The purpose of this thesis was to investigate on what perspective or perspectives university teachers and librarians at a medium-sized university in Sweden base their view on information literacy. More specifically, how do the respondents view their own information literacy and what opinions they have of their students’ information literacy as professionals. Three perspectives are used to interpret the results, the sociocultural perspective, the phenomenographical perspective and the behavioristic perspective.The method used is semi structured interviews with three university teachers and three librarians.Both librarians and teachers emphasize the importance of information literacy, for themselves as well as for students. The information literacy of the librarians involves being well acquainted with the subjects of the students. The teachers mention their ability to guide students in their search for sources and literature.Librarians consider the information literacy of students pretty poor or very poor, and one respondent says that more experienced students often have greater knowledge. The teachers agree that there are differences between more and less experienced students, but both positive and negative exceptions occur. Both librarians and teachers consider information literacy among students as important, because it is important to find relevant information to essays and papers. The three perspectives are connected or not connected to answers that the three librarians and the three teachers reply in interviews. Vårt syfte var att lyfta fram olika lärares tankar kring hur och varför de arbetar med läxan som undervisningsform, samt hur läxor påverkar elevernas lärande utifrån det sociokulturella och det behavioristiska perspektivet. I arbetet med att samla in och analysera empirin följde vi den kvalitativa forskningsmetoden. Kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med fyra matematiklärare i årskurs 6 på olika skolor och resultatet från dem analyserades utifrån våra problemställningar och en koppling gjordes till våra valda teorier. I likhet med annan samhällsvetenskaplig forskning redovisades resultatet i samband med en analys. Arbetet ger läsaren en inblick i hur lärarna tänker kring läxan som ett verktyg för elevernas lärande. Det framkommer även hur lärarna sätter läxan i relation till arbetet före utdelningen av matematikläxan samt hur uppföljningen sker i samband med den. Ur tidigare forskning kring läxor och från den insamlade empirin lyfts det fram att eleverna arbetar på egen hand och utvecklar därmed inte en färdighetsträning i interaktion med andra elever eller lärare. Resultatet visar att lärarna tror att läxan ger eleverna en ökad kunskap, färdighetsträning samt repetition. I analysen syns det således att läxan används ur ett behavioristiskt synsätt. Vi såg i läxforskningen och i elevers läxor att det sociokulturella perspektivet inte är vanligt förekommande, i och med det har vi valt att lyfta fram det i vår undersökning.
