Configuration management for Lyee software

Gruhn, V., Ijioui, R., Peters, D., Schäfer, C. 25 January 2019 (has links)
This article presents a configuration management concept for software projects using Lyee methodology. To illustrate this concept, an introduction in configuration management is given. Then, the structure of Lyee programs is defined by sets and their dependencies. From this structure, the actual configuration management concept is deduced and discussed by rendering the structure for an existing configuration management testbed and describing the involved key players as well as the necessary procedures.

Introduction to supersymmetry

Schreiber, Gunhild Ursula January 1987 (has links)
Includes bibliographical references. / The tendency in theoretical physics, particularly in the past few decades, has been towards unification: over the years it has emerged that increasingly many physical phenomena can be explained by a common underlying theory. Symmetry principles, both global and local, play an important role in this unification programme. Global symmetries often account for approximate regularities we observe in nature - local or gauge symmetries are understood as basic symmetries which lie at the heart of the interactions of the constituents of matter.

Effektivare fordonsdiagnostik över CAN-bussen genom UDS

Abraham, Michael January 2020 (has links)
Cars are getting more technically advanced and more ECUs are being developed that results in increased safety and comfort, and a lower environmental impact. This leads to a complex work to test and verify that all the different ECUs are functioning as intended in various situations. Vehicle diagnostics often requires software from third parties that are often expensive. Syntronic AB are currently using software with a much larger functionality than needed to perform vehicle diagnostics and much of the unneces-sary functionality in the software leads to unnecessarily long runtimes for the program. By studying CAN and UDS and analyzing how they interact, I was able to create a software by systematically developing the software with two interfaces connected to each computer and continuously testing the implementation against the theoretical basis and then finally testing the software in a vehicle. The created software was better suited to the needs of the company and the more functionality-adapted software could perform the same diagnostics faster than the company’s current software. The most used UDS-service by the company could be implemented and the created software enabled more UDS services to be added without modifications of the main program or its features.

User Adoption of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems in the Public Sector

Wright, Lionel O. 01 January 2016 (has links)
The importance of aligning information technology and business strategies to exploit capabilities and change business practices has increased as firms strive for competitive advantage in a diverse and changing marketplace. Nevertheless, over 50% of firms implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems ranked expected process and value enhancements as inadequate, whereas only 13% indicated that implementations met their needs. The unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model formed the conceptual framework of this single case study. The study comprised a purposeful sampling of 8 business managers in Southeast Alabama working in related job roles and based on established eligibility criteria. Data collection involved semistructured interviews, casual observations, and document analysis. Through method triangulation and predetermined themes directly related to the UTAUT conceptual framework, 5 themes emerged: management endorsement, change management, training and education, dedicated resources, and governance. Results of this research may influence the elimination of key barriers central in the deployment and adoption of ERP systems by the public sector. The study's implications for positive social change include the potential to enhance social and intellectual capital formation through recognizing strategies that mitigate employees' gender and age variances during an ERP implementation.

Design and Implementation of Web-based Data and Network Management System for Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks

Yu, Qun 09 March 2011 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / Today, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are forming an exciting new area to have dramatic impacts on science and engineering innovations. New WSN-based technologies, such as body sensor networks in medical and health care and environmental monitoring sensor networks, are emerging. Sensor networks are quickly becoming a flexible, inexpensive, and reliable platform to provide solutions for a wide variety of applications in real-world settings. The increase in the proliferation of sensor networks has paralleled the use of more heterogeneous systems in deployment. In this thesis, our work attempts to develop a new network management and data collection framework for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks called as Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks Management System (H-WSNMS), which enables to manage and operate various sensor network systems with unified control and management services and interface. The H-WSNMS framework aims to provide a scheme to manage, query, and interact with sensor network systems. By introducing the concept of Virtual Command Set (VCS), a series of unified application interfaces and Metadata (XML files) across multiple WSNs are designed and implement the scalability and flexibility of the management functions for heterogeneous wireless sensor networks, which is demonstrated though through a series of web-based WSN management Applications such as Monitoring, Configuration, Reprogram, Data Collection and so on. The tests and application trials confirm the feasibility of our approach but also still reveal a number of challenges to be taken into account when deploying wireless sensor and actuator networks at industrial sites, which will be considered by our future research work.

Luftmakt i multilaterala, fredsframtvingande insatser : En teoriprövande fallstudie av John. A. Wardens ”The Enemy as a System” mot Operation Allied Force & Operation Unified Protector

Tessem, Filip January 2020 (has links)
John A. Warden's airpower theory, The Enemy as a System, has had a major influence on the strategic discourse ever since the foundation of this normative framework was presented in The Air Campaign in 1988. Warden’s theoretical impact was reinforced by the American successes during the Gulf War, but since then, little research has tested the theory outside the context of conventional wars of aggression. This study analyzes The Enemy as System against a peace enforcing context, characterized by multilateral cooperation. It also identifies intermediate variables that help explain why the theory is strengthened or weakened in relation to this particular context. Through qualitative methods, Operation Allied Force and Operation Unified Protector are analyzed against operational indicators within the central concepts of the five-ring model and parallel attacks. The results of the study show that NATO did not use airpower in accordance with Warden's normative theory in either of the examined operations. The absence of operational indicators could hypothetically explain why NATO failed to produce strategic effects within the operational time limits, although this remains a speculative conclusion. The result instead suggests a number of intermediate variables, such as political disagreement and strategic dissonance, which combined reduced the possibility of using airpower in accordance with Warden's theory. In addition, the fear of civilian casualties and the risk of exacerbating the post-war humanitarian situation, further reduced the possibility of attacking targets within certain subsystems of the five-ring model. The conclusion is therefore that Warden’s theoretical applicability, and thus universal validity, is weakened within the examined context.

Miniature

Rehn, Amanda January 2018 (has links)
This thesis investigates a typology of interiors that evoke the sensation of containing the whole world in miniature. It explores the reverie of something being able to expand as you go deeper; that is, something which seems like it is a complete world, or appears larger than it is. It is about making a space for the mind to rest in, and as it rests, go deeper and thus reach outside of the walls of the space. In a way, it might be about achieving complexity and great depth through small means. The questions that this thesis poses are the following: What kind of spatial reality is being miniaturized? How can something small be large, something flat be deep, somethings imple be complex? How can a whole be greater than its parts? What are the appropriate means of representation for these types of interiors? As a side effect, I think this investigation is ultimately also about the pure joy of creating, and about genuine warmth, empathy, atmosphere, and an inclusive sense of humour, which allows for quirks and flights of fancy.
