Ohållbar-Hållbarhet Inom Den Svenska Kommunen : en kvantitativ innehållsanalys av representationen på hållbar utveckling inom Karlskrona kommuns översiktsplan. / Unsustainable-Sustainability Within The Swedish Municipality : a quantitative content analysis of the representation of sustainable development within Karlskrona municipality's general plan.

Månsson, Jonatan January 2023 (has links)
This study aims to research the Swedish municipality's political implementation of sustainable development and if the implementation can be considered weakly or strongly sustainable. The study also researches what effects resilience has on that outcome. To achieve this aim, the study has chosen to use a quantitative case study together with a content analysis method applied on Karlskrona's overview plan for 2050. The study has chosen to use international and national authorities' definitions of sustainability and resilience for its theory. Theories about strong and weak sustainable development defined by Stig Montin and Mikael Granberg were also used to form the studies theory. The case study was made by analyzing frequencies of paragraphs containing aspects of resilience or of sustainability. Both groups were divided into subgroups defined as economic, ecological and social dimensions respectively. The result of this case study was that aspects of resilience appear a lot less than aspects of sustainability but that an inclusion of resilience is paramount for the overview plan to be considered strongly sustainable. This appeared as a result when aspects of resilience were removed it created an imbalance between the dimensions of  sustainability which caused the plan to be considered weakly sustainable.

Measuring the Effects of Supranational Governing Structures on Corruption through an Economic Experiment

Wang, Wenshuang 08 August 2009 (has links)
Corruption has been attracting a great deal of attention recently and various organizations together with free and active media have made great efforts to bring this issue to the forefront of the governance debate. This research uses experimental methods to investigate the effect of supranational governing structures on corruption. A second objective of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of the model for the United Nations missions given that transparency and accountability in the presence of these kinds of supranational governing structures are generally weak. Results of this research show that the presence of supranational governing structures leads to an increased level of corruption. These findings can be generalized for other situations in the public sector or private sector that involve a type of supranational governing structure. For the case of the UN missions, increased transparency and accountability can help reduce the level of corruption under these governing structures.

Influencing subjective well-being for business and sustainable development using big data and predictive regression analysis

Weerakkody, Vishanth J.P., Sivarajah, Uthayasankar, Mahroof, Kamran, Maruyama, Takao, Lu, Shan 21 August 2020 (has links)
Yes / Business leaders and policymakers within service economies are placing greater emphasis on well-being, given the role of workers in such settings. Whilst people’s well-being can lead to economic growth, it can also have the opposite effect if overlooked. Therefore, enhancing subjective well-being (SWB) is pertinent for all organisations for the sustainable development of an economy. While health conditions were previously deemed the most reliable predictors, the availability of data on people’s personal lifestyles now offers a new dimension into well-being for organisations. Using open data available from the national Annual Population Survey in the UK, which measures SWB, this research uncovered that among several independent variables to predict varying levels of people's perceived well-being, long-term health conditions, one's marital status, and age played a key role in SWB. The proposed model provides the key indicators of measuring SWB for organisations using big data.

Efecto de la recirculación del gas de escape en el proceso de la renovación de la carga en motores turbo-sobrealimentados

Vera García, Francisco 15 March 2004 (has links)

January 2011 (has links)
The Forschungskreis Vereinte Nationen (Research Group on the United Nations) was founded in 1999 with the aim of promoting the exchange of information among scientists of different disciplines and the dialogue between the UN researchers and the practitioners. The Potsdam Conferences of the Forschungskreis convened at regular intervals address the critical analysis of UN research. Moreover the conferences provide a forum for the discussion with politicians, UN officials, diplomats and journalists about the tasks of the UN and its structures as well as about concepts for its reform. The present book publishes important lectures of the Potsdam Conferences 2000 – 2008, dealing among other things with peacekeeping, human rights protection and environmental protection of the United Nations, the reform of its principal organs as well as with the German UN policy and the UN policy of the European Union. The lectures are supplemented by contributions of the two editors on the problems and perspectives of UN research in Germany.

Zhodnocení bezpečnosti přepravy nebezpečných věcí po silnici / Evaluation of the safety of the transport of dangerous goods by road

NĚMEC, Tomáš January 2016 (has links)
The theoretical part approaches the topics connected with the transport of dangerous goods and associated topics, for example, from the development of legislation relating to the transport of dangerous goods from the time of the Austrian empire and the First Czechoslovak Republic through the current legislation, e. g. domestic and international validity, and also an important document - the agreement of the ADR, on which the legal rules are based. The next part of the thesis is concerns hazardous substances, including the description of their classification and identification. The following section, which deals with the characteristics of the transport of dangerous goods, including training of persons carrying dangerous goods, the obligations of the participants with transportation from the point of view of safety. An important part of the transport of dangerous goods is also documentation. The three basic documents are: transport document, safety data sheet and the written instructions for the driver. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the following: the requirements regarding the properties on gear road vehicles that transport dangerous goods; the activities of the occupants of the vehicle, if an accident occurs or the emergency situation and the related release of hazardous substances; traffic restrictions, such as restrictions on the transit of vehicles carrying dangerous goods in road tunnels. Conclusion of the theoretical part deals with the principles of the behavior of the population in case of accidents with leakage of hazardous substances and related improvised protection of individuals. These principles build on the models of situations with leaks of hazardous substances that are listed as part of the results. The aim of this thesis is to determine compliance with the legislation on the transport of dangerous goods by road. For setting the goals there are two research questions, namely: How much are traffic regulations being broken? Which regulation of the transport of dangerous goods by road is being broken most often? To determine the answers to the research questions we chose a survey using the questionnaire survey focused predominantly on the driver transporting dangerous goods by road. In the thesis, respectively, the research included a total of 100 valid questionnaires. In the questionnaire survey all of the respondents were randomly chosen, however, some of them refused to answer some questions. The survey revealed that infringement in the field of transport occurs in a fairly small range. The selected eighteen provisions in the legislation, which were violated in varying degrees, were most often replied by the drivers that they never met with the violation of the regulation (together marked 825 times, expressed in % 45,83 % of the total), exceptionally (together marked 782 times, expressed in % 43,44 % of the total), regularly (together indicated by 181 times, expressed in % 10,06 % of the total) or always (together identified 12 times, expressed in percent of the 0.67% of the total). The questionnaire survey also revealed that violations of regulation of the smoking ban is most often. Out of 100 respondents, 30 answered that they met with a violation of this regulation regularly (26) or always (4). Among the other most frequently infringed legal regulations in the field of transport include the rules in securing the cargo to the loading area, where 19 respondents out of 100 answered that they met with a violation of this regulation regularly or always. The rules concerning the manipulation with dangerous goods during the course of loading and unloading, it was noted that 19 of the respondents met with a violation of this regulation regularly (17) or always (2). There are also the results of modeling accidents in the program of the Terrorist Expert TerEx.
