Action Research of character education course on ethics of care

Ou, Tian-Tzu 29 January 2011 (has links)
The main purpose of the study is to design the Character Education Course through action research methodology, which is composed of four ethic education methods such as Modeling, Conversation, Exercise and Affirmation advocated by Ethics of Care from three core value ¡§Concern¡¨, ¡§Respect¡¨ and ¡§Responsibility¡¨ deficient in practice research class. One class is carried out in each week and three classes are carried out for a core value curriculum. There are nine classes for three core concepts. Class No.10 is reviewed in the final stage. The concrete goal for this research is stated as follows. 1. Discussion the effect of the Character Education Course based on Ethics of Care on the student¡¦s ethic behavior change. 2. Discussion the effect of the Character Education Course on the interaction between teacher and student. 3. Discussion the effect of the Character Education Course on the feasibility in practice. Several conclusions derived from this research are as follows. 1. Student¡¦s ethic behavior i. It¡¦s helpful to build the harmony atmosphere is class through the Character Education Course in Ethics of Care. Also the relationship between classmates is partly improved. ii. It¡¦s different for each student¡¦s ethic behavior change. But the positive restraint force is formed between the same generation. 2. Interaction between teacher and student i. Teacher is key person to affect student¡¦s behavior. Modeling may be imitated by student naturally. ii. Teacher like to dialogue with student such that student wish to develop character naturally. iii. Give the practice chances to students by modifying taking care of every single thing personally. It is expected to be helpful to the interaction between teacher and student. iv. Teacher must learn to think over positively in student¡¦s viewpoint to confirm the growing trajectory of student. 3. Feasibility in practice i. Students affirm the Character Education Course in Ethics of Care. ii. It¡¦s still necessary to continually track record the change of student¡¦s ethic behavior.

The Effect of The Financial Holding Company¡¦s Value for Their Issuing European Convertible Bond

Wang, Hui-Wen 28 June 2004 (has links)
Abstract Though there were many international paper on the European Convertible Bond¡]ECB¡^. Most of them focus on the electronic industry. Financial industry was excluded. A financial holding company made the good use of international source by issuing ECB overseas under the pressure of achieving internationalizes. The purpose of this study is to explore the distinctions of the financial holding companies who have announced issuing European Convertible Bond¡]ECB¡^during 2002 to 2003. To identify the financial character and evaluate the influence on the companies¡¦share price followed by the issuance of ECB from the statistic viewpoint of financial analysis and the dynamic viewpoint of the impacts on the company¡¦s value. There are two parts of the thesis. The first part is about the effect of the financial holding company¡¦s value for their issuing ECB by using the event study. Using probit and logic regression analysis to examine the effect of various financial factors in decision-making process of issuing ECB abroad did the second part. The financial character of financial holding companies with ECB issuance have significant differences in compared to those who have not yet issued ECB. Conclusion: 1.With¡¨Event study¡¨the results shown that there is no significant effect in the short term but cumulative average abnormal return is negative in the long term on the announcement data in exiting shareholders stake of issuing ECB. 2.At 5% significance level¡Aempirical results shown that listed financial holding companies with ECB issuance have significant differences in debt ratio, EPS and firm size compared to the companies who have not yet issued ECB.

Korkmaz, Aysegul 01 June 2009 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis analyses the women characters in four novels, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, Shirley, The Mill on the Floss and Sons and Lovers. The first chapter gives information on the historical background of the Victorian period and early 20th century in England in which the novels were written, on the biography of the authors of the novels and clarifies the aim and methodology of the study. The following chapters analyse the women charaters - Helen Huntingdon, Shirley Keeldar, Maggie Tulliver and Clara Dawes - selected for study according to how far they went against social norms, perceptions about women and society&#039 / s morals, and provide a general evaluation of each character. The conclusion presents a comparison of the four women characters&#039 / attitudes, and asserts that each of them display a controversial attitude in at least one of these areas, considering the period in which the novels were written.

