Employee¡¦s Acceptance of Intranet Implementation ¡ÐA Case Study

Chang, Hong-chang 21 May 2004 (has links)
The development of information technology (IT) has made a very different prospect in business administration. Today, more and more companies introduce intranet system to establish internal network. Since the intranet system is really costly, companies should make assessment prudently before and after the investment, but the approaches are extremely limited. This study is to assess system success through employee¡¦s acceptance by exploring the components influence his attitude and behavior. This study uses ¡¦the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology¡¦ (known as UTAUT) with some measures modified from the viewpoint of large size manufacturing company and concerning models (TAM and TAM2). 436 samples were taken from more than 8600 employees by stratified random sampling. The major findings are (1) there are 5 key components extracted: Usefulness, Ease of Use, Enjoyment, Social Influence, and Facilitating Condition, (2) the Usefulness and Facilitating Condition influence employee¡¦s behavior intention significantly while Ease of Use enhances the Usage directly, (3) Usefulness is the most important factor of all for employee¡¦s acceptance.

Chao, Yu-chen 30 May 2006 (has links)
The technology of Wireless Local Area Network(WLAN) is getting mature.Even the INTEL,Co developed the WLAN chip (Centrino) that can be embedded in laptops or PDAs. So that , the chip could upgrade the device of the efficiency of WLAN and increase the number of the users. Recently, the WLAN has been a very hot issue, but most of the studies that have been done are concerned with the technique perspective¡Bproperty perspective and strategy; very little research has been conducted to investigate the consumer perspective. Therefore, for saving the resources and enhancing the quality of the WLAN¡¦s research, the purpose of this study is to explore the network users¡¦ acceptance after implement the system based on ¡§the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology¡¨(UTAUT). The results of this research indicate that (1) there are 4 key components extracted: ¡uPerformance Expectancy¡v¡B¡uEffort Expectancy¡v¡B¡uSocial Influence¡v and¡uFacilitating Condition¡v;(2) ¡uPerformance Expectancy¡vand¡uEffort Expectancy¡v influence employee¡¦s behavior intention significantly . That is, we can use the model to predict the network users¡¦ behavior onUsing WLAN. On the other hand, this study is also investigate the effect after implement WLAN and made the suggestions to development of Govermant or ISP suppliers in future.

The rapid development of the Internet and Wireless Local Area Network cause VoIP plays an important role among the emerging communication products. The purpose of this study is to explore the VoIP acceptance of the Internet user from the model of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). This study designed a questionnaire that regarded with the degree of the acceptance of VoIP according to the review of the literatures. After the research, this study indicates that there are three components that influenced the degree of acceptance of VoIP include perceived easy of use, performance expectancy and social influence and different factors under different demography significantly influence the intention of the user. Related to these three components, this study first indicates that sex has a significant influence in the expectation of the achievement and the result shows that male is more significant than female. Second, age has no significant influence. Third, different education level has significant influence in the component of perceived easy of use, especially the user who has Master and PHD degree is more significant than the user only has graduated degree. Forth, different using experience and Voluntariness of Use have different significant influence among these three components.

The Study of Technology Acceptance of employees to enterprise e-Learning Systems.

TSENG, YI-YUAN 01 June 2005 (has links)
Information science and technology fast development not only impact industry external competition environment, but also has the significant influence to the enterprise interior management. Along with network technology maturity, more and more enterprises Internet technical application in enterprise, thus constructs the construction enterprise exclusively intranet system, to unimpeded internal information, and provides each kind of convenient service and the function, then reduces the cost, to strengthened enterprise physique, to ensure the competitive advantage. On this occasion of the information explodes, no matter the society or individual, the lifelong study is the inevitable tendency, but constructs the construction using the enterprise interior network e-Learning to provide the multiplex study pipeline, may cause the knowledge management and study obtains more convenient and effectiveness. Steps while the whole world to the information, the science and technology and the government advocated the lifelong study, the enterprise promote the industry to encourage education, personally to take advanced courses become common practice, it reveal e-Learning potential to become the epoch-making education learning. However, from the view point of business management, lead-in e-Learning system incurs great expense. This research use the¡uUnified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology / UTAUT¡vas a foundation, from the large-scale traditional industry as a viewpoint, revises its scales, and use the way of lamination random sampling to carry on the questionnaire survey to the case study company, and obtains 180 effectively questionnaires. The main conclusion includes: To the case study company's staffs [1] Influence e-Learning system to accept a factor to be allowed to induce is "Performance Expectancy ", ¡§Effort Expectancy ", " Social Influence ¡§and " Facilitating Conditions " four items, different staff have different factor value degree. [2] The influence system use wish factor only has ¡§Performance Expectancy ", and " Facilitating Conditions " and so on two items; At the same time directly the behavior has the influence " Performance Expectancy " to "Actual use": The other two factors influence (Effort Expectancy and Social Influence) certainly does not reveal. [3] " Performance Influence" for the wish of uses and the actual behavior influence far surpass other factors.

