Energy Diagnostic and Experimental Investigation of a Typical Multi-function Building in Taiwan

HSU, PEI-CHUN 16 June 2004 (has links)
Based on field measurement data, the air-conditioning system consumes more than 40% of the building total energy use, followed by 30% of lighting, and 30% of miscellaneous pumping systems.. Among them, 60% power was consumed by chiller plants, while the chilled water pumping and air side equipment each accounts for another 20%. It is no doubt, that the energy efficiency improvement of chillers is one of the most important items in building energy conservation. It is common practice to design an air-conditioning system based on peak cooling load, namely, peak cooling demand on August 17, 3 p.m. Therefore, the chillers were mostly over-sized, while most of the time the chiller plant is operating under partial load conditions (PLF), which consumes more energy resulting in higher kw/RT and lower COP. It is the goal of this project to develop intelligent operation strategies of chiller plants under various seasonal conditions and to validate the effectiveness by full-scale experiment. At first, a typical central air-conditioning system will be selected and operated under various PLF conditions with the supply and return chilled water and flow rates recorded for energy calculations. By applying the simulation procedure developed by the ASHRAE using regression technique, the performance curve of a specific chiller under various PLF can be obtained with the kw/RT value identified. By simulating the multiple chiller cooperating combinations, an optimal operation strategy can be developed with the best economic benefits. Through the execution of this project, such an operation strategy, developed and validated under local weather conditions warrants good potential for engineering applications

Urbanová, Magdaléna January 2008 (has links)
Diploma thesis is focused on the design of restaurant's air-condition system for 60 persons as well as air-condition system for adjacent kitchen. The work consists of an introduction to the problematic of air-condition systems and its arrangement in the project. Diploma thesis consists of two parts - computational and design. Computational part includes computations of a quantity of an aeration air, calculation of thermal losses, stress and psychrometric evaluation of operation during summer and winter. Design part consists of designing of location and slot diffuser dimensioning, design of air conduct paths, its dimensioning and calculation of pressure losses. This work also includes designing of ventilation of machine-room, selection of air-condition units and its measurement and regulation. Drawing documentation and material specifications are also part of this diploma thesis.

Návrh lisovacích přípravků na manifoldové sestavy kondenzátoru automobilové klimatizace / Design of pressing machines for manifold assembly of condensers in car air-conditioning unit

Juriga, Jakub January 2016 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of pressing machines for manifold assembly of condensers in the car air-conditioning unit. The problem of the current assembling process is its inefficiency. Semi-automated assembly using pneumatic pressing machines eliminates this problem. In the theoretical part the air-conditioning components, current state of assembly and calculating base of pressing are described. In the practical part the test of pressing force was conducted. Based on this test, the design of four pneumatic pressing machines was accomplished. In the final part of the work, evaluation of the whole project is provided.

Den lilla grossistens ändrade omvärldsförutsättningar : En fallstudie på en liten grossist inom VVS-handeln

Urdzanov, Kiril, Essén, Christian January 2008 (has links)

/
This essay is about the smaller wholesalers situation on the Swedish market. The small wholesalers key positioning in the generic value chain is dissapearing. Therefore they have to find new ways to retention their existing customers. They have to create a value added in order of connect tier to their customers. A wholesaler will be able to create value added through developing different forms of cooperation with its customers.

Snökyla för is och komfort : Möjligheter att använda snö för komfortkyla och isproduktion vid Rocklundas idrottsarenor

Vera Ibanez, Anatole January 2017 (has links)
The idea of snow cooling in this case is to save snow from winter to summer and to use it for air conditioning and for saving energy in the production of ice in hockey arenas. Today in Sweden, snow power on a large scale is used only on one place, the hospital in Sundsvall. There you’ll find a pond with 70 000 m3 of snow. The melt water in the pond is heated up while cooling down warm air from the hospital, before circulating back to the pond where it regains a low temperature passing through the snow. The idea was to examine the possibility to use such a system in Västerås, at the multiple sports arenas at Rocklunda, partly for air conditioning and partly for ice production. This work was made possible through gathering information on snow storage and on the Sundsvall snow cooling plant, by interviewing people with insight in the Sundsvall hospital and Rocklunda sports arenas and by calculating the electricity consumption, necessary amount of snow and making an LCC-analysis. For air conditioning the melt water would be used like in Sundsvall but for ice production the melt water would be used for condensing the cooling media in the heat pump at a lower temperature then it would do while cooling with air or river water during summer. Annual electricity savings of 120 and 154 MWh for the arenas were made for 2016 and 2017 when using the snow for ice production. For the air conditioning the saving were estimated to around 55 MWh per year. A snow dispatch hatch in one of the hockey arenas made an alternative to a full-scale snow cooling system. Using this hatch for temporal snow power could save up to 62 MWh per year when used for ice production and 38 MWh when used for air conditioning. The estimated costs for construction of said system proved to be too expensive for making a full-scale snow power system a reality. For ice production a storage of 103 000 m3 of snow was needed which made for a result of -57 MSEK in the LCC-analysis. For the air conditioning alone, a storage of 6 000 m3 was needed which made for a result of -4.2 MSEK. The snow dispose hatch, even without the need of snow storage, resulted in -5.9 MSEK for ice production and -1.6 MSEK for air conditioning. With more thoroughly estimations of the investment costs, together with global warming and thus bigger potential for saving energy, this might be a promising investment in the future.
