青年度假打工經驗對其轉銜之影響 / The impact of working holiday experience on youth transition

吳韋箴 Unknown Date (has links)
Economic globalization has been changing the labor market enormously in terms of the structure and flexibility. Thus the increase of atypical employment is one of the main causes of deteriorating labor market and low-paid jobs. The youth of today face higher employment risk and they are forced to change their employment behavior and aspirations in response to circumstantial vicissitude. The youth try to find out the road which is suitable to them. In recent years, working holiday has become the new choice among young people in exploring their career pursuit. The influence of working holiday in youth’s career planning cannot be ignored. There are three issues this study focused on. Firstly, why the youth in Taiwan resign their job and go oversea for working holiday? Secondly, will the youth’s career selection change after they come back? Lastly, during the working holiday, will the youth’s personal ability get strengthened as a result of working holiday experience and that capability in turn increases their competitiveness in labor market? By Purposive Sampling and Snowball sampling, the target groups who had come back at least one year are chosen and are conducted in-depth interviews. We found out that their motivation to undertake working holiday includes the following: getting away from deteriorated labor market of Taiwan, job burnout, pessimism for the future career development, and lost purpose in their life. As to the impact of working holiday, the findings show that the experience of working holiday will have long term impact on the youth’s future career development, such as communication skills, stress resistant ability, problem-solving capability, global adaptability, and high willingness to learn.

Minimilöners effekter på ungdomssysselsättning inom EU / The effects of minimum wages on youth employment in the EU

Heidari, Wahid, Nsabimana, Umba January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the effects of minimum wages on youth employment in the European Union (EU). The main study group is youths between 15-24 which is then further divided into teenagers (15–19) and young adults (20-24). We employ panel regression methods with fixed effects for 17 EU countries (including the UK) that have statutory minimum wages during the period 2000 to 2018. We find that minimum wages have significant negative employment effects for youths in the EU and that the effects are stronger for teenagers compared to young adults. We reach a conclusion that minimum wage policies in EU countries should be handled with caution as they can lead to lower youth employment.

Mladí lidé na trhu práce v souvislosti s činností úřadů práce ve Středočeském kraji / Young people on the labour market in relation to job centres activtiy in Central Bohemia

Herinková, Jana January 2014 (has links)
The main aims of the thesis is to explore the situation and awareness of youth on labour market, to evaluate existing political instruments and to suggest a recommendation for the most effective intrument to makte the situation better. I follow these aims by executing a secondary data analysis, an expert interviews with workers of IPS in Central Bohemia, Regional labour office in Příbram and VÚPSV, furthermore I follow these aims by my own survey within 5 chosen high schools in Central Bohemia. The thesis focuses on exploration of the issue from perspective of future graduates on labour market, as well as the perspective of IPS workers (as the main stakeholder), who actively works with unemployed youth or future graduates on daily basis. According to the research I concluded, that the most effective instrument for the chosen group is consultation, which is provided mainly by the IPS workers. There are various types of consultation in the region and therefore various levels of future graduates awareness. The consultation should by unified in every Central Bohemia region. To make this possible, it is needed to create good working conditions to the IPS workers. After the reform of labour offices the conditions are not very satisfiing due to personal changes, resposibility changes and technological...

Performance of the expanded public works programme in a selected department of the Western Cape Provincial Government, South Africa

Sindelo, Lindi Ebegail Vivien January 2019 (has links)
Thesis (MTech (Public Management))--Cape Peninsula University of Technology, 2019. / A socio-economic problem presently facing South Africa is the rate of youth unemployment, which is among the highest in the world. The South African Government has been involved in a number of initiatives, together with the advancement of a labour-intensive Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) in order to reduce unemployment and poverty. The EPWP was initiated in 2004 with the aim to place the jobless into productive work in the public sector social services where these EPWP beneficiaries are provided with relevant training and transfer of appropriate skills. However, the EPWP only creates temporary work opportunities that have limited influence on the lives of the beneficiaries. The main objective of the study was to examine the performance of the Youth Work Project (YWP) as an EPWP in a selected department of the Western Cape Provincial Government in order to determine its sustainability of job creation. The secondary aims of the study were to explain the process of the YWP as implemented through the EPWP by a selected department of the Western Cape Provincial Government. A third objective was to examine whether the Public Works employment opportunities enhance subsequent employability of participants once they exit this programme. Fourthly, recommendations was forwarded as to how best the EPWP can be used as a tool for helping unemployed youth with a permanent work opportunity. The sample frame computed of thirteen (13) individuals, therefore purposive sampling was considered the most suitable technique to use in this study. The semistructured interviews were conducted with five (5) management officials responsible for the EPWP and unstructured questionnaires were administered to eight (8) available EPWP beneficiaries placed at a selected department of the Western Cape Provincial Government.