Continuity And Change Of The Urban Character Of Sinop

Can Cetin, Burcu 01 December 2011 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis attemps to examine the continuity and change in the physical character of Anatolian city which have crucial impacts on conservation of cultural values of town. From the mid-nineteenth century to the present time / decline of Ottoman Empire, establishment of Turkish Republic with new regime, wars in National Struggle, natural disasters, the policies of both central and local authorities, new regulations for urban planning and conservation are the reasons determined as major causes for the continuity and the change of historic urban character of towns. Sinop, which was one of Ottoman port city having commercial and military function, is representative of the towns in which the big changes are observed. Therefore, in this thesis Sinop is chosen as a case study. It is aimed to see the reasons and results of continuity and change in its physical character, how they take place in city and the values which heve been lost are analyzed.

Mechanical properties of ultrafine grained aluminum

Yu, Chung-Yi 05 July 2003 (has links)
It has been shown that alloys with submicron-grained structure can be produced by severe plastic deformation (SPD). However, our understanding about the characteristics of mechanical behaviors of these materials is still limited. According to the literature, many alloys exhibit quite different mechanical properties as the grain size decreasing to submicrometer range. In this study, commercial purity aluminum (AA1050) of grain size ranging from 0.35 to ~ 45 mm was obtained by the proper combination of equal-channel angular extrusion (ECAE) and annealing treatment. The influences of grain size, testing temperature and boundary character on the mechanical properties were studied in this work. Generally speaking, the materials of grain sizes below 1mm have quite different mechanical properties than those of coarser grain sizes. In tensile tests, they exhibited yield drop immediately followed by work softening at RT, while they showed Lüders extension followed by work hardening at 77K. In addition, their yield strength at RT was about 20% higher in compression than in tension. The submicron-grained aluminum has much higher strength but lower tensile ductility than large grained aluminum at room temperature, while it exhibits both high strength and good ductility at 77K. This finding suggests that the poor tensile ductility of submicron-grained alloys at room temperature may be improved by reducing the dynamic recovery rate. The Hall-Petch slope in the submicrometer grain size range showed positive deviation from that extended from coarser grains at both room temperature and 77K. This might be arisen from the phenomenon of inhomogeneous yielding as grain size below 1 mm. In addition, the grain boundary character distribution was found to have influence on the tensile properties of matrials of submicrometer grain sizes. As the grain size increases to the range between 1 mm and 4 mm, the tensile deformation at RT proceeds by the propagation of Lüders band initially, and followed by strain hardening. For materials of grain sizes greater than 4 mm, a normal strain hardening behavior of coarse-grained aluminum resumes.

Rigging a horse and rider: simulating the predictable and repetitive movement of the rider

Kuhnel, Jennifer Lynn 30 September 2004 (has links)
It is nice to give animators artistic freedom, but having to animate every bounce, sway, and counter-balancing movement of a rider on a horse isn't freedom at all. It is painstaking labor that could easily be prevented with an effective character setup. If an animation piece is only going to have a few shots with a horse and rider, then the trouble of setting up an automated character rig is not practical, but if there are a significant amount of shots with a horse and rider galloping across the prairie, doing death defying stunts, and walking for an extended time into the sunset then there needs to be a way to automate the reactions of the rider to the horse. This thesis focuses on what parts of a horse one can analyze to know at what point a rider will lean forward, bounce up from the saddle, or in any way react to a variety of different horse movements. The automated character setup, or rig, makes animating a rider on a horse much more efficient.

Sociala omsorgsassistenter : de "nya" omsorgsgivarna i en omsorgsförvaltnings "paradigmskifte"

Damberg, Magdalena January 2005 (has links)

Purpose: The primary aim of the study was to analyse and discuss how employees with a secondary nursing education describe their occupational character whilst working as well as the conditions for caring acts in a changing progress towards professionalism.

Questions: What are the conditions to provide a high standard of care in this changing progress? What influence does it have on the occupational character ?

Method: Critical case study and focus groups

Conclusion: One of the central findings of the field study was the identification of two occupational identities; traditional and pedagogical orientated. These two occupational character traits are connected with different types of occupational competence and demands different theoretical knowledge. They also have different regards concerning the new title; social omsorgsassistent. A conclusion of the study is that a professional project of a non-specific nature is unable to stress the different levels of knowledge and competence that occupational identities have when one seeking professionalism.
