Cez chodník prebehuje ježko. / A hedgehog runs through the sidewalk.

Reisová, Kristína Unknown Date (has links)
Hedgehog runs across the sidewalk is a collection of texts about the everyday beauty of the world, about slowness and concentration. These are stories seen, perceived, heard by me. Stories where I stopped or they stopped me. About how the sun and the plant create a shadow, how storks fly in a circle over us, how a badger runs in the dark, how a pine cone falls from a tree, how cats sit in the dark, how they caress a plant over leaves, how a night butterfly sits in the corner of the room the dog watches something in the grass, as a rainbow spot lies on the road, as they find that it rains the least of the trees under the pine tree around, as a cloud of steam hovers over the forest, as tamarinds close their leaves at night, ... I write these texts and transfer them to handmade paper, which I made from collected papers and plants. I pin them story after story with a pin. They then meet together on a round table, where people can meet them and experience them with their eyes and touch.

Hannah Arendt: The Philosopher in History

Cruz, Richard A. (Richard Alan) 12 1900 (has links)
This paper explores the major historical interpretations of Hannah Arendt and analyzes her philosophy of history. Chapter One includes an introduction and a brief survey of the life of Hannah Arendt. Chapters Two and Three examine The Origins of Totalitarianism. The discussion concludes that Arendt's loose use of terms and some of her evidence can be called into question. Nevertheless, her work contains original insights about modern European political history. Chapter Four, a discussion of Arendt's Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil, emphasizes her portrait of Adolph Eichmann as a shallow, Nazi bureaucrat. Although the work is flawed with inaccuracies, her portrait of Eichmann as a prototypical bureaucratic killer is thought provoking. Chapter Five, an analysis of Arendt's philosophy of history, concludes that Arendt understood the pitfalls of theories of historical causality.

After Germany's defeat in World War II, Eichmann escapes and lives in Argentina with a new identity. In 1960, the Israeli secret service captures him and takes him to trial in the District Court of Jerusalem. He was charged with fifteen crimes, including crimes against humanity, crimes against Jewish people and for being a membership of a criminal organization. Throughout his trial, he was analyzed by Hannah Arendt the renowned philosopher whom exposes a number of reflections on the case and on the subject Eichmann. In addition, Arendt discusses the legality of Eichmann s capture and the moral issues that arise throughout the trial, as well as his personal and legal responsibility in the crimes of which he was accused / Este trabalho tem o objetivo de analisar as posições de Hannah Arendt (1906-1975) sobre o julgamento de Otto Adolf Eichmann (1906-1962). Heroismus a banalita v díle Ladislava Klímy / The I against the world. Heroism and banality in the works of Ladislav Klíma

Klíma, Matěj January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the relationship between the subject and reality in the work of Ladislav Klíma. Klíma depicts reality as something distressing against which the I struggles. In his work he poses reality as a problem. Literary characters as well as numerous author autostylizations often get into conflict with reality and attempt to solve it by absurd behaviour, banalization of reality and heroization of the individuum. Creativity gains special importance in this situation, as it provides subject with a refuge from the external world. In the act of writing the I constitutes itself as rebelling against the "principle of reality". Inspirations for theoretical approach to the topic can be found in Freudian psychoanalysis, Nietzsche's concept of heroic man, as well as Heidegger's existential phenomenology.
