As mudanças provocadas principalmente pelo uso de computadores possibilitam avanços significativos no que se refere ao acesso aos catálogos informatizados da Biblioteca, às bases de dados on-line (bibliográficas e textuais), considerando-se a velocidade da informação e a abrangência da busca, que podem contribuir indiretamente para o desenvolvimento pessoal bem como da sociedade como um todo. É preciso disseminar e usufruir a informação com qualidade; para isso, é necessário dominar todos os recursos, produtos e serviços disponibilizados pela Biblioteca do Campus da UNESP, em Marília - SP, foco desta pesquisa com o objetivo de particularizar-se o perfil do usuário, prepará-lo para buscar e encontrar as informações que necessita e que a Biblioteca filtra, direcionando-as para o seu público. Assim, a aplicação da técnica de entrevista permitiu colher dados e informações cujo resultado mostrou as necessidades dos profissionais de ter domínio e habilidades específicas, a fim de exercer com competência a disseminação da informação, bem como para educar/preparar o usuário no manuseio de técnicas de busca, por meio de redes de computadores e demais tecnologias eletrônicas, num processo contínuo que envolve a interação entre o usuário e o profissional da informação, na disseminação da informação. / Abstract: To ameliorate the quality of the services in the academicals libraries have been a constant preoccupation of the libraries professionals that work and conduct these services, or just, of the one that use them. The changes provoked mainly by computer's use make possible significant progress in what refers in the access to the library's computerized catalogs, to the data's bases on-line (bibliographical and textual) considering the information's speed and the inclusion of the search, that can contribute indirectly for the personal development as well as the society like a whole. It's necessary to disseminate and to usufruct the information with quality; for this, it's necessary to dominate all of the resources products and services available for the UNESP's Library in Marília-SP, focus of this research with the objective of been particularized the user's profile, prepare him to seek and find the information's that he needs and that the Library filters addressing them for your public. Os ambientes digitais favorecem a transposição dos limites convencionais de representação e disseminação do conhecimento registrado, incorporando novos elementos aos processos de produção, organização e recuperação de informações. Considerando as ontologias como uma nova e instigante categoria de sistemas de representação do conhecimento, buscou-se, a partir de um diálogo interdisciplinar, fundamentos que possibilitem analisar as aproximações desta nova abordagem computacional com os instrumentos e métodos tradicionalmente utilizados no área disciplinar de Organização do Conhecimento, investigando em que medida a área de Ciência da Informação pode contribuir para o desenvolvimento de ontologias e analisando os reflexos de sua utilização em bibliotecas digitais. Para tanto, foi realizado um estudo das principais teorias e tecnologias relacionadas ao desenvolvimento de ontologias e bibliotecas digitais, contextualizando-as a partir do corpus teórico da área de Ciência da Informação. Deste modo, foi desenvolvida a Ontologia de Informações Referencias (OIR) e um protótipo de Biblioteca Digital baseado em ontologias, denominado como BibliOntO, com o objetivo de analisar a aplicabilidade de ontologias em bibliotecas digitais. The digital environments favor the transposition of the conventional limits of representation and dissemination of the registered knowledge, incorporating new elements to the processes of production, organization and recovery of information. Considering the ontologies as a new and riveting category of systems of representation of knowledge, we searched, starting from a interdisciplinary dialogue, bases that allow to analyze the approaches of this new computational approach with the instruments and methods traditionally used in the area of Knowledge Organization, investigating in what scale the area of Information Science can contribute to the development of ontologies and analyzing the consequences of its use in digital libraries. Therefore, a study of the main theories and technologies related to the development of ontologies and digital libraries was carried through, contextualized in the theoretical framework of the area of Information Science. In this way, the Ontology of Referential Informations (OIR) and a prototype of a Digital Library based on ontologies, called BibliOntO, was developed with the objective of analyzing the applicability of ontologies in digital libraries. Nesse contexto, surge um grande desafio a ser enfrentado, que é a preservação das informações digitais, principalmente em função das ininterruptas mudanças e avanços das tecnologias de informação e comunicação (TIC) e do ambiente no qual essas informações estão inseridas, e, com ele, uma nova área de pesquisa, a preservação digital, com sua pauta própria de problemas, como a obsolescência tecnológica dos equipamentos (hardware), dos programas de computador (software), dos suportes e