A imagem no espelho: o drama de uma ficção / The image in the mirror: the drama of a fiction

Ana Paula Rocha da Cunha 01 April 2014 (has links)
A imagem no espelho, a princípio fonte de júbilo, escamoteia um drama: o drama de um sujeito que se constitui a partir de uma ficção / This dissertation proposes to study the theme of the double from the filmic production by author Hanns Heinz Ewers called The student of Prague, as well as Mário de Sá-Carneiros tale named Lúcios confession. Ewers and Sá-Carneiros works are both from 1913. These narratives are organized around a love triangle and share the same tragic fate. Taking as a starting-readable texts by authors Freud and Rank in 1914, called On narcissism: an introduction and The double respectively, Lacan s article, The Mirror Stage as formative of the function of the I (1949) and his seminar on anxiety, thus we intend to establish a dialogue between literature and psychoanalysis, considering the issue of deployment of the self and its variants, ego splitting into multiple selves and the disappearance of the image. The image in the mirror, originally source of joy, hides a drama: the drama of an individual who is built up from a fiction

DOULÍKOVÁ, Radka January 2010 (has links)
My graduation thesis is called {\clq}qCrocks of Safari`` and it is divided into two main segments. The First part is theoretical which explains my inspiration, choice of theme and material, method of working - starting with design, ending with final artwork and its installation. It also considers the techniques of mosaic creation. It includes image documentation, which enriches and completes the text. The Second part is practical which includes its own graphic creation. That is two mosaic images made out of combined material {--} ceramics and glass (mirror) inserted into a metal frame. It features graphic structures and elements of an African fauna. It specifically interprets cut outs from herd of zebras and their typical stripes. My goal was to create abstract images where you can feel the character of used material and harmony of natural structures.

O espelho de Glatzel na avaliação da permeabilidade nasal em adultos / The glatzel mirror in the assessment of nasal patency in adults

Brescovici, Silvana Maria January 2004 (has links)
Objective The Glatzel mirror (Gm) is used at speech therapy offices for a prompt evaluation of the nasal patency. It has been described in 1898 by Zwaardemarker. However, there is no literature of validation studies. This study aimed the verification of the reproducibility of the Gm and the correlation between the condensation area and the subjective perception of nasal patency. Methods Twenty-five individuals were evaluated for five consecutive minutes (475 measurements per individual), every half-an-hour during four hours, every day, in the beginning of the afternoon, for five days, and every Thursday during five consecutive weeks. A visual analog scale was used to evaluate the breathing perception within the hour, day and week periods. Results The coefficient of correlation between the subjective perception of the nasal patency and the condensation area of the right and left areas sumed was r=0.04 (p=0.3761). The left was r=0.08 (p=0.0984) and the right was r=0.05 (p=0.2862). The medium unilateral and total coefficients of variation were, respectivelly, less then 15% and 12%, independently of the interval of test-retest timing. Conclusion No significant correlation has been noticed between the subjective perception and the nasal condensation area. The unilateral variability was higher than the total values (right + left) and there was no difference in the variability of nasal condensation areas on different moments in time.

Acompanhamento remoto para a terapia do espelho utilizando smartphone e realidade aumentada / Remote Assistance for Mirror Therapy using smartphone and augmented reality

Yuri Nehase Zuliani Goulart Magagnatto 12 April 2018 (has links)
Computational solutions developed for mobile devices are increasingly common. The popularization of mobile applications enabled the development of solutions for several areas of great potential, such as the health area, including Occupational Therapy. Among these solutions, papers presented several computational methods to support Mirror Therapy. Mirror therapy is a method that involves performing exercises with a healthy limb reflected in a mirror so that visualization helps in reducing pain and in rehabilitating the affected limb. This therapy has shown results, among others, in rehabilitation for individuals who report phantom limb pain or in post-stroke recovery. The literature presents computational solutions to, among others, allow visualization of the healthy limb from technologies of augmented reality and wearable devices. These solutions are often difficult to access and economically unfeasible. Previous work, conducted in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, resulted in the definition of a remote monitoring model that uses mobile devices to allow the monitoring of patients being treated by means of mirror therapy. One of the limitations found in this work was that the therapist was unable to automatically follow up if the patient was performing the therapy correctly. Exploring these contributions and limitations, this work aimed to propose a model that allows remote monitoring of mirror therapy with the support of augmented reality resources. As a computational support to the model, the application was developed for TEIRA (Interactive Mirror Therapy with Augmented Reality) which, used in conjunction with the Google Cardboard technology, allows the execution of mirror therapy with reality increased. In addition, with the integration of the TEIRA system with the ESPIM (Experience Sampling and Programmed Intervention Method) intervention system, it was possible to provide a remote monitoring method with data and video collection. Expert consultation indicates that the solution has potential benefits for patient monitoring during remote monitoring, which will help the patient perform the therapy correctly.

