Ikimokyklinio ugdymo pedagogų pedagoginio pašaukimo analizė / Pedagogical mission of pre – school education pedagogues

Gaučienė, Jolanta 14 January 2009 (has links)
Kauno miesto lopšelių - darželių ,,Girinukas“, ,,Rasytė“, ,,Vėrinėlis“, ,,Giliukas“ pedagogų bei Kauno kolegijos I ir II kurso ikimokyklinio ugdymo specialybės studentų pedagoginis pašaukimas. / Kaunas kindergartens ,,Girinukas“, ,,Rasyte“, ,,Verinelis“, ,,Giliukas“ educators and Kaunas colegue I and II cursus pre - school education students pedagogical mission. Analysis of literature; Triangulation (the test orientasion type of perssonality of J. Holland, questionnair, the article ,,My pedagogical autobiography (vision)“ content analysis; The analysis of data with PC statistical analyses software PAULA (B. Bitinas 1998); Comparison. Teacher’s profession is from the earliest times related to the mission. Every of authors them describes the mission, and in relation to the pedagogue’s profession – the pedagogical mission – differently. The research was carried out by analysing all structural components of pedagogical mission: motivation, potency, nature. The research hypothesis was confirmed. Distinctness of structural components of pedagogical mission depends if this pre - school educators now or this student of pre - school educators.

A Study Of Texas Youth Livestock Exhibitors Knowledge Within The Constructs Of The Quality Counts Assessment

Ragland, J. Derrick 16 December 2013 (has links)
A Study Of Texas Youth Livestock Exhibitors Knowledge Within The Constructs Of The Quality Counts Assessment. (August 2013) J. D. Ragland, B.S., M. S. Chairman of Advisory Committee: Dr. Steve Fraze. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of the current Quality Counts program and assessment. This on-line training and assessment is a required program of completion for all youth exhibiting livestock at all major livestock shows in Texas. The studies additional purposes was to evaluate assessment results of participants within their respected age groups and club affiliation, and to identify their relationships of the four program objectives as well as the three research objectives outlined for this study to determine where curriculum improvements maybe needed. It was concluded that the Quality Counts program needs revision to be a more effective tool for youth exhibiting livestock.

Exploring the Relationship between Stories from the Land and Character Development

DAVIS, JENNIFER ELISABETH 19 December 2011 (has links)
Abstract This research explores the relationship between stories from the land and character education, and examines how the land forms the characters of those who live with Her. Twenty-seven participants were chosen through the snowball, or chain sampling, method from three groups of people living roughly within the boundaries of Hastings County, Ontario. Three groups of people were included: those living on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory; generational farmers, whose families had settled in this area; and relative newcomers who have come to the area as recently as twenty years ago and self-identified as coming here in order to be closer to the land. Ages varied, with the youngest participant being 30 years old and the eldest being 94. Each participant was asked to share a story from his or her experience of living with the land in this area. During personal visits, stories were conveyed through conversations between the participant and the researcher, and recorded using both audio and video equipment. After transcription, the stories were coded for evidence of character development and reflected upon using three lenses: Noddings (2003) circles of caring; Haig-Brown’s (2010) ways through which the land teaches us; and the traditional Ojibway story of the Seven Grandfather Teachings. This reflection process was guided by the notion of close reading of the transcripts, close listening to audio recordings for voice inflection and laughter, and close watching of video recordings for body language. Findings from the research revealed rich connections between the stories and the three lenses used. Every aspect of character development was evidenced in one or more stories. The stories affirmed that, as the elders have traditionally taught, the land moulds people. Those who live in the same area develop character in similar ways. There was no substantial difference shown between the character traits evident in the stories given by Mohawk people and those from the other two groups. Character traits identified were reflective of the skills necessarily developed to live and work on this land. Implications for the development of character education curriculum emerged from the consideration of the use of locally based stories within classrooms. / Thesis (Ph.D, Education) -- Queen's University, 2011-12-17 11:03:25.805

Adaptive optical music recognition

Fujinaga, Ichiro. January 1996 (has links)
The basic goal of the Adaptive Optical Music Recognition system presented herein is to create an adaptive software for the recognition of musical notation. The focus of this research has been to create a robust framework upon which a practical optical music recognizer can be built. / The strength of this system is its ability to learn new music symbols and handwritten notations. It also continually improves its accuracy in recognizing these objects by adjusting internal parameters. Given the wide range of music notation styles, these are essential characteristics of a music recognizer. / The implementation of the adaptive system is based on exemplar-based incremental learning, analogous to the idea of "learning by example," that identifies unknown objects by their similarity to one or more of the known stored examples. The entire process is based on two simple, yet powerful algorithms: k-nearest neighbour classifier and genetic algorithm. Using these algorithms, the system is designed to increase its accuracy over time as more data are processed.
