The Relationship between the Perceptions of Organizational politics to staff Affectivity and the Characteristics of Job¡¦s Interaction.
ABSTRACT
This research is based on the framework of revision model proposed by Ferris et al. (2002), discussing the Relationship between the Perceptions of organizational politics to staff status, staff Affectivity and the Characteristics of Job¡¦s Interaction.
It takes 130th staffs of 40 Organization in Taiwan as the research object. 2133 copies of questionnaire have been issued and 1,940 copies have been taken back, the returns-ratio reaches 91.0%. After rejecting 50 invalid copies, the effective volume is 1,890, and effective returns-ratio is 88.6%. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, item analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis and hierarchical linear model.
The major results of this study are as fallowing:
1-1. Positive Affectivity of Staff has a significant effect on perceptions of organizational politics.
1-2. Negative Affectivity of Staff has a significant effect on perceptions of organizational politics.
2-1. The interaction of supervisor and staff has a significant effect of organizational politics.
2-2. The interaction of staff and colleague has a significant effect on perceptions of organizational politics.
3-1.The interaction of staff and supervisor has moderate effect on the relationship between staff Positive affectivity and Perceptions of organizational politics.
3-2.The interaction of staff and supervisor has moderate effect on the relationship between staff negative affectivity and Perceptions of organizational politics.
3-3.The interaction of staff and colleagues has moderate effect on the relationship between staff Positive affectivity and Perceptions of organizational politics.

The Relationship between Perceptions of Organizational Politics and Employees' Affectivity, and the Characteristics of Job Feedback and AccountabilityWu, Szu-Hui 05 September 2008 (has links)
This study is based on the fundamentals of Perceptions of Organizational Politics¡]POP¡^proposed by Ferris, Adams, Kolodinsky, Hochwarter & Ammeter¡]2002¡^. We use the Hierarchical Linear Modeling to verify the relationship between the personal and job/work environment factors and POP. The personal factors include positive and negative affectivities, and job/work environment factors include accountability and feedback.
The results showed a significant relationship between the affectivities of employees and POP. The positive affectivity was in a negative correlation with the POP while the positive affectivity was in a positive correlation. The job/work environment had a good relationship with POP as well. The job feedback showed a negative correlation POP while job accountability showed a positive correlation. However, the current study showed that the relationship between employees' affectivity and POP was not influenced by the job feedback and job accountability.

Buscamos a compreensão dos meios pelos quais o universo afetivo se manifesta na relação professor-aluno e no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Analisamos, mais especificamente, como as emoções e sentimentos, dentro do campo da afetividade interferem no desenvolvimento cognitivo e social dos alunos, e quais habilidades de relacionamento o professor pode desenvolver para aprimorar a mediação pedagógica no trabalho em sala de aula. Utilizamos como ferramenta o aporte teórico Walloniano de afetividade e a metodologia de estudo de caso, no moldes propostos por Robert K. Yin (2001). A escola foi o cenário escolhido para a realização do estudo. Realizamos observação in loco por 1º semestre letivo e entrevistas com os docentes de duas escolas públicas de uma cidade de médio porte do interior do Estado de São Paulo, em duas salas de 5º ano do ensino fundamental. No desenvolvimento da coleta de dados estabelecemos quatro categorias para facilitar a análise: movimentos; expressões faciais; fala e gestos. Por se tratar de um estudo de casos múltiplos, a fontes de evidencias obtidas por meio das entrevistas e das observações puderam ser inter-relacionadas através de cruzamento e triangulação dos dados proporcionando o alcance dos objetivos iniciais. We seek to understand how the affective universe manifests in the teacher-student relationship and in the process of teaching and learning. We analyzed, specifically, how emotions and feelings, within the affective field, interfere with students' cognitive and social development, and what relationship skills, the teacher can develop to enhance pedagogical mediation in classroom work. We used as a tool the theoretical Walloniano contribution of affectivity and the methodology of case study, as proposed by Robert K. Yin (2001). The school was the scenario involved to carry out the study. We performed on-site observation for the first semester of school, and interviews with teachers of two public schools of a medium-sized city in the interior of the State of São Paulo, in two rooms of the 5th year of elementary school. In the development of the data collection, we established four categories to facilitate the analysis: movements; facial expressions; speech and gestures. Because it is a multiple case study, the sources of evidence obtained through interviews and observations could be interrelated through cross-referencing and triangulation of the data, providing the scope of the initial objectives. Emotional influences were evidenced in everyday practices, decisively influencing learning situations. Gilles Deleuze once famously stated that Spinoza’s remark that ”we do not know beforehand what a body can do” should be read as a cri de guerre against a philosophical tradition that ever since antiquity has devalued the role of the body in the formation of knowledge. This paper further investigates the role of the body in Spinoza’s Ethics by examining what I shall call the becoming-active of the body. Commentators often interpret activity as pertaining to the formation of rational thought through the so-called ”common notions” in the Ethics. However, in doing so, they often neglect the central role played by the body in the process of becoming active. Thinking, for Spinoza, is always ”in the midst of things”, and as such it must be interpreted according to the basic affective relationality of the body. The act of thought; the activity of thinking, must be understood as an expression of a more fundamental activity of the body if we are to remain true to the implications of Spinoza’s monistic ontology. The goal of this paper, then, is to show how the becoming-active of the body is a necessary correlate to the activity of the soul in the Ethics. By demonstrating this, I will show in the concluding sections of my investigation, how the role played by the body and affectivity in Spinoza’s philosophy forces us to reconsider not only ethics, but the activity of thinking in general.

