Biologické charakteristiky jedinců z barokní fáze pohřebiště Sv. Benedikta v Praze - analýza demografické krize / Biological characteristics of individuals from the baroque level of St. Benedict cemetery in Prague - an analysis of the demographical crisis

Pinkr, Tomáš January 2015 (has links)
The target of this thesis was to identify mass graves in the cemetery around the former St. Benedict Church in Prague dated after 1635 and to determine, by means of dental epigenetic traits, if there is a biological relation among selected groups of mass graves and if they belong to one population. The analysis of the archaeology-anthropologic documentation was the essential part of this thesis. By this analysis it was possible to identify mass graves and to combine them to higher groups according to the following criteria: a location of the mass grave at the cemetery, a position of individual burials in the mass graves, the burial way and artefacts found. The previous research made by the French-Czech team, namely radiocarbon dating of several graves, was also supportive. The actual investigation of the biological relation (similarity) of individuals from mass graves was carried out by means of dental epigenetic traits. These traits were evaluated according to verbal description and plaster casts of teeth (Turner at al. 1991). The following statistical methods were used for the evaluation: a measure of divergence and the mean measure of divergence stating the unlikeness of probability occurrence of corresponding features. The relation of individuals, from mass graves, and French and Austro-Hungarian...

Špitál sv. Alžběty na Pohořelci. Dochované oltářní obrazy ze špitální kaple. / Saint Elizabeth's spital in Pohořelec. The extant altarpieces of the spital's chapel.

Lorencová, Veronika January 2017 (has links)
Saint Elizabeth's spital in Pohořelec The extant altarpieces of the spital's chapel Abstract This thesis deals with the Saint Elizabeth's spital in Pohořelec near the monastery of Premonstratensians in Strahov. This spital was founded by the abbot Kaspar Questenberg and was located in the western part of Pohořelec. However, the original building wasn't preserved, because it had to yield to Prague's fortification in the 60's of the 17th century. Under the abbot Vincenc Makarius Frank the new spital was constructed. There was the chapel dedicated to the patron St. Elisabeth, which was mentioned in the written sources since the beginning of the hospital existence. During few years there were also ordered altarpieces. The contemporary literature associates only two paintings of saints with Saint Elizabeth's spital (St. Barbara and St. Rosalia). These paintings were placed on the side altars of the chapel and today are in the possession of the Royal Canonry of Premonstratensians at Strahov. Thanks to the preserved written sources, we were able to discover additional information of the spital's equipment and the chapel main altarpiece. This thesis summarizes the previous research and determines templates of altarpieces and their sources of inspiration. The attention is also aimed to the history of the spital,...

Kostel sv. Jiljí v Nymburce / Church of St. Jiljí in Nymburk

Kolečková-Veselá, Jana January 2018 (has links)
This work explores architectural elements of the church of the St. Jiljí in Nymburk. It deals with their description and analysis and sorts them according to the stages of development of the church. The present state of the object results from the restauration made by K. Hilbert at the beginning of 20th century. As there is no newer literature dedicated to the restored church in Nymburk, I have focused above all on this period. In my work the restauration of the church is incorporated in the context of specific periods. The work mentions the reasons of the new interest in historical monuments in the middle of 19th century, the political situation in the town, the reforms of the Church and other circumstances which led to the realization of the project. I describe in details Hilbert's initial projects of the restauration of the church and the circumstances leading to the restauration. I also mention the development of the autor's views and the causes of the changes of the project, and the possible sources of inspiration of K. Hilbert and how he was influenced by medieval and modern art. On this example I show the application of the new theories in the care of historical monuments. This attitude helped K. Hilbert to become a creative artist and to increase the value of this historical monument by...

Ježíšovy výroky o učednictví v Matoušově evangeliu / Jesus' Sayings on Discipleship in the Gospel of Matthew

Zeman, Jiří January 2016 (has links)
The thesis deals with the Jesus' logia about vocation contained in Matthew 8, taking into account the synoptic parallel of the text in Luke. The original Greek text is, first, translated into Czech and then linguistically analyzed. The thesis further examines the original setting of the logia and their foundation in the hypothetical Q source. With the help of selected commentators (France, Hagner, Osborne, Fausti) are the logia and their meaning interpreted within the wider context of contemporary research. These modern interpretations are supplemented by views of the early Church Fathers. The method used in the present thesis is the analysis of the original text and a comparison of relevant commentaries.

