L'anticipation successorale à l'épreuve de l'allongement de l'espérance de vie / Estate planning and aging

Gayet, Marie 09 December 2016 (has links)
It’s a fact : the French population is aging. This demographic trend has an impact on inheritance law and estate planning. On one hand, seniors are encouraged to hand down property to younger generations early on. On the other hand, they are asked to put aside money for their own care. Estate planning must adapt to this new context. As of now, stability and adaptability are the two primordial characteristics of good estate planning, although they’re apparently irreconcilable. First, you must be sure that wishes will be respected and not betrayed by the heirs after your death. Then, Estate planning will be more efficient if it can adapt. Life changes, needs change, so the elderly must be free to change their mind when a project made years ago becomes irrelevant. To be more efficient, estate planning must combine the qualities of the oak and the reed : the robustness of the old tree and the flexibility of the young plant.

Orientador: Agueda Bernardete Bittencourt / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Educação / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-26T14:07:29Z (GMT). The domain of the mother language is presented as one of the required capital and it is socio-culturally constructed, considering that express the official language is not natural - quite the contrary, differentiates individuals. Given this scene, can be observed the existence of political speeches and Law Projects that consider an anticipation of admission in elementary school a means to boost democratization and quality of teaching. This study conducts a survey of political and academic representatives that consider the expansion and anticipation of school access a way to improve opportunities and quality of education. To do so, this research builds on the work presented in two major education conferences in the country (COLE and ANPEd), theses and dissertations of Colleges of Education at UNICAMP, USP and UFMG and analysis of trajectories of politicians who advocate this proposal, to understand how is the debate on the subject, both in the political sphere as in academia / Mestrado / Educação, Conhecimento, Linguagem e Arte / Mestra em Educação

Deep Learning Action Anticipation for Real-time Control of Water Valves: Wudu use case

Felemban, Abdulwahab A. 12 1900 (has links)
Human-machine interaction could support many daily activities in making it more convenient. The development of smart devices has flourished the underlying smart systems that process smart and personalized control of devices. The first step in controlling any device is observation; through understanding the surrounding environment and human activity, a smart system can physically control a device. Human activity recognition (HAR) is essential in many smart applications such as self-driving cars, human-robot interaction, and automatic systems such as infrared (IR) taps. For human-centric systems, there are some requirements to perform a physical task in real-time. For human-machine interactions, the anticipation of human actions is essential. IR taps have delay limitations because of the proximity sensor that signals the solenoid valve only when the user’s hands are exactly below the tap. The hardware and electronics delay causes inconvenience in use and water waste. In this thesis, an alternative control based on deep learning action anticipation is proposed. Humans interact with taps for various tasks such as washing hands, face, brushing teeth, just to name a few. We focus on a small subset of these activities. Specifically, we focus on the activities carried out sequentially during an Islamic cleansing ritual called Wudu. Skeleton modality is widely used in HAR because of having abstract information that is scale-invariant and robust against imagery variances. We used depth cameras to obtain accurate 3D human skeletons of users performing Wudu. The sequences were manually annotated with ten atomic action classes. This thesis investigated the use of different Deep Learning networks with architectures optimized for real-time action anticipation. The proposed methods were mainly based on the Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolutional Network. With further improvements, we proposed a Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) model with Spatial-Temporal Graph Convolution Network (ST-GCN) backbone to extract local temporal features. The GRU process the local temporal latent features sequentially to predict future actions. The proposed models scored 94.14% recall on binary classification to turn on and off the water tap. And higher than 81.58-89.08% recall on multiclass classification.

Anticipace při simultánním tlumočení z němčiny do češtiny / Anticipation in Simultaneous Interpreting from German into Czech

Zouzalíková, Šárka January 2020 (has links)
This theoretical-empirical thesis focuses on anticipation in simultaneous interpreting from German into Czech. The theoretical part presents an overview of commonly used interpreting strategies and subsequently concentrates on anticipation, its types, and findings of previous studies on this topic. The theoretical part also describes the main syntactic attributes of German that are likely to lead an interpreter to use anticipation. The aim of the empirical part is to find out if students of interpreting use this strategy. If so, the question is how often anticipation occurs and which type of anticipation is used. The empirical part includes an experiment on two groups of interpreting students, one group having one year worth of experience more with simultaneous interpreting than the other. Their interpretations are subsequently analyzed and compared. Keywords simultaneous interpreting, interpreting strategies, anticipation, probability prognosis

The Effect of External Distractions on Novice and Experienced Drivers' Anticipation of Hazards and Vehicle Control

Divekar, Gautam 01 January 2011 (has links) (PDF)
Out-of-vehicle distractions were identified as contributing factors to about 29.4 % of all crashes that were reported between the years 1995 to 1999 (Stutts J. K., 2005; Stutts J. R., 2001).These crash statistics are from a decade ago. With the increase of cars, pedestrians, shops, vendors, billboards and signs over the last decade it can be safely assumed that the driving environment is more complex now and has greater potential for external driver distraction. Given this, it is important to know the effects of out-of-vehicle distraction on drivers’ ability to drive safely in their presence. With this in mind, a driving simulator study was conducted that compared younger novice and older experienced drivers on their ability to maintain their attention on the forward roadway, anticipate potential hazards and maintain vehicle control while performing an out-of-vehicle tasks. The results of the experiment indicate that both age groups took equally long glances away from the forward roadway at the out-of-vehicle task and that these long glances away from the forward roadway had a negative effects on the hazard anticipation performance of both age groups. In addition, these long glances away from the forward roadway did have a significantly negative impact on the lane maintainence ability of younger drivers as compared to their experienced counterparts but these long glances away from the forward roadway did not seem to affect the speed maintainence abilities of either group. No matter what the vehicle measures indicate, it is clear that both age groups are at elevated risk of crashing when they are attending to tasks that are outside the vehicle.

How To Make Room For Moving? : within conversation

Jochimsen, Mira January 2023 (has links)
This essay is part of my Bachelor’s degree project called How To Make Room For Moving?.  It consists of two parts. The first part is a conversation between four fictive characters about the experience of the performance How To Make Room For Moving?. The second part is a collection of texts in different formats written during, after and from the physical work in the studio.  How To Make Room For Moving? is a dance that practices ways to reach beyond the forms I know, to listen to more things at once and to build a real trust in the body. It involves going to the studio day by day and filling it with dancing. When I leave, I observe what remains. Something is piling up, there in the empty space. When I return, I ask: how to make room for moving today?
