Analýza faktorů ovlivňujících přímý odtok z povodí / Analysis of factors affecting a direct runoff from the catchment area

NEUBAUEROVÁ, Andrea January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis follows my bachelor thesis. The main purpose of the bachelor thesis was to clarify fundamental terms and to explain the sorting of particular parts of a direct flow that involves both the surface saturated flow and the hypodermic flow. This diploma thesis is focusing on the origin of direct flow in a river basin. Specifically, it deals with river sub-basin P6, P52, and P53, which are located in Kopaninský potok river basin. Furthermore, it deals with Jenín I. and II. river basins and the last analysed is Ostřice river basin (SO2). Factors influencing direct flow are researched on all river basins. It is impossible to say that the origin of direct flow is caused solely by a single factor; it is always the result of multiple factors. Among these factors belongs the atmospheric precipitation, type of soil, vegetation, climatic and anthrophogenic conditions, land use, and inclination of the area. The bachelor thesis explains the issues of multiple methods of flow separation, but this diploma thesis is primarily focused on two methods for calculation of ratio between the direct and the total flow. 1) Empirical method GROUND, which is used to separate hydrographs of medium daily river basin flow. 2) Method of digital filter by Lyne Hollick separate fast and slowcomponents from the overall concentrated flow and are based on the theory od signal analysis. Afterwards, the results of flow separation were compared to the factors influencing the origin of the direct flow. The daily total flow rates for every analysed river basin were used as the input data for calculating the flow separation.

Čtení s porozuměním jako předpoklad úspěšné strategie řešení slovních úloh v matematice / Reading comprehension as a prerequisite for successful strategy of word problems solving in mathematics

Sigmundová, Alena January 2019 (has links)
Reading comprehension as a prerequisite for successful strategy of word problems solving in mathematics DISSERTATION Mgr. Alena Sigmundová ABSTRACT The dissertation describes the results of an interdisciplinary research study examining the linguistic aspects of word problems in mathematics and the connection between comprehension of the text of word problems and the success of their solution. In the introduction the research is set into the framework of theoretical bases: the term word problem in mathematics and the concept of reading comprehension, including factors influencing the understanding of the text are characterized and the results of previous research studies are described. Subsequently the work presents a methodology, course and results of testing of pupils in three pilot studies and in the main survey and the conclusions from the semi-structured interviews. The research is based on the linguistic analysis of 18 word problems with low solution success, taken from international research surveys PISA 2012 and TIMSS 2007, as well as on the level of comprehension of the text of these tasks in the 8th and 9th grade primary schools, modifying selected language phenomena and detecting the effect of these reformulations. 773 pupils from 13 elementary schools participated in the research. Developing policy guidelines to promote quality of life of young adults with perinatally acquired HIV in Botswana