The Narrative Analysis of User Behavior on CRM System¡XA Case Study of an International Company

Lai, Hua-lin 04 August 2009 (has links)
Customers are very important to all companies. The study shows that organizations spent 6 to 9 times more obtaining new customers than keeping old customers. All companies try to figure out the customers who can bring them high profit and improve customer satisfaction through good customer management. Therefore many companies implement Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to reach the goals. However, Gartner Group presents that 32% companies abandon CRM system after completing implementation. It does not mean finish when CRM system rolls out. The company has to know it is a long journey when it decides to implement CRM system. The company A in this study implemented CRM system, Siebel, in 2003. The first phase focused on Sales Force Automation module. CRM team is responsible for adoption mission. In the beginning, the usage rate was very low and it took long time to get users adopt the system. A company did not give up. It tamed the users through many ways. This study displays the war between CRM team, IT people, and sales representatives who are the most important users to this system. CRM team and IT people play important roles during the process of CRM implementation. For that reason, their feelings and thoughts cannot be ignored. To explain the user behavior, the study introduces Unified theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), which was formulated with four core determinants of intention and usage. Although some phenomenon can be elaborated by this theory, the study discovers some points beyond it: the meaning of system to the users is more important than performance expectation and effort expectation in the theory, and adjusting the cooperation of all departments related to system is more effective than improving the system only .

Social Media Use and Acceptance Among Health Educators in Saudi Arabia

Alhashem, Anwar M. 01 May 2015 (has links)
More than half the population of Saudi Arabia has access to the Internet and social media, which are considered to be the fastest growing methods of communication in the region. The Saudi Ministry of Health encourages health-care providers, health professionals, and health organizations to accept and actively engage in using technology for improving health practices. Despite their increasing importance, there is little published literature on social media use and acceptance among health educators in Saudi Arabia. The purpose of the present study was to better understand the factors that determine the use and acceptance of social media. The theoretical framework consisted of the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) as well as an extension to that theory. Through this lens, the study investigated how personal innovativeness in information technology and level of education may influence behavioral intention or use of social media among health educators in Saudi Arabia. A cross-sectional design was employed to determine the relationships among the specified factors. The participants included 320 health educators who filled out an online survey that had been constructed and validated in the literature. Findings indicated that performance expectancy, social influence, and personal innovativeness have a significant positive influence on behavioral intention. Facilitating conditions were negatively significant to user behavior. As anticipated, age and level of education were successfully shown to be a moderator. The study also discussed social media usage patterns among health educators in Saudi Arabia for personal and health-education purposes.

No. of bitstreams: 1 BrunaMKO_DISSERT.pdf: 2797307 bytes, checksum: cd2f787b66e9e905406dc12ece6bc283 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2011-07-21 / This study aimed to examine how students perceives the factors that may influence them to attend a training course offered in the distance virtual learning environment (VLE) of the National School of Public Administration (ENAP). Thus, as theoretical basis it was used the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), the result of an integration of eight previous models which aimed to explain the same phenomenon (acceptance/use of information technology). The research approach was a quantitative and qualitative. To achieve the study objectives were made five semi-structured interviews and an online questionnaire (websurvey) in a valid sample of 101 public employees scattered throughout the country. The technique used to the analysis of quantitative data was the structural equation modeling (SEM), by the method of Partial Least Square Path Modeling (PLS-PM). To qualitative data was the thematic content analysis. Among the results, it was found that, in the context of public service, the degree whose the individual believes that the use of an AVA will help its performance at work (performance expectancy) is a factor to its intended use and also influence its use. Among the results, it was found that the belief which the public employee has in the use of a VLE as a way to improve the performance of his work (performance expectation) was determinant for its intended use that, in turn, influenced their use. It was confirmed that, under the voluntary use of technology, the general opinion of the student s social circle (social influence) has no effect on their intention to use the VLE. The effort expectancy and facilitating conditions were not directly related to the intended use and use, respectively. However, emerged from the students speeches that the opinions of their coworkers, the ease of manipulate the VLE, the flexibility of time and place of the distance learning program and the presence of a tutor are important to their intentions to do a distance learning program. With the results, it is expected that the managers of the distance learning program of ENAP turn their efforts to reduce the impact of the causes of non-use by those unwilling to adopt voluntarily the e-learning, and enhance the potentialities of distance learning for those who are already users / Este estudo teve como objetivo verificar como os alunos percebem os fatores que podem influenci?-los a cursar uma capacita??o a dist?ncia oferecida no ambiente virtual de aprendizagem (AVA) da Escola Nacional de Administra??o P?blica (ENAP).

lndividual and organizational factors affecting e-learning acceptance : an empirai study in a banking business

Abdou, David 11 December 2015 (has links)
The e-learning carnes in him the potential and especially the hope of a new efficiency which we lend generally to the introduction of ICTS in organizations. However adoption of such technology still facing various challénges. This research aims at identifying the influence of the individual and organizational factors on e-learning technology acceptance in a banking company. Based on the UTAUT model, the revised model includes three particular constructs: executive management influence, immediate une manager influence and involvement. We will also investigate the moderating effects of sociodemographic factors in a banking context. Survey data were collected from a sample of employees (n=512) in s French banking company in order to test their intention to use the e-learning. Results show the performance expectancy and perceived ease of use as key determinants of Intention to use. However, the results also show, the new constructs have a significant and positive direct effect on intention to use the e-Iearning.
