Srovnání právní úpravy konvenčního a ekologického zemědělství / A comparison of the legal regulation of conventional and organic farming

Marko, Jan January 2016 (has links)
Resume Agriculture has intensified greatly in the last century and heavy machinery and chemical substances are being used, which causes negative impact on environment. On the other hand, organic farming tries to use natural resources with utmost care and rejects synthetic substances. The main goal of the thesis is to find and describe the most important differences of the legal regulation of conventional and organic farming. International regulation, regulation of European Union and Czech regulation are the main focus of the thesis. The first chapter tries to characterize conventional agriculture and describe its functions, briefly goes through its development and current status. Chapter deals with causes, subject and purpose of legal regulation and analyzes sources of law in the international law, European law with main focus on Common Agricultural Policy and Czech law. The second chapter is concieved similarly as the first one, but from the view of organic farming. It characterizes organic farming, describes its development and legal regulation on the international, European and Czech level. The third chapter takes a closer look on chosen institutes and sections of Czech legislation and tries to show the most important differences of conventional and organic farming. Chapter deals with agribusiness and...

On Longing and Belonging: the promise of queer community in Berlin. : A qualitative study of queer loneliness and community building in Berlin

Grimmer, Carolin January 2020 (has links)
Many queers are drawn to ‘the city’, as an (imagined) more progressive, and queered space. Its urbanity may offer anonymity as well as community. A major city means both the presence of diversity, of other queers, as well as possibly a queered understanding of ‘the city’ itself, with rich queer histories and cultures ingrained into the public and private realm. But then again, the realities within the city of Berlin is often a different one. Finding community that works, a multitude of exclusions plus the need for safer spaces make it harder to connect and are part of the experience of queer community. I try to understand the queerness within the feeling of yearning, of trying to find a place where one belongs and connect it with the feelings of disappointment and loneliness. I conducted interviews following a semi-guided structure. In their analysis, I hope to understand how urban queer loneliness is experienced and understood.

Secure Quantum Encryption

St-Jules, Michael January 2016 (has links)
To the field of cryptography, quantum mechanics is a game changer. The exploitation of quantum mechanical properties through the manipulation of quantum information, the information encoded in the state of quantum systems, would allow many protocols in use today to be broken as well as lead to the expansion of cryptography to new protocols. In this thesis, quantum encryption, i.e. encryption schemes for quantum data, is defined, along with several definitions of security, broadly divisible into semantic security and ciphertext indistinguishability, which are proven equivalent, in analogy to the foundational result by Goldwasser and Micali. Private- and public-key quantum encryption schemes are also constructed from quantum-secure cryptographic primitives, and their security is proven. Most of the results are in the joint paper Computational Security of Quantum Encryption, to appear in the 9th International Conference on Information Theoretic Security (ICITS2016).

Intergroup contact beyond borders and trauma : A case study of the Jerusalem Youth Chorus

Merguerian, Alexandra January 2023 (has links)
This thesis contributes to the literature on intergroup contact by exploring the long-term impact of grassroots efforts on members of majority and minority groups involved in an intractable conflict. In such circumstances, the conflict parties’ existential survival is perceived to be at stake, which results in salient group boundaries magnified by competing memories of collective trauma. Drawing empirical support from the Jerusalem Youth Chorus—an Israeli-Palestinian encounter program based in Jerusalem—this paper examines opportunities to desecuritize intergroup relationships from the bottom-up. To this purpose, it scrutinizes Gordon Allport’s Contact Hypothesis and narratives of historical trauma. The findings from 16 semi-structured interviews conducted with alumni participants provide unique insights into the impact of a hybrid approach to contact, with music and dialogue providing fertile ground for sustainably rethinking us-them relations toward greater boundary permeability. They also highlight the scope and the limits of conducting bottom-up “memory work” in a societal context of severe asymmetry. Group-specific results are highlighted.

Pasirinkto fizinių pratimų komplekso veiksmingumas / Efficiency of individually chosen physical exercise complex

Medonis, Aurimas 16 August 2007 (has links)
Be to pratimų kompleksą rekomenduota atlikti ir laisvalaikiu bent vieną kartą per savaitę. [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Aurimas Medonis Efficiency of individually chosen physical exercise complex Summary The purpose of the research is to evaluate individually chosen physical exercise complex method’s efficiency of the 10th grade schoolboys. Fifty-nine schoolboys, who belong to the main medical physical ability group and attend Vilniaus Žirmūnų gymnasium and Vilniaus Šv.Kristoforo secondary school, took part in the pedagogical experiment. The experiment was organized during the school year 2006, from January 9th to May 22d. Schoolboys were distributed into three experimental (E1  2a, 10c, 10d ─ 24 schoolboys) and four control (E2 ─ 2d, 2c, 10b, 10e ─ 35 schoolboys) classes. The experimental program was applied to group E1, while group E2 had the same physical education lessons as earlier. Independent variable ─ method of improving physical features was designed in order to increase individually chosen physical exercise complex. Research methods used in the Master‘s thesis are the following: analysis of literature, questionnaire, physical features testing and statistical analysis. Questionnaire investigated 10th grade schoolboys’ attitude towards sport, healthy life style as well as independent work out. Eurofit’s (2002) and J.Skernevičius’ (2004) physical tests as well as physical education standards were used in order to identify physical features of the pupils. Investigation results were evaluated with „Statistica“ and MS „Excel“ computer programmes. Results of the questionnaire show... [to full text]
