Evaluate Techniques For Wireless Communication From a Network Device To a Smartphone

Evaldsson, Florian, Lindström, Martin January 2015 (has links)
This is our thesis for the course Degree Project in Electronics and Computer Engineering (IL122X). Our project was carried out at the company Westermo which is working on making industry network equipment. Westermo wanted a method for sending information from one of their network devices to a mobile device using secure wireless communication. It was first planned to be done using Bluetooth, and exchange keys through NFC. This was later changed to not just evaluate this particular situation, but to evaluate the best solution for their use-case. This report will go through our evaluation process. We will mention different possible techniques and if they can be used, then put the techniques together and form a possible solution. Our discussion will mention what we think is the best solution and why, and the way forward.

USB Attached Network Performance : Uplink Performance

Di, Shuang January 2009 (has links)
More and more people all over the world are using a USB modem to connect to the Internet. This is especially true in Sweden- which has the highest 3G coverage in Europe. Comparable to fixed broadband access, using a 3G USB modem is a wonderful experience for the customer. Increasingly, anywhere we can use our cellular phone is a place that we are able to access the Internet, even if we are traveling in a train, walking in a park, or sitting on the beach. This makes working on the move much easier. However, customers do not know if the network throughput, delay, and the cost of connectivity match their needs. Additionally, there is also the question of the time to connect to the network when there has not been some traffic for a period of time. However, the throughput, delay, and "time to connect" when using such a modem to connect to a wireless network depend on several factors. In this thesis we will examine these factors. More specifically, the thesis will analyze in detail the effects of using a USB attached network interface, in order to gain greater understanding of such an interface’s network performance. We have chosen to focus on the uplink, as it was expected to have a low throughput and it has not had as much attention as the downlink performance.

Válik, Martin January 2016 (has links)
The text is focused on development induction heating coltroller. The motivation to create such a device was to correct deficiencies and add the necessary functionality for a device of this type. This was achieved mainly by adding the graphic display and USB interface. Graphic TFT display with buttons and a rotary encoder creates user interface. Part of the control unit is also circuit evaluateing temperature from three thermocouples. The paper dealt with the optimal solution for power supply, communication between control unit and power part, way of controlling graphical TFT display and selection of other components. The core is of course, suitable microcontroller, which manage all parts of the device.

Implementação Eletrônica de Sistemas Fuzzy. / Electronic Implementation of Fuzzy Systems.

André Luís Jorge Garcia 06 August 2009 (has links)
This work investigates the implementation of fuzzy systems using electronic currents. Such systems have been used before to solve several of problems of engineering applications, mainly involving process control applications. On more complex applications, the approximate reasoning of the fuzzy logic allows a way to understand the system behavior, allowing approximate interpolation among observed sets of input and output points. The implementation of a fuzzy system can be based in hardware, software or both. Typically, the software implementation uses a programming environment integrated with simulation, helping the designing work. The hardware implementations, traditional or evolutionary, can be analog or digital, mainly for high performance systems. This work aims to research an electronic implementation of a fuzzy system, capable to accomplish an adequate input to output mapping. The focus of this work is to design a platform with an analog-digital architecture based in a mapping table stored in a high capacity memory. Memories of the SD (Secure Digital) type were studied and used in the construction of a prototype of the electronic platform. Also studies were developed on the quantization, specifically to allow the reduction of the number of bits. With the accomplished implementation, it is possible to develop a fuzzy system in a simulated environment (Matlab), to configure the platform and to execute the fuzzy system directly in the electronic platform. The tests with the prototype was successful.
