Neumovaný breviář Pu VI E 4c z kláštera sv. Jiří / Neumed Breviary Pu VI E 4c from St. George's Monastery

Seifertová, Tereza January 2012 (has links)
The master thesis focuses on a neumed breviary, which presently resides in the Czech National Library under the signature VI.E.4c. The source, originally from the library of women's Benedictine monastery of St. George at the Prague Castle, dates from the middle of 12th century and is the oldest neumed manuscript from the convent. However, it is not clear where it was created and for whom. The breviary might have been intended for the convent from the beginning or got to its library later. Therefore, the main aim of this work is to find out the provenance of the codex. The first chapter deals with the physical description of the manuscript. Especially the musical-palaeographic aspects are inspected, both the original and younger (written usually in margins). The newly discovered fragment XXIV.A.65, which originally belonged to the breviary, is also investigated. With the use of these aspects, the possibilities of the source's provenance are specified. The content of the breviary is examined in the second chapter. The single sections of the manuscript are described: calendar, tonary, Commune Sanctorum and the liturgical year itself. The chapter also mentions some of the typical specifics, which appearred during the work at the musical-liturgical index of the third and fourth section of the breviary,...

Analysis Of Stochastic And Non-stochastic Volatility Models

Ozkan, Pelin 01 September 2004 (has links) (PDF)
Changing in variance or volatility with time can be modeled as deterministic by using autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic (ARCH) type models, or as stochastic by using stochastic volatility (SV) models. This study compares these two kinds of models which are estimated on Turkish / USA exchange rate data. First, a GARCH(1,1) model is fitted to the data by using the package E-views and then a Bayesian estimation procedure is used for estimating an appropriate SV model with the help of Ox code. In order to compare these models, the LR test statistic calculated for non-nested hypotheses is obtained.

SUKUPOVÁ, Dobromila January 2015 (has links)
Current state: The Congregation of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo is the largest congregation of nuns in the Czech Republic. Its charism living mercy in contemplation is still valid. Religious sisters mainly care for sick people, the aged and the needy people, as they were serving them in the beginning of their history. The topic of this paper 'Education and care of nurses Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo operating in the Czech Republic' is original and has not yet been treated to such extent and with this focus. Some works have been written and published, but they cover our topic only partially. This study is a compilation of information, enriched with memories of those sisters who remember the early days. The aim of the thesis: The first aim of this thesis is to map education and care of nurses of The Congregation of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in the Czech Republic in its historical development with emphasis on health care and social facilities. The second aim is to compare education, care and status of religious sisters in the health-care team in each historical period. Methodology: In this thesis qualitative research was employed. There were two procedures of data collection used: exploration of written documents and narrative interviews. The research file for narrative interviews consists of ten persons. All respondents are women, members of The Congregation of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo, who attained appropriate education for the profession of a nurse and carried out this job in a hospital. Respondents were segmented into three groups according to respective historical periods. The first historical period starts with the arrival of religious sisters from France to Prague in 1837 and finishes in 1948. The second historical period follows up the previous one and ends in 1989. The third historical period spans the time from 1989 till the present. The total number of recorded and assessed interviews is ten. Narrative interview were recorded on a voice recorder and consequently transcribed into the written form and further processed. To analyze the text we used open coding, performed by the paper-and-pencil tests. Findings were interpreted using 'card sorting' technique. Results: Education and care of nurses of Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo have always met the requirements of concrete times. Specific aspects of care for the sick and the needy was also influenced by other factors. Among others the development od medical science and political situation of individual historical periods. The care of Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo has always been based on their dedication and the vow of mercy. Conclusion: This is a compact work, describing education and care of nurses of Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of St. Charles Borromeo in contexts of different historical periods and in broader connection with the history of nursing care.

Förekomst av fågelarter i skogsdominerade och åkerdominerade hagmarker i södra och centrala Sverige / Occurrence of Bird Species in Forest-dominated and Field-dominated Semi-Natural Pastures in South and Central Sweden

Pettersson, Anna January 2018 (has links)
Biodiversity can be crucial for an ecosystem to uphold its’ functions. Thus, is population declines a major threat to biodiversity. One type of species-rich habitat linked to several ecosystem services is the Swedish pasture. Albeit during the latter half of the 20th-century observations could be made of many population declines in several species of farmland birds. The population decline is directly linked to intensification of arable lands due to method modernization, conversion of pastures to fields and pesticide use. This study focused on comparing the fauna of birds in pasture lands surrounded by forest-dominated or cropland-dominated areas within a 500 m radius of a semi-natural pasture. 100plots were extracted (50 of each land use) for analysis. Data was provided by voluntarily collected stocktaking from the environmental surveillance program Svensk Fågeltaxering. A CCA was made on the species composition with amounts of forest and amounts of fields as variables. The effect on species richness from land use was calculated using GLM. The result showed no difference between bird species richness or species composition between forest-dominated pastures and cropland dominated pastures. This could indicate that birds are no longer affected by the intensification of modern arable farming or that local habitat elements like hedges and ditches are structures more critical factors for nesting farmland birds than land use within a 500 m radius surrounding pastures.
