The aim of the thesis is to map and describe changes that have taken place in the field of political debates on the Czech Television (in the period from 1989 to the present). The work describes changes regarding the form and the content of programs and its debates. There also appears a critical assessment of that development (and of some prevailing trend) of the political issue programs (on Czech TV) in the thesis. Hypothesis relates to the assumpiton that a given period occured significant changes in the form and content of the broadcasted. Description of those changes is the main aim. The author proceeds in five steps. First, the introduction sets the theme in context, mentions a historical overview of political discussion programs broadcasted on Czech Television (from 1989 to the present) and consequently characterizes them. The first chapter will bring the presentation of the works from the field of political science and media- science, which will serve as a theoretical guide in analyzing the contents. The second chapter brings the key analysis of the programs using the theory and designed methodology. The third chapter evaluates the analysis, summarizes the empirically observed data and confirms or rejects the hypothesis. The portrayal of law in television programs on the example of the series Judge Barbara Dominika Muschaliková Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the depiction of law and lawyers in Czech serial production on the example of the TV show Judge Barbara. It analysis means the creators use to capture the judicial environment and the impressions of the judicial environment viewers get from the show. It also compares this depiction with reality and evaluates the educational potential of the show. The second part seeks to answer the question of whether it is ethically permissible for real judges and lawyers to participate in the production of these programs, draws attention to the complexities of professional advice on television production and gives future legal advisers recommendations how to proceed when asked to partipate in such project. This diploma thesis discusses the possible influences that media especialy television has on langugage development in pre-school children. In first part we talk about speech development, speech difficulties, history of media, studies about influence of watching TV on the personality of the child. Practical part examines influence of watching TV on child and his speech.

Les familles et les questions de société qui s’y rapportent occupent une place politiquement et symboliquement importante aux Etats-Unis depuis l’installation des colonies anglaises dans le continent Américain au XVIIe siècle. Elles sont omniprésentes dans les fictions télévisées depuis les débuts de la télévision commerciale américaine, à la fin des années 1940. Aujourd’hui, il est difficile de citer une série qui ne parle pas directement ou indirectement de la famille. Pourtant, elles sont peu nombreuses à en faire leur sujet principal. Dans les années 1950 et 1960, les familles sont déjà le sujet de séries télévisées, que ce soit dans des sitcoms, des soap operas ou des westerns. A partir des années 1970, elles commencent à être l’objet principal de séries dramatiques de prime time : des family dramas. La chercheuse Ella Taylor, dans Prime Time Families, définit le family drama comme « une série dont l’action se passe principalement dans la maison » (« a dramatic series set in the home »). L’observation des évolutions du family drama des années 1970 à nos jours vise à comprendre l’évolution des conceptions de la famille dans l’imaginaire collectif de la société américaine. Cette étude chronologique, divisée en trois époques, analysera la généalogie du genre du family drama. La première période commence en 1972, le début de la diffusion de la série The Waltons (CBS, 1972-1981) et se termine en 1983, soit à la fin de la diffusion de Little House on the Prairie (NBC, 1974-1983). La deuxième période commence en 1978, avec le début de la diffusion de Dallas (CBS, 1978-1991) et se termine en 1993, soit à la fin de la diffusion de Knots Landing (CBS, 1979-1993). La troisième période s’est ouverte en 1994, avec le début de la diffusion de Party of Five (Fox, 1994-2000) et se termine en 2015 avec Parenthood (NBC, 2010-2015). / Families have occupied a politically and symbolically important place in the United States since the settlement of the English colonies in the American continent in the seventeenth century. They have been ubiquitous in TV drama since the early days of American commercial television in the late 1940s. Today, it is hard to find a television series that does not speak directly or indirectly about family. Yet, only few make them their main subject. In the 1950s and 1960s, families were already the subject of television programs, whether in sitcoms, soap operas or westerns. From the 1970s, they began to be the main focus of prime-time drama shows: family drama was born. The researcher Ella Taylor, in Prime Time Families, defines the family drama as "a dramatic series set in the home". The observation of evolutions of the family drama from the 1970s to now aims at understanding the evolution of the perceptions of the family in the collective imagination of American society. This chronological study, divided into three eras, analyzes the genealogy of the family drama as a genre. The first period began in 1972, with the beginning of the broadcast of The Waltons (CBS, 1972-1981) and ended in 1983, at the end of the broadcast of Little House on the Prairie (NBC, 1974-1983). The second period begins in 1978, with the start of the Dallas broadcast (CBS, 1978-1991) and ends in 1993, at the end of the broadcast of Knots Landing (CBS, 1979-1993). The third period began in 1994 with the launch of the release of Party of Five (Fox, 1994-2000) and ends in 2015 with Parenthood (NBC, 2010-2015).

