Využití optických zesilovačů v sítích NG-PON2 / Using Optical Amplifiers in NG-PON2 Networks

The aim of the thesis was to introduce the standard ITU-T G.989. Introduction deals with passive network architecture, which clarifies the basic functional elements that occur in optical networks. Been described active components and the very principle of data transfer in the distribution network. Next section is devoted to new technologies that are defined for the latest generation of passive networks NG-PON2. There have been a principle of data transmission in such networks and their advantages and disadvantages. I described the principle of data transmission in such networks and their advantages and disadvantages. The practical part deals with creating a functional network of NG-PON2 also using optical amplifiers. Another suggestion was using a digital CATV transmission of QAM modulation under optical networks on a dedicated wavelength of 1550 nm. Also simulate the coexistence of this new standard with previous PON technologies. Finally, the work consisted in implementing the Miller’s code into OptSim v5.2 environment, which compared the transmission characteristics of each line of codes with this Miller’s code. All practical simulations were designed and simulated in program OptSim v5.2.

Open Access Fiber to the Home Networking

The concept of open-access networks appeals to communities that want to invest in and improve their access to modern telecommunications services. By investing in, or building their own open-access telecommunications networks, communities can create an environment where several telecommunications service providers can co-exist on a common open-access infrastructure. This model promotes innovation and competition among several smaller service providers rather than having a monopoly or oligopoly from those companies that can afford the investment of infrastructure in the community. This research provides an analysis of two large open-access fiber-to-the-home networks in Utah to determine a set of recommendations and best-practices for other communities that are considering building their own community networks. The networks analyzed in this research are the Utah Telecommunications Open Infrastructure Agency (UTOPIA) and the Provo City network (iProvo).

Digital industry has the unique feature of 「Once producing、MultiProcessing、Multichannel Transmission、Multiworkers service」, and other characteristics such as internet interaction and Hypertext、Virtual will become the M.O.D.el for broadband entertainment. But, here raises one simple question:“Can WebsTV being duplicated onto the Digital TV”? This thesis will discuss into depth the two major topics of “Convergence”and “Key Successful Factors”using literature review and interviews with 9 experts from: M.O.D of ChungHwa Telecom, Seednet D.F.C., ETTV S.T.B., and Multiple System Operators of Cable TV etc. Empirical experiences gained from working in relevant industry will also be used to discuss the success factors in converging broadband website and digital television. 下一代網路資訊服務與系統供應商之成功經營模式研究

下一代網路(Next Generation Network,NGN)是因應未來語音、數據、影像等Triple Play之資訊服務對頻寬與網路能力要求日益增加下所提出的一種新網路形態概念。同時,NGN以IP 多媒體子系統(IP Multimedia Subsystem,IMS)為其核心可以降低系統供應商的營運佈建成本。NGN強調的固網行動融合(Fixed Mobile Convergence,FMC)與全IP網路(All IP Network)化以及強化服務品質(Quality of Service,QoS)精神,都使資訊服務與系統供應業者需要思考出一套新的經營模式(Business Model),使其能在NGN上獲利。本研究之主要目的為以NGN的架構與特性為出發,剖析此一網路的數位匯流趨勢與其成功經營模式研究。 本研究採個案研究法(Case Study Method),透過次級資料的蒐集以及與本研究有關之文獻探討的方式,找出未來NGN的經營模式形貌,並透過訪談相關業者來佐證本研究所提出經營模式之合理性。 由於資訊服務產業範圍廣泛,故本研究選定VoIP及IPTV為主要研究對象,期盼能找出一套適合在NGN上獲利的模式。另外針對企業用戶,NGN也能協助企業增加競爭力,在商業情報的取得、溝通成本的降低、資訊管理系統等都能有所貢獻。 / Next Generation Network,NGN, is a new form of internet concept of Triple play informational service integrated voice mail, data and video as the requirements of more wider bandwidth and high internet power increase. This diploma thesis deals with optic fiber connectors and their influence on transmissions realized via fiber optics. Optical fibers and lightguides play the key role in telecommunications because of constant demands of higher bandwidth and data rates. Original metalic wires do not meet market requirements and so the fiber optics are more and more being used. There are various types of fibers and there are also many ways of connections. This work deals with demountable way of connection – optical connectors, which have the biggest influence on a total attenuation and route length. Connector has to meet various requirements such as cleannes, quality, mechanical construction and ferrule polishing.

Nasazení FTTH v lokálních sítích / FTTH deployment in local networks

The master’s thesis is focused on the theoretical and practical issues of optical access networks. The first chapter of the thesis deals with the concept of the access networks known as FTTx. The second and third chapters focus on the principles and standardization of the active optical network AON P2P and the passive optical network TDM PON. The fourth chapter of the thesis focuses on the network WDM PON, wavelength multiplexes, solution concept and the LG-Ericsson EA 1100 platform. The fifth chapter of the thesis deals with the infrastructure of the optical paths for optical access networks. The sixth chapter of the thesis presents custom design of the headend for reception, processing and distribution of television broadcasting. Two custom access network solutions (AON P2P and WDM PON) for the town Bystřice nad Pernštejnem are presented in the seventh chapter. Case studies include the design of the optical paths infrastructure, central office infrastructure, end-user infrastructure, CAPEX/OPEX economic analysis and basic simulation in OptSim.

Final consumers will demand personalized services using multiple devices including TV channels, video-on-demand, interative TV, video and voice communications, music, photo and file sharing and online games. All these services require novelties and changes at the telecoms field embracing new network architecture using P2P service quality, reliability, customer management and security. The contribution of this work concerns a detailed description of how to design the solution for these challenges, how to implement a new IPTV system describing all the components and services that have to be provided. The natural evolution of this approach is also considered. Additionally, this work proposes new solutions to reduce the channel zapping time and to insert commercials and subtitles. Ověřování stabilního provozu sítě nové generace měřením přenosových parametrů / Verification of stable next generation networks via transmission parameters measurement

This thesis deals with the measurement of transmission parameters in the new generation access networks NGA. The aim of the thesis is to build and configure a test network and scenarios for the measurement of service quality parameters and then verify the transmission stability. The theoretical part describes general functioning of NGN networks, the requirements of different telecommunications services on quality parameters, methodology and recommendations for measuring transmission parameters in packet networks. The practical part deals with the configuration of scenarios using mainly MPLS technology and methodology of their testing. Measurements were performed according to recommendations IETF RFC 2544, IETF RFC 6349 with the ExacTCP test and ITU-T Y.1564 with the EtherSAM test. For measurements were used measuring instruments of EXFO brand. In conclusion, the measurement results according to the mentioned standards were evaluated and also the advantages of using the measurement according to the given standard in NGA access networks were discussed.

The work deals with optical access networks, passive optical networks, especially WDM-PON. Features a modern solution to connect users to the optical access network using optical FTTx connections. Describes the different types of FTTx connections, their parameters and construction technology. Practical work is a practical application of theory for the development of various design and simulation of WDM-PON networks. Each proposal includes the construction of technical solutions optical access networks, the technology used and the balance of the reduced pricing WDM-PON network. The penultimate part of the work consists of design models simulated WDM-PON networks by the simulation program OptSim. The conclusion deals with the evaluation of individual design and simulation of WDM-PON networks.