Previous issue date: 2016 / The naturalized view that poor families are accommodated and dysfunctional as their affective relationships are weakened or broken, whose feelings and emotions direct them to assume resigned and fatalistic attitudes are present in capitalist culture. Thus, in order to give voice to these families, this research question itself about which way the affections constituted in the experience of poverty of families which were assisted by CRAS? In this way, the research draw attention to overall goal of understanding the senses of the affections of families assisted by CRAS who experience the poverty situation. Poverty is sighted in this study under a multidimensional approach (SEN, 2010) which considers the structure of opportunities as a fundamental aspect for the exercise of human freedom. Based on a study of qualitative focusing on intervention research, the research was developed with families accompanied by professionals from CRAS located in Conjunto Esperança neighborhood in the city of Fortaleza (CE). The methodological resources to build its data included participant observation with data journaling field, the application of Socioeconomic Questionnaire to 38 family representatives, facilitation of five workshops with families and interviews with four family groups whose representatives had participated in the workshops. The data have been analyzed from the proposal of the Thematic Content Analysis of Bardin (2011) with the help of qualitative software Atlas Ti 5.2. The results show a life in a poverty condition curtailed by abandoning history, conflicting family and community relationships, child labor, early pregnancy, urban violence, low education level, income and food deprivation associated with feelings of shame, humiliation, despair, sadness and fear which unpower the being. In this context, the allocation of responsibility for the facts to God works as damping element of social and emotional tensions generated by the insecurity of an uncertain future. On the other hand, harmonious family relationships guided in the affections of love and joy are constitute as important elements to bear the pain of the suffering caused by adverse life circumstances. Furthermore, gratitude and benevolence shown to be the affections of excellence focused on the social support of people in the community and public policy that ultimately turn powerless affects in powerful ones and this transformation materialized in solidarity practices, resulting in a more positive way of positioning across the world. We see the need to increasingly promote a liberating praxis that enables the expansion of human power provided since it should be guided by a comprehensive view of the subject from the knowledge of psychosocial conditions that underlie the understanding of emotions, affectivity being sighted as an instrument of social inclusion and mediation of more active posture toward the world. / A visão naturalizada de que as famílias pobres são acomodadas e desestruturadas à medida que suas relações afetivas se encontram fragilizadas ou rompidas, cujos sentimentos e emoções os direcionam a assumirem posturas resignadas e fatalistas, estão presentes na cultura capitalista. Dessa forma, com o intuito de dar voz a essas famílias, esta pesquisa se questiona sobre quais os sentidos dos afetos constituídos na vivência de pobreza das famílias acompanhadas pelo CRAS? Nesse sentido, atenta-se para o objetivo geral de compreender os sentidos dos afetos das famílias acompanhadas pelo CRAS que vivenciam situação de pobreza. A pobreza é avistada neste estudo sobre o enfoque multidimensional (SEN, 2010) que considera a estrutura de oportunidades como aspecto fundamental para o exercício da liberdade humana. Tomando como base um estudo de natureza qualitativa com enfoque na pesquisa-intervenção, a pesquisa foi desenvolvida junto às famílias acompanhadas pelos profissionais do CRAS Conjunto Esperança localizado na cidade de Fortaleza (CE). Os recursos metodológicos para a construção de dados abrangeu a observação participante com registro de dados em diário de campo, a aplicação do Questionário Socioeconômico a 38 representantes familiares, a facilitação de cinco oficinas com famílias, e entrevistas com 4 grupos familiares cujos representantes haviam participado das oficinas. Os dados gerados foram analisados a partir da proposta da Análise de Conteúdo Temática de Bardin (2011) com o auxílio do software qualitativo Atlas Ti 5.2. Os resultados apontam uma vida em condição de pobreza cerceada pelo histórico de abandono, relações familiares e comunitárias conflituosas, trabalho infantil, gravidez precoce, violência urbana, baixo nível de escolaridade, privação de renda e de alimentos associados a sentimentos de vergonha, humilhação, desespero, tristeza e medo que, por sua vez, despotencializa o ser. Nesse contexto, a atribuição da responsabilidade dos fatos a Deus funciona como elemento amortecedor das tensões sociais e emocionais gerados pela insegurança de um futuro incerto. Por outro lado, as relações familiares harmoniosas pautadas nos afetos de amor e alegria se constituem como elementos importantes para suportar a dor do sofrimento ocasionado pelas circunstâncias adversas da vida. Ademais, a gratidão e a benevolência demonstraram ser os afetos por excelência voltados para o apoio social das pessoas da comunidade e da política pública que acabam por transformar os afetos impotentes em potentes sendo essa transformação materializada nas práticas solidárias, implicando em uma forma mais positiva de se posicionar frente ao mundo. Percebe-se a necessidade de cada vez mais se promover uma práxis libertadora que viabilize a expansão da potência humana, desde que seja orientada por uma visão integral do sujeito a partir do conhecimento das condições psicossociais que perpassam a compreensão dos afetos, sendo a afetividade avistada como um instrumento de inclusão social e de mediação de posturas mais ativas frente ao mundo.

