Codec de Audio con Pérdida de Paquetes para Teléfonos Móviles

Opazo Cabaña, Alejandro Andrés January 2008 (has links)

Using In-Vivo Audio Feedback to Improve Cycling Performance

Coet, Andrew Lee 23 March 2018 (has links)
Many behavioral interventions have attempted to increase sports performance. These interventions include: goal setting and feedback, behavioral coaching, and acoustical guidance. The use of technological devices in all areas of life continues to steadily increase. Therefore, behavioral interventions should also adapt to meet these changes in technology. One such intervention is in-vivo audio feedback in which participants receive live feedback about their current performance while practicing the skill. In-vivo audio feedback has not yet been rigorously evaluated as a means of improving sports performance. This study used a multiple baseline across participants design to evaluate the effects of in-vivo audio feedback on cycling performance. Results from this study suggest that in-vivo audio feedback was an effective method for improving cycling performance for individuals wishing to increase their average cycling speed.

USING AUDIO SCREENCAST FOR FEEDBACK ON SHORT WRITTEN ESSAYS

Cunningham, Marcelene Allecia 01 August 2015 (has links)
Although feedback on writing is researched in the disciplinary context of teaching writing, little research investigates feedback on short-form essay writing. The field of instructional design is also lacking in research on feedback in the teaching of writing. However, research in the field of multimedia learning including the personalization principle (Mayer, 2001) would seem to support providing conversational audio as an alternative to providing written corrective feedback to students who are engaged in the writing process. Even though the field of Rhetoric and Composition and Instructional Design does not offer much research on feedback on short-form writing, the most substantial research base comes from the field of English as a Second Language (ESL). The purpose of this study was two-fold. Firstly, the study explored pre-medical students' perceptions, and achievement on the types of feedback received on their writing assignments. Secondly, the study examined the types of feedback an instructor is more likely to give in the different formats of traditional written versus audio screencast formats. The participants for this study included 1 instructor, who was a subject of analysis, and 31 pre-medical students at a Midwestern university. The study was categorized into three strands. Strand 1 utilized a survey design, Strand 2 utilized a repeated-measure design, and Strand 3 utilized a content analysis design to address the research questions. In Strand 1, the open-ended questions revealed that students liked the feedback via audio screencast as being more personal, but also found written corrective feedback more specific. In addition, a combined feedback approach was evident from the closed-ended questions. In Strand 2, data analysis revealed statistically significant increase in all the students' essay scores except for assignments 1 and 5, in which the traditional written format was utilized. In Strand 3, data analysis revealed that a significantly more direct and indirect corrective feedback comments were given by the instructor on essays when utilizing the traditional written feedback format compared to when feedback via audio screencast was used. Data analysis also revealed that the instructor had a substantially higher usage of rhetorical and social supportive feedback when providing feedback via audio screencast as opposed to the traditional written feedback format. The study contributes to the existing body of literature on audio feedback and written feedback on writing assignments in ESL, and serves as a foundation for writing teachers who are interested in writing in general and feedback on writing assignments. The study suggests that instructional designers can use the findings of this study to guide and inform their decisions about innovative approaches to providing feedback on students writing, which is a vehicle for critical thinking, and synthesis in many content areas.

Starting from the video-documentation of the Tecer Project, a living along experience with autistic called children, the present work makes a research about the history of the cinema and the art, searching for possible approaches between documentary films and artworks. The documentation had two focuses, to assist the development of the Tecer Project, and to create a film capable of modifying the image of the autistic children in the society. The research, that involves a study on the films The Man with the Movie Camera, from Dziga Vertov, Nanook of the North, from Robert J. Flaherty, and Chronicle of a Summer from Jean Rouch and Edgard Morin, tries to identify artistic aspects of the making of cinematographic documentaries. These are films witch bring a poetical elaboration of the cinematographic language, and, even being considered documentaries, they absorbed methods and typical techniques of the fictional cinema. Traditionally, the documentary film explores a relation with the reality. The development of the documentary language made possible that this relation could be clearer in the artwork, to the point of proper film maker to appear in the screen, as occurs in Chronicle of a Summer, evidencing that the film maker modifies himself, and modifies the object that he shoots, while filming it. Having conscience of the history and methods of audio-visual production, the present work presents the film Entre Nós, witch is the result of a five year documentation of the Tecer Project. A video-documentary that reconstructs the experience of living along with autistic children, according to the vision of the documentary film maker.

Digital control of a Class-D Audio Amplifier

Quibell, Jason January 2011 (has links)
Thesis (MTech (Electrical Engineering))--Cape Peninsula University of Technology, 2011 / Modern technologies have led to extensive digital music reproduction and distribution. It is fitting then that digital audio be amplified directly from its source rather than being converted to an analogue waveform before amplification. The benefits of using a digital controller for audio processing include being able to easily reconfigure the system and to add additional functions at a later stage.Digital audio is primarily stored as Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) while Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is the most popular scheme used to drive a class-D amplifier. The class-D amplifier is selected in many applications due to its very high energy efficiency. Conventional PCM to PWM conversion is inherently nonlinear. Various interpolation schemes are presented in this research project which help to address the nonlinearity.Digitally generated PWM has a limited resolution which is constrained by the system clock. This thesis presents noise shaping techniques which increase the effective resolution of the PWM process without having to use an excessively high system clock. Noise shaping allows a low resolution modulator to be used to reproduce high resolution audio.

Biemond, Catharina Elizabeth 14 May 2014 (has links)
M.Ed. (Didactic Education) / All over the world History as a school subject is on the defensive. This phenomenon is usually attributed to a variety of causes. In general however, the reason for this crisis is seldom seen in the traditional approach and teaching of the subject. At university, the secondary and even the primary school the understanding of the past is the cornerstone for the study of History. Accordingly History has only by accident any real value for the child living in the present day society. potentially however, History is, due to man's historicity, one of the most fundamental ways of broadening his perspective. Unfortunately this basic fact is often neglected in the approach to and teaching of the subject. Educational principles are neglected and the content seems to be relatively meaningless to the pupils. There has been a general neglect of play or simulation games as a subject for research or study. Scientists, biologists, anthropologists and psychologists have studied play, but in most cases it has been concerned with animals. It is believed that in future the power of simulation as a learning tool will attain the consideration and support it should have. Only if History is restructured at all levels in accordance with sound educational principles and in an existentially relevant way, the subject will, at least in principle, regain the ground that has been lost.
