Urbanisme et architecture domestique de l’Entre-deux-guerres à Nancy et dans son agglomération / Urbanism and domestic architecture in Nancy and its suburbs during the inter-wars period

Marseille, Gilles 17 October 2013 (has links)
This study concerns the domestic architecture in Nancy and the 19 towns of its suburbs from 1919 to 1939. The important size of the corpus (6600 buildings) and of the area studied highlights the urban and architectural processes that contribute to the creation of the city. The relationships between the city council, developers, social housing organizations and intellectual societies are analyzed to trace the path that leads from the plan to the urban reality. The post-war reconstruction project, the law controlling urbanism or social housing (Loucheur Act) and the effects of the 1930’s crisis on the land and housing development are looked back on using modern technical (GIS) and conceptual tools. The comparisons with national (even international) models place the study in a broader perspective where Nancy and its suburbs become a medium for reflection on this moment in the history of French cities. In addition, the exhaustive inventory allows looking at all the building production without hierarchy. This study, combining the mundane and the outstanding, highlights permanencies and hybridisations. The legacy of Eclecticism and Art Nouveau coexists with the diffusion of new trends such as the Modern movement and Art Deco. The examination of Nancy’s case contributes to the new definition of the latter style and of a better understanding of its evolution during the 1930’s. Finally, this study is the opportunity to show that domestic architecture is a physical transcription of a social order, which is reflected in the quality of interior design and building facades as medium of representation

Res Publica: ANNEXION / Brno – Římské náměstí / Res Publica: ANNEXION / Brno – Římské náměstí (Roman´s Square)

Pavlovská, Ema January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis follows the pre-diploma project "Roman Square" from winter semester 2017/2018. The content of the thesis was the analysis of the current state of the square and the determination of conditions for further use of the area. The thesis was not only limited to an analytical statement about the current form of the territory, but it presents a critical view on the legislative and methodological framework of the planning documentation. As a result, the regulatory plan was replaced by the current plan, which became the city plan of the city of Vienna. He works with tools that reflect the paradigms of contemporary urbanism. By using a minimum number of regulations, it sets clear rules for the creation of place and location of objects in relation to the character of the existing building, while maintaining the possibility of individual approach to filling the design areas within the defined rules. The proposed regulatory plan uses these tools to use concepts as defined by Czech legislation, and the functionality of these tools has been tested in a number of mass models during the preparation of the plan. The new city plan, together with the knowledge gained during the preparation of the pre-diploma project, became the basis for the creation of a proposal for the solution of Roman Square and newly placed buildings.

TRANSFORMACE BÝVALÝCH KASÁREM V HODONÍNĚ / TRANSFORMATION OF THE FORMER BARRACS IN HODONÍN

Hoffová, Monika January 2019 (has links)
The object of this thesis is an urbanistic study called Transformation of former barracks in Hodonin. Urbanistic study involves not only urbanistic solution of the barracks area, but also examines the potencial of the city expansion in this locality. Study is focused on realistic model of finishing the city structure and proposal of public spaces in surroundings of historical barracks buildings. Although the city tried to connect this territory back to the city structure and not to limit it’s natural development - the area turned into chaos by selling out lands around the barracks. Not only urbanism is the problem here. Buildings, that would deserve the attention, suffer. The historic barracks are the next object in this thesis. In detailed architectural study is their transformation, which considers historical, constructial, economical and social potencial of these buildings. Reconstruction respects mass and historical value of buildings.

Vysokoškolská kolej Hradec Králové, nábřeží Orlice / University residence hall Hradec Králové, Orlice riverbank

Vlček, Marek January 2019 (has links)
The diploma project is resolving the possibilities of designing contemporary buildings into the historical context of city centre. The emphasis is aimed on urban integration of new volumes into the present city structure and its genius loci. The result of the design should be buildings with specific character and clear dispositions using quality materials. The area is located near the city centre of Hradec Králové and is defined by the streets Comenius, I.Herrmann and Hradecká. It is directly adjacent to the historic city center. In the middle of the area is flowing The Orlice River, which divides area into two separately designed zones, communicates with each other. The presence of the river is considered to be a distinctive urban-forming element that needs to be used and promoted in the city. One of the characteristics of the site is the poor state of public spaces, several significant barriers, whether moving, operational or visible and urban unconnected areas or unreasonable used areas and buildings. The surrounding of The Orlice River, flowing through the center of Hradec Králové, is from near future very important, but at the same time hard to handle. All three facts - the city center plot, the presence of the river, but also the neglected public spaces - leading this area rehabilitated, revitalized and made accessible to people.
