An Analysis of the Methods and Effectiveness of the Downward Flow of Communications at Texas Instruments Incorporated

Saunders, Gail S. 08 1900 (has links)
This study is for the purpose of identifying the flow of internal downward communication and its effectiveness in a particular large industry, Texas Instruments Incorporated. Specifically, the following questions are examined in this study: (1) Has information which has been sent down by top management been spread to all levels, and is it being understood? (2) Are employees at all levels receiving the information they desire and sometimes need for their work? (3) For different types of subject matter, what channels are being used to transmit messages down the system, and are they effective mediums?

Father Knows Best: One Corporation's Use of Televised Images and Rhetoric of Family and Fairness for Control of Employee Population

Giese, Jon Mark 08 1900 (has links)
This thesis is a close textual analysis of three videotapes produced at Texas Instruments. The first chapter outlines the background of corporate video and some of the methods used in the analysis. Chapter II discusses the origins of televisual conventions and traces their migration to the corporate sector's video production efforts. Chapter III is the analysis of three videotapes produced at Texas Instruments. Chapter IV contains conclusions and discussion of the findings, including how cultural myths are articulated and produced, The appendix contains freeze frame examples of the shows analyzed and representative frames from Father Knows Best and The Donna Reed Show for use as a basis of comparison.

Globální trendy v high-tech průmyslu: případová studie Texas Instruments / Global trends in high-tech industry: Texas Instruments case study

Vondrášek, Štěpán January 2009 (has links)
Work deals with global trends in high-tech industry which are mainly consolidation, concentrations and regionalization. It provides the definition of the high-tech industry, then focuses on specific sector - semiconductor industry. It describes the characteristics of the manufacturing process and workforce. A special part is devoted to government policies regards to the semiconductors research and development. The last part is devoted to a case study of the American company - Texas Instruments Inc. which has been playing the important role in the world semiconductor industry.

Factors Affecting Exercise Adherence among Participants, Nonparticipants and Dropouts of a Worksite Health and Fitness Program

Orsak, Katherine Cecil 08 1900 (has links)
This study examines the relationship between exercise adherence and several factors: self-motivation; attitudinal commitment; predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing (PER) factors; and barriers related to exercise. The sample (N=431) consists of employees at Texas Instruments, Incorporated in Dallas, Texas. The sample was placed into six comparison groups: high adherers, low adherers, nonparticipants who exercise, nonparticipants who do not exercise, dropouts who exercise and dropouts who do not exercise. Using a one-way ANOVA, the results show significance (p<.01) among the groups for: self-motivation and barriers. Attitudinal commitment and PER factors did not show significance. The results can be applied to worksite health programs to increase exercise adherence among employee populations.

Porting the GCC-Backend to a VLIW-Architecture / Portierung des GCC-Backends auf eine VLIW-Architektur

Parthey, Jan 26 July 2004 (has links) (PDF)
This diploma thesis discusses the implementation of a GCC target for the Texas Instruments TMS320C6000 DSP platform. To this end, it makes use of mechanisms offered by GCC for porting to new target architectures. GCC internals such as the handling of conditional jumps and the layout of stack frames are investigated and applied to the new architecture.

Optimizing the GCC Suite for a VLIW Architecture / Optimierung der GCC Suite für eine VLIW Architektur

Strätling, Adrian 16 December 2004 (has links) (PDF)
This diploma thesis discusses the applicability of GCC optimization algorithms for the TI TMS320C6x processor family. Conditional and Parallel Execution is used to speed up the resulting code. It describes the optimization framework of the GCC version 4.0 and the implementation details.

Framtidens D250S Dual batteriladdare

Törmänen, Daniel January 2014 (has links)
This thesis aims to develop proposals and models for a modular electronics construction to a future D250S Dual battery charger. The aim also includes investigation of possibilities to use some of Texas Instruments C2000 microprocessors. The reason for this is that CTEK SWEDEN AB wants to renew the present D250S Dual battery charger and lower the manufacturing costs. The thesis work has involved gathering theoretical facts for the development of a design on the modular electronic construction, the choice on which microprocessor to use, the choice of electronic components and facts about peripheral equipment to the D250S Dual. With the theoretical there has been developed different solutions to the proposed hardware and software solutions with comparisons in aspects of positive and negative. The thesis work is only a feasibility study to a future D250S Dual. The development of a future D250S Dual needs more work to make it possible to do a proof of concept.

Introduction to automotive FMCW Radar Technologies : Using Texas Instruments mmWave AWR sensor series

Uphoff, Jan Luca January 2018 (has links)
The goal of the following thesis is to transfer radar basic theory in a practical work using Texas Instrument’s mmWave radar series. The range of practical applications for FMCW radars has increased, for example in automotive sector. Understanding the basics of radar mathematics in a simplified way, as well as the transfer from theory to practical work is important for any engineer working on radar projects. Even if the theory is known, the way from a theory to a running system can be hard, facing several problems, because the reality is limited. In two experiments, data from the radar is collected while cars are crossing the observation area of the radar. The data is then used to count the number of vehicles passing the observation area and to estimate the movement of the objects in the field of view.
