Dérivation et valence en sereer variété de Mar Lodj (Sénégal) / Valency changing derivations in Sereer Dialect of Mar Lodj (Senegal)

Renaudier, Marie 26 September 2012 (has links)
This dissertation deals with the phenomenon of verbal derivation and valency changing in Sereer, an Atlantic language of Senegal. Analyses are based on spontaneous data and elicitations collected during fieldwork. The study is organized in three parts. The first part focuses on some points of Sereer grammar, like the complex verbal flexional morphology including aspect, person or focalization, which is strongly grammaticalized in this language. The second part provides the background required by the study of valency changing operations. Thus, it deals with the many derivational verbal suffixes of Sereer and distinguishes those which affect valency from those which do not affect valency. Moreover, this second part focuses on theoretical issues and provides definitions for the notions of grammatical relations, valency or voice. In Sereer, half of the 30 derivational suffixes imply a valency changing operation on the verb. These 15 morphemes encode 7 operations (causative, applicative, possession, passive, middle, reciprocal and antipassive) described in specific chapters beginning with a theoretical and typological frame. Syntactic and semantic consequences of verbal derivation but also functional motivations and non canonical structures constitute essential points of my description. In some cases, analysis of valency changing operations in Sereer confirms typological literature. This is the case of the causative for example. But some chapters focus on rare phenomena such as the external possession morpheme or the antipassive morpheme particularly specialized.

Approche épistémologique et conceptuelle du rôle des émotions au sein de la rationalité / Epistemological and conceptual study of the role of emotions within rationality

Rivory, Laure 05 April 2011 (has links)
In philosophy, emotions have been studied throughout the centuries sometimes as helping to make good decisions, sometimes as hindering rationality. Thus, linking emotions and rationality is not something never tried before, but some recent developments have given a new extension to the question. Hypotheses of non-cognitive elements and non-computational ways of thinking that could guide reasoning and choice are searched for and studied. Emotions could be one of some new elements integrating choice in a constructive and not necessarily misguiding way.Despite the complexity of emotions and the diversity of their studies, a large part of the theoretical account of emotional impacts is structured by the recurrent distinction between positive and negative emotions known as their “valence.” Negative and positive emotions are thought to have distinct consequences on actions and choices which are studied and classified through this distinction. Valence seems to be a clear and practical distinction, but its shows several difficulties. Its meaning can be very different from one theory to the other, this notion being imprecise and ambiguous. We also found problems concerning the way this general and simple distinction applies to many emotions that seem to mix many valences. As we will show these problems do not constitute a reason to abandon this notion. We’ll see if it is possible to reform it and make it more realistic to take into account concrete emotions. We intend to make some clarifications on this central notion, and to underline the importance of a more comprehensive and specific study of valence to understand emotional impact at a finer and sharper level of analysis.

Fyzikální jevy ve sloučeninách na bázi Ytterbia a Ceru / Physical phenomena in ytterbium- and cerium-based compounds

Fikáček, Jan January 2014 (has links)
This work contains a study of CeRuSn, which undergoes two structural transitions at 290 K and 256 K both connected with large temperature hysteresis. During the transitions the lattice shrinks along the c axis. At low temperatures the compound orders antiferromagnetically below 2.8(1) K. A strong magnetocrystalline anisotropy is caused by very shortened Ce-Ru separations pointing approximately along the c axis. Due to a strong hybridization, two thirds of Cerium atoms are in a non integer valence state. For the first time synthesized single-crystals of YbPt2Si2 a Yb2Pt3Si5 show no magnetic ordering. A maximum, which is visible in the temperature dependences of magnetic susceptibility originate in thermal population of the magnetic Yb3+ state. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Charron, Catherine 21 December 2019 (has links)
This master thesis proposes an in-depth analysis of the functioning and heritage processes of the Valencia Water Tribunal (Spain), included in the Lift of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2009. In doing so, it provides new empirical evidence of the ways the participation of autonomous communities of irrigators impact its conservation, transmission and enhancement. The study details the actors’ perceptions of the role played by the judges of the Tribunal and the farmers in the huerta in safeguarding traditional irrigation knowhow and into current social functions of the Tribunal. One notable contribution this dissertation defends consists in better understanding the impacts of UNESCO's designation on intangible cultural heritage from the point of view of the actors (e.g. judges, farmers) involved in the Tribunal.

Tuning the magnetic properties of Prussian Blue analogues : size control and the effects of external stimuli

Egan, Lindsay January 2009 (has links)
The hetero-bimetallic mixed valence metal polycyanides (Prussian Blue analogues (PBAs)) with formula AxMII[M’III(CN)6]y (where A= alkali-metal cation and M, M’= transition-metal cations respectively) are archetypal examples of molecule-based magnets, exhibiting a wealth of exotic electronic and magnetic behaviours. Similar intriguing electronic and magnetic properties are anticipated in nanoscale structures employing the PBA molecular building block. Herein investigations of multifunctional molecular magnets based on the PBA building block, with varying dimensionalities, are reported. Synthesis and characterisation of a novel family of mixed ferri-ferromagnets, RbNizMn(1-z)[Fe(CN)6] (0<z<1), illustrates how relatively minor changes in chemical composition can induce significant changes in the magnetic properties. Selected members of this series show photo-induced electronic transitions and pressureinduced magnetic pole inversions. The rare phenomenon of a double magnetic pole inversion is observed when FeII is introduced as a third MII ion. PBAs incorporating the Cu2+ ion are studied with the aim of establishing the influence of Jahn-Teller distortions on the photo-induced electron transfer which has been observed in a number of PBAs. X-ray powder diffraction and absorption measurements of CsCu[Fe(CN)6] under laser illumination reveal an unusual and unexpected behaviour, with photo-irradiation initiating a simultaneous reduction of both transition metal centres, which is proposed to occur via a chemical reaction. Superparamagnetic nanoparticles based on the CuII-NC-CrIII and Mn-NC-CrIII moieties are prepared by polymer protected synthesis, a method based upon spatial confinement. Control over the particle size, and consequently magnetic properties, of the isolated polymer-capped nanoparticles is achieved by altering the polymer concentration. The relaxation dynamics of the polymer-capped nanoparticles are studied using AC susceptibility.

Valence francouzských adverbií / Valency of French adverbs

Holubová, Barbora January 2015 (has links)
(in English): French grammars define the word class adverbs as a very heterogeneous set distinguished particularly by its invariability and intransitivity. The aim of this thesis is to study the valency structure of certain French adverbs forming such a subset which to certain extent denies aforesaid definition. Therefore, the definition of adverbial valency and the characteristic of "inheritance" and "fading" of adverbial valency potential after a transformation from verbs and adjectives will be given. The outcomes of the theoretical part will then be verified by analysing the data presented in the electronic dictionary le Petit Robert completed by qualitative and quantitative analyses based on two written French corpuses: Frantext and L'Est Républicain. To describe the "inheritance" and "fading" of valency potential, the same method will be used to depict the set of the adverbs derived from the adjectives, which take prepositional phrases headed by the preposition de as their complement. This work will be based not only on the theory of general linguistics and grammar, but also on the knowledge of mathematical and corpus linguistics. Klíčová slova (anglicky): valence, adverbs, French, corpus linguistics.
