calculs parasismiques / Probabilistic analysis of the seismic vulnerability of timber frame building

Boudaud, Clément 07 December 2012 (has links)
This research aims at a better understanding of the vulnerability of timber-frame buildings against earthquakes. The behavior of these structures under seismic loading relies on their joints with metal fasteners (nails, screws, 3 dimensionnal connections, etc.). The numerical modeling of such a structure is based on a multi-scale approach, which allows to take into account the local behaviors at the structural scale. Three scales are defined: Scale 1: joints, scale 2: structural elements (shear walls, floors, roofs), scale 3: buildings. At each scale, a behavior law (hysteretic with damage) is used. The calibrations or validations are based on experimental tests. Tests on joints with metal fasteners are used to calibrate the numerical model at scale 1. A detailed finite elements (FE) model of shear wall is developped and its predictions are confronted to quasi-static and dynamic experimental results for validation. A simplified FE model of shear wall (macro element) is used to generate a numerical model at the building scale. This macro element, calibrated on the detailed FE model, accurately reproduces the dynamic behavior of a shear wall despite its simplicity. The numerical model of timber-frame buildings will be used to study, locally and globally, their behavior against earthquake in order to propose construction details and design adapted to these structures in seismic areas.

Interação entre conversores chaveados com baixa ondulação e células de combustível / Interaction between low-ripple switched converters and fuel cel ls

Marquezini, Diego Dias 17 January 2007 (has links)
This dissertation discusses the interaction between fuel cells and the DC-DC converter just connected across its terminals. For that, it presents a modified algorithm to represent the dynamic behavior of fuel cell stacks as much the current ripple effects from power converters on such cells. PEM type fuel cells (Proton Exchange Membrane) are studied to get a reasonable model of the electrochemical and electric characteristics of the involved phenomena in the generation of electric energy from fuel cells. A T filter is used as interface between the fuel cell and the DC-DC converter. This converter must prevent large current ripples going through the cell terminals as well as keeping constant the power flow between the FC and the link DC to prevent itself of possible current transient. To connect it to the grid it was used a three-phase DC-AC converter to inject or to absorb current from the grid at reduced ripple distortion and to stabilize the DC link voltage. DC current controllers were designed to curb the link DC and AC currents within reasonable limits. Validation of the model was carried out through computer simulation in order to have an evaluation of the control system behavior both for the stack and for the injection and/or absorption of energy. Also, theoretical results with practical data from a fuel stack were compared with respect to the load variation across its terminals.

Synthèses, mise en forme et étude des propriétés magnétiques de ferrites (NiZnCuCo)Fe2O4 en fréquence / Syntheses, shaping and study of the frequency dependence of (NiZnCuCo)Fe2O4 ferrite magnetic properties

Frajer, Gaëlla 25 January 2018 (has links)
The high commutation rate of the wide gap semiconductor (GaN) allows operating with switching frequency above 1MHz in power converters. However, current magnetic materials comprising passive components in power converters cannot sustain the rise in the operating frequency, especially above 1 MHz. The main limitation comes from the sharp increase in power losses creating thermal dissipation inside the magnetic core. The core-losses are due to dynamic magnetization process (including domain wall movement and spin rotation) and they increase with the frequency. (Ni,Zn,Cu)Fe2O4 spinel ferrite is currently the best magnetic material with limited core-losses. The objective of the Ph.D. is to experimentally contribute to the understanding of the link between the microstructure and the static and dynamic magnetic properties.Synthesis process of (Ni,Zn,Cu)Fe2O4 spinel ferrite such as sold-state reaction and Pechini method were studied. The structural and magnetic properties were systematically measured and correlated together. We managed to master the elaboration and produce high density ferrite with controlled grain size (about few µm) and high density (d>92% dth). Results suggest that ferrites synthesized by Pechini method can be considered as an interesting basis for the design of low-loss magnetic components alternatively to the conventional route. The analysis on core-loss showed that the results are compatible with a dissipation mechanism linked to spin damping inside domain walls. It justifies the production of well-densified massive pieces composed of small grains and cobalt to obtain low core-loss for large amplitude excitation (up to 25mT).

In regard to relation between compaction and rutting parameters, linear models did not fit accurately, excepting some CDI and TDIm ones.

Analyse de survie bivariée à facteurs latents : théorie et applications à la mortalité et à la dépendance / Bivariate Survival Analysis with Latent Factors : Theory and Applications to Mortality and Long-Term Care

Lu, Yang 24 June 2015 (has links)
Chapitre I introduit le cadre général. / This thesis comprises three essays on identification and estimation problems in bivariate survival models with individual and common frailties. The first essay proposes a model to capture the mortality dependence of the two spouses in a couple. It allows to disentangle two types of dependencies : the broken heart syndrome and the dependence induced by common risk factors. An analysis of their respective effects on joint insurance premia is also proposed. The second essay shows that, under reasonable model specifications that take into account the longevity effect, we can identify the joint distribution of the long-term care and mortality risks from the observation of cohort mortality data only. A numerical application to the French population data is proposed. The third essay conducts an analysis of the tail of the joint distribution for general bivariate survival models with proportional frailty. We show that under appropriate assumptions, the distribution of the joint residual lifetimes converges to a limit distribution, upon normalization. This can be used to analyze the mortality and long-term care risks at advanced ages. In parallel, the heterogeneity distribution among survivors converges also to a semi-parametric limit distribution. Properties of the limit distributions, their identifiability from the data, as well as their implications are discussed.