Karugaba, Grace 03 1900 (has links)
Due to the successful rollout of the Antiretroviral Therapy Program, an increasing number of perinatally HIV infected adolescents are emerging into young adulthood throughout Botswana. Young adulthood is a critical period of human development, with long-lasting implications for a person’s economic security, health and well-being. During this time, young women and men normally complete school, find employment and start working, develop relationships, form families, bear children and pursue those things that help set them on the path to healthy and productive adult life. However, the presence of a chronic illness such as HIV can interfere with the achievement of the developmental milestones of young adulthood and affect their Health Related Quality of Life (HRQOL). The purpose of this study was to identify the factors that affected the HRQOL of young adults living with perinatally acquired HIV (YALPH) and to propose policy guidelines to promote their HRQOL. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory research design was used. HRQOL assessments were made using the WHOQOL-HIV BREF instrument. Data about the clinical characteristics of the respondents was obtained from medical records. In-depth interviews were conducted with a purposefully selected subsample of respondents who completed the WHOQOL-HIV BREF instrument. All the respondents were recruited from Botswana-Baylor Children’s Clinical Centre of Excellence, in Gaborone, Botswana. Data were analyzed using SPSS Inc. software version 16.0 (statistical package for social science, SPSS Inc, Chicago, IL, USA). The study population consisted of 509 YALPH including 255 (50.1%) females and 254 (49.9%) males. The mean age of the population was 21.7 (± 2.6) years (range 18-29.8 years). The majority of the respondents were single (98.1%), living in their parental homes (90.8%), neither in school nor working (47.35%) and 14% were parents (range 1-3 children). The mean duration on ART was 12.4 years (± 4.0). Based on the BMI classifications by WHO, 38.5% of respondents were underweight (BMI < 18.5 kg/m2) and 7.3% were overweight (BMI ≥ 25.0 kg/m2). Unsuppressed viral load (>400 cell/mL) occurred in 13.4% of the sample. Most respondents had good HROQL (78.4%). The highest mean HRQOL score was recorded in the Physical domain (15.4 (± 2.9) and the lowest in the Environment domain 13.8 (± 2.7). The results fitted using the multivariable logistic regression suggest the odds for good general QOL were increased amongst individuals with a higher level of education and 6 those who were employed. The odds for good general QOL were reduced for individuals with unsuppressed viral load (> 400 cells/mm2) and those who had illnesses (self-reported). The odds for good general QOL increased by almost two folds (OR = 1.97, 95% CI = (1.11 – 3.48)) when comparing respondents with higher level of education against those with lower education. The odds for good general QOL were increased for employed respondents OR = 1.73 (95% CI = (0.92 – 3.23) when compared to the unemployed group. Whereas the odds for good general QOL declined by almost two folds (OR = 0.60, 95% CI = (0.33 – 1.08)) amongst patients with VL > 400 cell/mm2 compared to those with VL < 400 cells/mm2. Also, respondents who were ill had lower odds ratios for good general QOL compared to those who were not ill (OR = 0.42, 95% CI = (0.25 – 0.70)). The results of in-depth interviews with 45 respondents showed that the majority of YALPH were in good physical health and they had positive perspectives about the future including health, completing school, finding employment, marriage and childbearing. The main sources of social support for YALPH were close family members and health care workers (HCWs). However, worries and concerns about disclosure, fear of stigma, lack of financial independence, and limited social relationships and networks were the most identified stressors that put the YALPH at risk of compromised HRQOL. Some sub-groups of YALPH were at higher risk for poor HRQOL including: young mothers, YALPH who were aging out of institutional care, YALPH with disabilities and impairments, YALPH who were neither in school nor working and YALPH with maladaptive coping strategies. Therefore, the promotion of the HRQOL of YALPH will require policies and interventions to increase educational attainment, provide employment and livelihood opportunities, promote good ART adherence and VL suppression, and effectively prevent and manage illnesses. Special attention should be paid to sub-groups of YALPH who are at increased risk of compromised HRQOL. / Health Studies / D. Litt. et Phil. (Health Studies)

Маметбакиева, Н. П., Mametbakieva, N. P. January 2021 (has links)
Illicit drug trafficking, its use and sale entail many illegal actions, the growth of drug use among the younger generation is increasing, drug addiction has become almost a subcultural trend supported by modern music, which significantly influences, shapes and changes the worldview, there is a revolution of values that have been formed over many years and centuries. This development of the situation requires a new approach to solving the problem of drug addiction among young people. The dissertation research presents the theoretical foundations of the study of drug addiction in the youth environment, the medical and social rehabilitation of youth is considered, the empirical basis for the study of drug-dependent youth was the addiction treatment clinic "Free People" in Almaty, in which the study was conducted. In this research work, emphasis was placed on secondary and tertiary prevention, preventive measures were proposed that are effective with a comprehensive use, a targeted approach, with an accurate orientation to the target audience. It is determined that preventive work should be systematic, constant, monitoring, covering young people and the system as a whole, with the creation of living conditions that simulate optimal living conditions and prevent repeated use and addiction. Rehabilitation work should provide impulses for more active contact with others and with oneself.

Faktorer som påverkar en miljöinvestering / Factors that are affecting an environmental in-vestment

ELNER, FREDRIK January 2012 (has links)
The purpose of this master thesis is to present a comparison between the factors that affects an environmental investment. This is done through applying a theoretical framework on the factors affecting a company’s existing appraisal model for environmental investments. The company that was a part of this thesis asked at an initial stage for confidentiality, therefore it is called the Company in this thesis. The Company that contributes with the appraisal model is a multination-al group with operations in many different industries, but with a focus on the Nordic countries and products that may be linked to the agricultural sector. The theoretical framework has its base in the concepts of value and investments and their connection to the environment and the envi-ronmental investment. The identified factors in the theoretical framework are:  The investment’s addition to the value creation to the company  The investment’s environmental impact  How the investment affects the production  Demands from society  Customer demands From these, the factors affecting a company’s existing appraisal model were compared and their connection to theoretical framework was judged according to a 5-grade scale. Information from the Company was acquired through semi-structured interviews with representatives from the Company. The largest deviation is how the company considers an investment’s contribution to the produced value. Because of this imperfection does the company's model not fully incorporate the produced value and that an environmental investment is irreversible. The overall conclusion is that the Company has identified the same factors as the theoretical framework. The Company has though chosen to use their existing methods and performance indicators that don’t fully incorporate the factors in the theoretical framework. The largest devia-tions are how the company considers an investment’s contribution to the produced value and that it should be considered as irreversible. The Company must therefore in order to enhance their appraisal model develop new performance measures for the factors.