Hodnocení stavu dřevěných prvků krovu kostela sv. Jakuba v Brně pomocí ultrazvukové metody s vyhodnocením míry jejich poškození

Dvořák, Radomír January 2017 (has links)
This final work deals with the evaluation of a truss structure and its wooden elements of St. James church located in Brno. The building is enrolled to the list of a National cultural monuments. The aim was to detect the damage done as well as to determine its range to particular elements. The evaluation of a truss was based on a survey made by sensoric and instrumental methods. Two devices were used for these measurements - Arborsonic Decay Detector and Fakopp UltraSonic Timer at which the spike and cylindrical sensors were used. To compare and determine the conformity or differentiation of the above said ultrasonic devices were used statistical analysis of the results. The structure was found infested with wood decaying insects and wood-destroying fungi mainly in tie beams, collar ties and pentagonal purlins. This damage was evaluated and the level of damage was determined together with its range. The result was recorded in drawings (top view plan). This drawing together with other results will serve as a basis for further phase of reconstruction which is planned to be made to this historically valuable structure.

The diploma thesis deals with the iconography and cult of St. Joseph in the Czech lands during the Baroque period. The first part of the thesis deals with the way St. Joseph is presented in sources, namely in canonical gospels, apocryphal gospels of childhood and in legends. The development of the cult and iconography of St. Joseph from antiquity to modern times is also outlined. The main part of the thesis focuses on the cult and iconography of St. Joseph in the Czech lands in the 17th and 18th centuries. The influence of the Habsburgs on the spread of this cult is taken into account. Attention is paid to the reception of St. Joseph among the patron saints of Bohemia and the introduction of his public holiday in 1654, which arose on the initiative of Emperor Ferdinand III. The next part of the thesis analyzes the responses to the reception of St. Joseph among the patron saints of Bohemia in art and also on the examples of his depiction in Baroque art in the Czech lands. The researched monuments include the fountain with the column of St. Joseph in the New Town of Prague, the statue of St. Joseph on Charles Bridge, painting of the Holy Family in the Church of Our Lady before Týn and the St. Joseph's painting cycle in Krzeszów in Silesia. Benátské vlivy na dílo Boccaccia Bocaccina / Venetian influances on the Boccaccio Boccaccino's work

Jiráková, Hana January 2013 (has links)
(in English) The key theme of my thesis are venetian influences on the Boccaccio Boccaccino's work, who was one of the most important exponents of the Cremonese school of painters. Initially he worked in Genoa, Cremona and Milan and he was influenced by the painters as Leonardo, Bramantino and Boltraffio. In the years 1497-1500 Boccaccino is documented in Ferrara. In this period he executed so-called tondo Gronau, The Christ on the way to Calvary, The Virgin and Child, now in Boston, The Virgin and Child, now in Padua, The Adoration of the Shepherds, now in Naples and Dead Christ supported by an Angel. This works show the influence of Bramantino, umbrian school but also early influence of venetian art. In 1500 or 1501 he painted the altarpiece with Virgin and Child with Sts Peter, Michael, John the Baptist and John the Evangelist for the church of S. Giuliano in Venice. Models of this composition are the S. Cassiano altarpiece of Antonello da Messina and Virgin and Child with Saints which Giovanni Bellini executed for the church of S. Giobbe. Boccaccino's image in S.Giuliano is also inspired by Ercole de'Roberti and Lorenzo Costa. His colours show the influence of Giorgione. In 1506 is Boccaccino documented in Venice but also in Cremona. In the years 1500-1506 he stayed probably in Venice, but he...

Praha a chudí: chudinská péče v Praze v letech 1864-1929 / Prague and the poor: social services for the poor in Prague in the years 1864-1929

Janovská, Veronika January 2014 (has links)
The care for the poor, or poor care, has meant an important help for the needy ones at the times of hardship. As per the laws, it was their home village that was supposed to have taken care of them, which has brought several problems. The main law for the poor care was the December 1868 Bill aimed specifically at the poor care. It was this act that had transferred the care for the poor from the state to the individual villages' and towns' hands. This Diploma Thesis is aimed at the Prague's poor care and its development within the time period of 1864 till 1929. It was during this period of time that the traditional poor care was transforming into the social work. As such, it was then understood to be not only the results-providing care, but rather the tool for preventive measures. Its competencies have since then included the new questions raised. Its providers did no longer wish to only hand out the social payments, but to also educate and increase the life conditions of the cared for persons. In 1929, the Prague Social Institution - so called Masaryk's Houses - was brought to action, and had fulfilled all of these parameters. Throughout the followed period it was the Main Directorate that had been in the lead of the Prague's poor care. The Directorate having the responsibility to assure the...
