Det var inte sagor och hittepå

Bennedal, Marie January 2015 (has links)
The aim of this study is to examine how authenticity is constructed in a group on the internet focusing on replicating historical clothes. The group is called Vi som syr medeltidskläder and is located on Facebook. The conversations between the members of the group is analysed with a netnographic method. The theoretical frame of the investigation is a constructive view on authenticity, subcultural and social capital, categories, dichotomies and formal and informal hierarchies. The investigation shows, among other things, that authenticity is constructed through conversations between members in the group with high subcultural capital, high up in the informal hierarchy with support from members with a place high up in the formal hierarchy. The results also show that the members with high subcultural capital often have a connection to museums and universities and that these places are related to the construction of authenticity even here. Further the investigation shows that the view on authenticity in the group is crystallizing, causing members to create or join new, similar groups if their view does not correspond to the view in the rest of the group.

Ett alldeles för modernt kulturarv : En kvalitativ studie om modernisering av kulturarv på Fredrikskyrkan i Karlskrona / A too Modern Cultural Heritage : A Qualitative Study On The Modernization Of The Cultural Heritage On Fredrik´s Church In Karlskrona

André, Louise January 2023 (has links)
Something is happening to our cultural heritage. The longer time gose by, the faster the clock of preservation of the future of cultural buildings is ticking. Just like any old building, there comes a time when renovation is a must. Renovation is seen as something positive, but what happens when you mix the concept of renovation with words like cultural heritage? For all lod buildings specifically, and even som for an historic, suddenly it can become unacceptable. In ths study, the renovation and modernization of cultural heritage will be put to the test. Is change together with modernization something negative or is it the new way to go, not only to preserve cultural heritage and its historical impact on society but also preservation ot for future generations? This study has its focus on Fredrikskyrkan in the city of Karlskrona. This church went through a dramatic renovation and modernization between 2016-2018 and is now a multifunctional church where not only chourch activities are held. The reason why this particular church has been used in this study is because the altar and pews were chosen to be removed and large dramatic changes made people in general disagree with the new look. Through the course of the study, we will delve into how the modernization was motivated and how it has affected Fredrikskyrkan as a cultural heritage object, based on interview, data material, submitted texts from newspapers together with previous research focusing on, modernization and church cultural heritage Together with theories such as collective memories and the meaning of authenticity, the study will try to answer the question: What the motives were for the renovation and whether modernization and restoration can be linked to notions of preservation and modernization. The conclution shows that a balance that must exist between cultural heritage and new thinking of modernization. In connection with the renovation of Fredrikskyrkan, the concept of authenticity and collective memories was put to the test.

DOCUMENTS AUTHENTIQUES ET COMMUNICATION ORALE EN CLASSE FLE : L’influence des documents authentiques sur la communication orale / Authentic documents and oral communication: The influence of authentic documents on oral communication

Mandart, Mikael January 2023 (has links)
This study explores the impact of authentic materials on the oral competence of students. In extension, this study is interested in the perspectives and experiences of authentic materials among teachers in French in Swedish secondary school.A solid theoretical framework has been made in the aim at understanding and appreciating the key words of this research, such as oral competence, authenticity, and authentic documents to guarantee a common understanding of these terms which form the basis of this study. In addition, this step allowed to highlight the importance of these criteria in Swedish official educational documents but also to understand how authentic documents help develop students' oral skills. For the purposes of the study a qualitative design was chosen, and data was collected by three semi-structured interviews with three teachers. The results of this study show that two out of three teachers do not particularly consider the criterion of authenticity, and one identified reason was that these teachers simply did not consider this criterion, for lack of time and preferring to use a textbook. However, the teacher who regularly uses authentic materials experiences that it improves the motivation of students and make them more inclined to communicate orally in the target language. Thus, this study points out that few teachers may consider the criterion of authenticity and the use of authentic documents, since out of 3 teachers questioned, only one regularly uses authentic materials. The conclusion is drawn that teachers might be unaware of the many benefits with using authentic materials, which was highlighted during the theoretical research but also in the results of interviews which suggests that the students speak more easily in the target language when the teacher uses authentic materials, preferably in a playful way.

Ett knapptryck bort från en manipulerad verklighet : En semiotisk analys av AR- och AI-filter i fotoredigeringsappar ämnade för sociala medier / One click away from a manipulated reality : A Semiotic Analysis of AR- and AI Filters in Photo Editing Apps intended for social media

Landin, Isa January 2023 (has links)
In today's social media we see an increase in the use of filters, filters that can distort one's appearance and surroundings, making one wonder what is real and authentic. This essay will analyze two different apps intended for social media that use the popular automated editing tools; Augmented Reality(AR)- and Artificial Intelligence (AI), to find how easily accessible they are and whether the results seem authentic. Through a semiotic approach, I begin the analysis by visually examining the AR and AI filter in the apps to see how they are represented and then what effect it has when applying it on a selected portrait. My findings will contribute to gaining more understanding within the subject of image manipulation and filter, as well as helping me and other graphic designers to increase awareness around consequences when using tools that alter reality.

Navigating authenticity in the age of the internet a phenomenological exploration of the existential effects of social media

Zimmerman, Douglas 01 December 2012 (has links)
Our world is a world of technology, and technology is part of what has made human beings so adept at survival. Yet, the 21st century has seen a new type of technology that is unlike anything ever seen before. This new information technology is known as social media (including such things as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc.), and it has the power to influence our very being. However, we are seemingly uncritical and unconcerned about social media in relation to society. This project attempts to analyze social media and its relationship to human beings from an ontological standpoint. I do so by exploring both the ontic and the ontological aspects of social media. In order to do so, I use a method of hermeneutical inquiry and phenomenological exploration. By using the works of several different thinkers, I attempt to get at the essence of the relationship between humans and social media. First, using the works of Martin Heidegger, I argue that there is an ethical dimension contained within the concept of authenticity. Then, using the works of psychologists, phenomenologists, and cognitive scientists, I show that social media has just as much control over us as we think we have over it. Lastly, I return to Heidegger's work in order to understand what the very essence of social media is, and I then explain what our relationship to social media ought to be in order to live authentically. In doing so, I attempt to explain how we can gain a free relation to social media in order to establish the ways in which it can be most helpful to us.

Analyzing Children's Literature Awards, Literary Criteria, and District Demographics to Create a Diverse and Inclusive Elementary School Classroom Library

Lavallee, Casey L 01 January 2018 (has links)
Future elementary school teachers are tasked with the responsibility to ensure that the children in their classrooms have access to high quality books every day. This can be accomplished by building classroom libraries with titles that are not only of high literary quality but are also inclusive of the students in the classroom as well as the people these children will encounter outside of the classroom. Children should be able to see themselves represented in the literature they read, and they should also be able to develop empathy for people who are different than they are. Diverse literature can have a huge impact on children and their outlook on themselves and the world. Because of the importance of quality diverse books for young children, this thesis outlines the resources, such as the plethora of children's literature awards for diverse books, that are available to teachers. It also includes a checklist for teachers to follow as they build their classroom libraries. This checklist helps teachers ensure that the books they choose meet the needs of the diverse population in their class. Once teachers know the resources available to them, they have a checklist that they can follow to build or evaluate their library, and they are aware of the diverse populations represented in their districts, schools, and classes, they are able to create an inclusive and impactful collection of books for their students.