Les séries télévisées policières américaines ont envahi les grilles de programmation des chaînes françaises et leur assurent les meilleures audiences. Les Experts, Les Experts : Miami, Les Experts : Manhattan, NCIS, NCIS : Los Angeles, Cold Case, Mentalist, FBI Portés Disparus, Bones, Dexter, Esprits Criminels, The Closer, la liste des séries policières américaines diffusées en prime time sur les six grandes chaînes nationales françaises est longue. Ce travail de thèse avait pour objectif de mieux comprendre la manière dont les téléspectateurs donnent sens à ces séries policières et les intègrent dans leur vie quotidienne en utilisant la notion d’interprétation comme fil conducteur du raisonnement. L’enquête repose sur trente-cinq entretiens individuels, sept entretiens de groupe et la distribution de deux questionnaires auprès d’une centaine de téléspectateurs qui affirmaient apprécier ou non les séries policières américaines. Ont ainsi été mis en lumière les éléments constitutifs des univers fictionnels de ces séries policières américaines qui permettent de créer une complicité durable avec les téléspectateurs interrogés. / French TV channels place a lot American cop shows on their schedule especially on prime time because these shows always bring them the best audience ratings. CSI, CSI : Miami, CSI : NY, NCIS, NCIS : Los Angeles, Cold Case, The Mentalist, Without a trace, Bones, Dexter, Criminal Minds, The Closer, the list of shows on the air is long. We would like to understand how viewers interpret all these TV shows and how they use them in their daily life. The notion of interpretation was the central point of our survey based on thirty five interviews, seven focus groups and two questionnaires delivered to hundreds of viewers who sometimes didn’t like watching American cop shows. We have discovered which elements of these shows are able to create a strong complicity with viewers.

Este trabajo de investigación se ha centrado en el análisis del tratamiento que se le dio, en algunos programas, a la festividad del día de los muertos, en el cementerio Nueva Esperanza, durante el 2018. Para llevar a cabo este proyecto se seleccionaron cuatro reportajes que fueron presentados en los siguientes programas: Día 6, Domingo al día, Al sexto día y 24 horas edición central. En ellos se analizaron la forma en que han abordado la creación de la identidad de los personajes, los elementos que se han usado para elaborarlos, las acciones que son plasmadas y la relación que existen entre los vivos y los muertos durante esta fecha. Al profundizar el tema se hallaron patrones que han sido analizados en conjunto con el marco teórico, focus group y entrevistas que fueron hechas para complementar esta investigación. / This research work has focused on the analysis of the treatment that was given, in some programs, to the feast of the day of the dead, in the Nueva Esperanza cemetery, during 2018. To carry out this project, four reports were selected which were presented in the following programs: Day 6, Sunday a day, On the sixth day and 24 hours central edition. They analyzed the way in which they have approached the creation of the identity of the characters, the elements that have been used to elaborate them, the actions that are embodied and the relationship between the living and the dead during this date. In deepening the subject, patterns were found that have been analyzed in conjunction with the theoretical framework, focus group and interviews that were made to complement this research. / Trabajo de investigación

This thesis deals with the influence of TV series and their strong heroines on female audience. The aim of this work is to find out whether selected female characters influence the general view of the femine beauty ideal, whether the viewers were in any way inspired by strong female characters and whether these series have opened up some social issues. These goals were formulated into three research questions, which will be answered in the conclusion. The work is divided into three main parts - theoretical, methodological and practical. The theoretical part aims to acquaint the reader with the theoretic basis needed to understand the researched issues. The methodological part presents research methods with all its advantages and disadvantages. The last practical part is focused on research and interpretation of the obtained data. A qualitative method is used to achieve the results, specifically the grounded theory, which is used for the analysis and subsequent interpretation of data obtained from interviews.