dos formatos de armazenamento. Além dos problemas técnicos, a preservação digital envolve também aspectos culturais, legais e administrativos. Apesar de as discussões sobre a preservação digital serem uma preocupação crescente no contexto atual, esta pesquisa justifica-se por se observar, na literatura, a necessidade de um aprofundamento das questões relativas ao tema, uma vez que existem ainda poucas iniciativas nacionais e uma carência de modelos de gestão para preservação digital que abordem todos os aspectos a ela relacionados. Como a aplicabilidade da preservação digital é extensa, adotaram-se as instituições de ensino superior (IES) como universo desta pesquisa, devido à explosão documentária em meio digital que tem sido observada nessas instituições, em razão principalmente do grande crescimento das atividades de ensino, pesquisa e extensão. In this context, preservation of digital information emerges as a great challenge to be faced by information professionals, mainly derived from the constant enhancements and changes in information and communication technology (ICT), and in the environments in which information is inserted. Along with this new challenge, a new research area has been initiated, that of digital preservation whose agenda includes problems such as obsolescence of technological equipment (hardware), of computer programs (software), of information supports and of storage formats. Besides technological problems, digital preservation involves cultural, legal and managerial aspects. Although the concerns of the Information Area on the theme have been increasing, there is a need in literature to offer a sound theoretical discussion on issues related to it, and this is the proposal which may turn this research relevant. From the infinite universe of digital preservation applicability, the environment chosen for this research was that of Higher Education Institutions (HEI), where there has been an explosion of documents in digital form produced by teaching-learning activities in graduation and post graduation programs, research projects and community services. Observamos o crescimento do número de adeptos a essa tecnologia desde sua criação, em meados da década de 1990 e, dentre eles, destacam-se os usuários idosos, os quais encontraram na Web um ambiente em que podem desenvolver diversas atividades, como a comodidade em realizar tarefas cotidianas, de se informarem sobre questões relacionadas ao envelhecimento humano entre outras. Entretanto, verificamos que muitos ambientes informacionais da Web não possuem uma Arquitetura da Informação desenvolvida com foco nas necessidades específicas desse público, dificultando sua usabilidade e acessibilidade e, conseqüentemente, dificultando a inclusão digital e social desse grupo de usuários. We can see the increase of people using this technology, since its creation in the beginning of 1990 decade, and we can highlight the elderly users. These users find in the Web an environment in which they can develop different activities, as easily dealing with daily duties and getting information about subjects related to aging, among others. However, we verify that the Web information environments do not have an Information Architecture developed with the specific necessities of this public, making difficult the use and access, and then, making hard the digital and social inclusion of this users group. In this context, our objective is to identify elements that enable the social and digital inclusion of the elderly using the study of Information Architecture, Usability, Accessibility and Information Behavior, in the Information Science context, as well as the application of this elements in a digital repository built for the Universidade Aberta à Terceira Idade - UNATI - UNESP. We consider that a digital repository that deals with subjects of interests and production of elderly and that presents inclusive elements makes possible their digital and social inclusion. Quando a linguagem documentária não corresponde às necessidades de representação dos conteúdos dos documentos, realizada pelos bibliotecários indexadores e das solicitações de buscas bibliográficas por assunto dos usuários, afeta a atuação desses processos, comprometendo a realização de buscas e serviços. Realizou-se, como proposta, um estudo de avaliação do uso de linguagem documentária alfabética de catálogos coletivos online, com enfoque nas tecnologias de representação e recuperação da informação, na perspectiva das bibliotecas universitárias e no contexto sociocognitivo de bibliotecários indexadores e usuários. When the indexing language does not correspond to the necessities of representation of the contents of the documents, carried out by the indexers and the requests of bibliographical searches through the users' subject, it affects the performance of those processes, compromising the accomplishment of searches and services. The proposal is to carry through an evaluation study of the alphabetic indexing language use of the online collective catalogs, with a main focus on the technologies of representation and information retrieval, in the perspective of the university libraries and in the socio-cognitive context of indexers and users.