Génétique des mouvements anormaux : dyskinésies paroxystiques kinésigéniques et mouvements miroirs congénitaux / Genetics of movement disorders : paroxysmal kinesigenic dyskinesia and congenital mirror movements

Méneret, Aurélie 09 September 2015 (has links)
The objective of my work was to study the genetic bases of two movement disorders, congenital mirror movements (CMM) and paroxysmal kinesigenic dyskinesia (PKD). First we uncovered the second gene implicated in CMM, RAD51, and started to explore pathophysiological hypotheses. Then we collected DNA of 26 index cases of isolated CMM, and showed that almost 50% of them had a possibly pathogenic variant in RAD51 or in the first described gene of CMM, DCC. We subsequently ruled out the implication of a possible third gene, DNAL4, in 17 cases. Finally, we collaborated with a team from New Zealand to implicate a novel gene, NTN1, coding for the ligand of DCC, in two families and one sporadic case. Concerning PKD, we analyzed the first causative gene described, PRRT2, in a cohort of 42 index cases. We showed that PRRT2 is a major gene of PKD in the European population, involved in 65% of typical cases. We then contributed to show the implication of PRRT2 mutations in hemiplegic migraine, and conducted a review of the literature concluding that PRRT2 mutations can induce multiple types of paroxysmal disorders. We sequenced the exomes of one family and 10 trios negative for PRRT2, but were unable to uncover another causative gene. Finally, in two patients with atypical PKD, we found mutations in ADCY5, a gene recently implicated in complex forms of paroxysmal dyskinesia.

Analysis and Design of a High-Frequency RC Oscillator Suitable for Mass Production / Analys och konstruktion av en högfrekvent RC-svängningskrets lämplig för massproduktion

Dai, Jianxing January 2017 (has links)
Oscillators are components providing clock signals. They are widely required by low-cost on-chip applications, such as biometric sensors and SoCs. As part of a sensor, a relaxation oscillator is implemented to provide a clock reference. Limited by the sensor application, a clock reference outside the sensor is not desired. An RC implementation of the oscillator has a balanced accuracy performance with low-cost advantage. Hence an RC relaxation oscillator is chosen to provide the clock inside the sensor. This thesis proposes a current mode relaxation oscillator to achieve low frequency standard deviation across different supplies, temperatures and process corners. A comparison between a given relaxation oscillator and the proposed design is made as well. All oscillators in this thesis use 0.18 μm technology and 1.8 V nominal supply. The proposed oscillator manages to achieve a frequency standard deviation across all PVT variations less than ±6.5% at 78.4 MHz output frequency with a power dissipation of 461.2 μW. The layout of the oscillator's core area takes up 0.003 mm2.

Théorie quantique des singularités, symétrie miroir et hiérarchies intégrables / Quantum singularity theory, mirror symmetry and integrable hierarchies

Guéré, Jérémy 18 June 2015 (has links)
In this thesis, we provide a mirror symmetry theorem in a range of cases where the state-of-the-art techniques relying on concavity or convexity do not apply. More specifically, we work on a family of FJRW potentials named after Fan, Jarvis, Ruan, and Witten's quantum singularity theory and viewed as the counterpart of a non-convex Gromov--Witten potential via the physical LG/CY correspondence. The main result provides an explicit formula for Polishchuk and Vaintrob's virtual cycle in genus zero. In the non-concave case of the so-called chain invertible polynomials, it yields a compatibility theorem with the FJRW virtual cycle and a proof of mirror symmetry for FJRW theory. At last, we generalize our main theorem to the computation of intersection numbers between the top Chern class of the Hodge bundle and the virtual cycle in arbitrary genus. In the case of $3$-spin theory, it leads to a proof of Buryak's conjecture on the equivalence between double ramification hierarchy and $3$-KdV hierarchy.

Implementation of a Fashion Virtual Assistant with the Use of a Kinect v2 Camera and Image Processing

Vizcarra, Christopher, Medina, Gabriel, Barrientos, Alfredo 01 January 2021 (has links)
This article is about the problem and development of a fashion virtual assistant proposed by using a Kinect v2 camera and image processing, for fashion retail stores. It comes up mainly as a response to the inability of providing unique experiences during the shopping process through the use of diverse devices. Because of this, similar virtual assistant solutions, oriented to provide clothing recommendations, were analyzed to be able to provide software that could give a more personalized suggestion for the users based on their physical characteristics. / Revisión por pares