Performance of wit(h)nessing : trauma and affect in contemporary live artKuburović, Branislava January 2011 (has links)
This thesis investigates traumatic affectivity and a complex mesh of artistic strategies in contemporary live art and performance that allow a certain material renegotiation and transformation of social and personal traumatic histories. These strategies are analysed not as means of interpersonal transmission of experience through narrative capture and consolation, but of a transmission of affect, where the sense of affective sharing, of ‘wit(h)nessing’ and ‘transmissibility’ of (traumatic) affect is distinguished from the idea of identification, of mirroring, of emotional identification that in fact subsumes the other to the same, to a life as we can readily articulate and regulate it without needing to acknowledge the violence inherent in such articulations. The thesis also explores how the notion of dramaturgy changes when observed from the perspective of trauma. Dramaturgy is here understood as ‘the text (the weave) of the performance’, where performance is seen to encompass a wide range of artistic practices which involve some element of live or recorded performed action. Such definition of dramaturgy becomes especially significant when this text/weave is marked by a traumatic occurrence, which by definition damages, tears down its integrating fabric. How can we address the difficulty, physically and philosophically, of accessing a destructive event through a creative act? As one possible answer, the thesis proposes the notion of ‘dramaturgies of loss’, of a certain ‘melancholy’ or ‘traumatic’ text as a creative answer to the forces of violence. It argues that an awkward, uncomfortable presence of certain misplaced, ‘emptied’ mimetic forms of contemporary dance and performance can be seen to create a parallel topography that can retroact on accepted notions of culture and render what belongs inside or outside of the cultural sphere indeterminate and thus potentially open to change.

Affectivity and Organizational Politics as Antecedents of Burnout Among Frontline Hotel EmployeesKaratepe, Osman M., Babakus, Emin, Yavas, Ugur 01 March 2012 (has links)
This study investigates perceptions of organizational politics as a mediator of the effects of negative affectivity and positive affectivity on burnout. Based on data obtained from frontline hotel employees in Turkey, results reveal that the impacts of negative affectivity on exhaustion and disengagement, through perceptions of organizational politics, are stronger than positive affectivity.
