Bei der Publikation handelt es sich um den Abschlussbericht einer erstmals durchgeführten Befragung der Absolventen der Fakultät Architektur der TU Dresden zum beruflichen Verbleib und zur retrospektiven Bewertung der Studienqualität. Der vorliegende Abschlussbericht gliedert sich zunächst in eine Kurzzusammenfassung der wichtigsten Ergebnisse, dann in einen Abschnitt zur Anlage und Durchführung der Studie und in Abschnitte zu den einzelnen Themengebieten der Befragung. Im einzelnen wurden in Zusammenarbeit mit der Hochschulleitung der TU Dresden als Ziele und Themen der Absolventenbefragungen formuliert: An erster Stelle stand die Informationsgewinnung zum Verbleib der Absolventen, ihrer Berufsfelder, Einkommen, Arbeitszufriedenheit und Arbeitsmarktchancen. Die Informationsgewinnung zur retrospektiven Bewertung der Qualität der Lehre und des Studiums durch Absolventen stand an zweiter Stelle. So sollen durch die Fakultäten auch Anregungen und Verbesserungsvorschläge zur Reform von Studienprogrammen abgeleitet werden können und Vergleichsmöglichkeiten mit der Bewertung der Lehre und des Studiums durch Studenten gewonnen werden. Weitere Ziele waren Vorbereitungen für kontinuierliche Absolventenbefragungen an allen Fakultäten der TU Dresden sowie Fragebogen-Adaptionen für die Fakultäten Schließlich wurde als langfristiges Ziel die Entwicklung eines fundierten Befragungsdesigns für Längsschnittstudien (Wiederholung der Befragungen nach mehreren Jahren mit denselben und neuen Absolventen) flächendeckend für alle Fakultäten der TU Dresden genannt. Zusätzlich zu den einzelnen Themengebieten der Befragung erfolgte eine Analyse der Bestimmungsgründe beruflichen Erfolgs. Gerade letztere Analyse führte auch zu einigen unerwarteten Ergebnissen. Gängige (hochschulpolitische) Thesen, welche Absolventen besonders erfolgreich seien, konnten nicht bestätigt werden. Andere Eigenschaften erwiesen sich als wesentlich wichtiger. Mit der „Siedlungsanlage Dresden-Strehlen“ entstand zwischen 1926 und 1928 eine der bemerkenswerten Wohnanlagen in der Stadt Dresden. Sie wurde im Auftrag der „Heimstättengesellschaft Sachsen“ GmbH -HGS- nach Entwürfen des Architekten Paul Löffler errichtet. Ergänzende Wohnbauten - zwischen 1929 und 1934 realisiert - stammen von Hans Vasak. Weiterhin sind Wohnbauten des „Allgemeinen Mietbewohnerverein“ in Dresden zu nennen. Im Zusammenhang mit der Baugeschichte dieser Siedlungsanlage wird der tragische Niedergang und eine hiermit verbundene Legendenbildung vorgestellt. Die Dokumentation umfasst 42 Seiten mit 32 Abbildungen, Bebauungsplänen, Grundrisszeichnungen und bisher nicht veröffentlichten Fotos (um 1929).

This thesis focuses on the specification of specified construction activities, explaining the concepts related to this basic legislation. Here are given duties and responsibilities of authorized persons during the construction process. The description of qualifications that are needed for various activities in the construction industry is also included. Der Artikel zählt ca. 350 Architekten, Bauingenieure und Baubeamte auf, die sich vom 18. bis 20. Jahrhundert in Dresdner Freimaurerlogen nachweisen lassen. Hinweise zu diversen Schriftquellen der Logen bieten eine Ergänzung zu den Lebensdaten der Personen.

The present thesis focuses at analysing the development of the Cistercian monastery in Plasy during the Baroque period, as well the monastery festivities, which belonged among important events of the monastery's everyday life, being an inseparable part of routine within the renewed monastery structure and new sacral foundations. The thesis is structured into five chapters, each analysing a particular part of the present topic. The first chapter maps the spiritual and social development of the Cistercian Order and its activities in the Czech Lands, and describes the specifics of the Order liturgy. The adoration of Our Lady has been an inseparable part of the Cistercian devotion and, as such, has become the topic of one of the chapters of the present thesis. Plasy monastery's abbots, the elected superiors of the order, were closely tied to the renewal of the monastery, applying their artistic ambitions to the reconstruction. The major focus of the whole thesis is set on the linkage of primary sources to the individual aspects of life of the Order, such as the Order liturgy, the issue of the foundation stones, or the apotheosis of the newly built structures by Giovanni Battista Santini-Aichel. The thesis is a radical reconstruction and completion of a unique brownfield for cultural purposes, incubator of creativity, business and housing. The building is a former penitentiary near the city center between streets Bratislavská, Soudní and Cejl. It is a historical building which is currently unused. The complex for starting young entrepreneurs in a field of culture is supposed to serve as a center for a general public of art, particularly for the areas of so called industry of creativity such as architects, designers, painters, sculptors and also musicians, designers and developers of computer games. The building is historically valuable, especially due to the original vaults in the old part of the building which remain preserverd as much as possible. Only a part of a west wing has been demolished in order to construct a new expressive form as a shape of crystal which attracts the public from the Cejl street as it could be easily overlooked otherwise. The crystal has become a dominant part of the building and servers as a main entrance. A newer, less valuable part of the complex from the Bratislavská street, has been razed so there could be an underground parking and new extensions built serving the commercial and administrative purposes. The extenstions are the two operationally and structurally separated buildings allowing opening the entire area. A coridor which these two extensions create in between expands in a direction towards the legacy parts of the complex, thus the passers-by from a general public are pulled into the creative center through an attractive front-place. The original layou of each wing is retained what influenced their functional use decently. There are studios and workshops for artists located in the existing two floors along with multi-purpose hall, design market and theater hall with a trial rooms. There are additional studios, school of art with drawing and reading rooms and commercial areas situated in the extended floors.

A comprehensive monograph covering the life and life's work of architect Josef Mocker (22 November 1835 - 16 January 1899) has not yet been published, however, there are a number of partial works by individual historians, especially art historians, which explore Mocker's work in depth. In addition to numerous designs, building projects, and applied liturgical art, Mocker's life's work was primarily the completion of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Saints Vitus, Wenceslaus and Adalbert at Prague Castle in 1872-1899. And while there is a fairly widespread awareness of Mocker's extensive work, sadly, only little is known about his personal life. This thesis thus aims to make available a part of the surviving correspondence from the period 1871-1882 in the form of an edition of sources, allowing a glimpse into the life and thoughts of the architect Josef Mocker in his own words. Given the private nature of the letters, the paper departs from a purely artistic appreciation of the architect's work and views Josef Mocker more as a historical figure. The emphasis is placed on understanding the environment that surrounded him in a cultural and historical context in the period before starting a family.
