Sustainability and consumers green purchasing priorities in fashion : What the industry’s impact on the environment means for the consumers’ priorities when purchasing new apparel.

Augustsson, Amanda, Granberg, Jennie January 2022 (has links)
In this era of environmental upheaval, this study sought clarity on the matter of green purchasing behavior. How the fashion industry’s specific impact on the environment has affected consumers' attitude towards companies and their collections. It was identified that customers have been requesting sustainable products from their retailers more and more and yet, a conscious willingness to help on the part of the consumer did not necessarily equate to purchasing more sustainable products.  The empirical part of the study was based on a quantitative research approach. The findings and data collection were obtained through an online questionnaire, generating responses from 40 individuals. Deductive reasoning was selected in this thesis as a scientific approach. The research has been done from the consumer's perspective. Furthermore, the collected data that created the hypothesis was analyzed and gathered from existing theories.  The conclusion of this research demonstrated that consumers did possess a willingness to be more conscious of their own climate change footprint by adapting green purchasing intentions such as buying less new clothes at present than 5 years ago. The findings indicated that consumer awareness did not necessarily result in a change in their green buying behavior. Finally, it was found that an unchanged position in consumers' green buying behavior would have been due to a lack of sustainable fashion alternatives readily available. The authors believe that further research is needed to shed light on the divide between consumers' attitude and actual purchasing behavior.

Fabrication and Characterization of a Disk Ring Shaped Dual Nanometer-Sized Electrode and Its Application to Generation-Collection.

Nimley, Christopher 07 May 2011 (has links) (PDF)
This research reports on the fabrication and characterization of integrated dual nanometer-sized electrodes. The electrodes are made of closely spaced nanometer-sized platinum and gold achieved by inserting and pulling platinum wire in cylindrical glass pipette plated with gold. Cyclic voltammetry has been used to characterize the electrodes. Our results show that both electrodes can work individually and can accomplish generation/collection experiments. Factors that may affect the performance of the electrodes as well as formation mechanism of the gold film by electroless plating are discussed.

Program Evaluation Intensive: Practical Training in Selecting Measures and Data Collection Methods to Obtain Useful Outcome Data

Shepherdson, Robyn, Funderburk, Jennifer, Sunderji, Nadiya, Sunderji, Nadiya, Polaha, Jodi 01 October 2019 (has links) (PDF)
Do you need help determining appropriate measures and feasible data collection methods for program evaluations within integrated primary care? In this 3-hour preconference workshop, leaders from CFHA’s Research & Evaluation Committee and Families, Systems, & Health journal will provide practical training in conducting rigorous program evaluations. This workshop will help you identify appropriate measures to answer your key questions as well as data collection methods that balance quality and feasibility. This workshop is designed for those who are planning, conducting, or revising a program evaluation, as attendees will apply the material to their own personal projects within interactive small groups.

Bibliotek i Umeå stads medieplanering kring tv-spel

Beckeman, Daniel January 2023 (has links)
This paper aims to examine the various practices employed by libraries in the city ofUmeå in regards to the collection development of their video game selection. In addition to directly examining this process, it will also seek to develop anunderstanding of how different factors impact it, such as technical aspects, ageratings, genres, and game platforms. The study was conducted using both aqualitative and quantitative method, using interviews to gather insights fromlibrarians and a variety of statistical sources to build an image of the contents of thelibrary. The results indicated that the collection development endeavors were bothless frequent and needed compared to the book collections, in great part due to thelimited size of the selection. It was also found that the collections that did exist weregreatly influenced by the library patrons that engaged with them, with the cataloguemostly mirroring the demand in proportion, with the outlier of Nintendo Switchgames. Finally, a potential issue regarding the future of video game acquisition wasraised due to the evolving digital market potentially rendering library servicesobsolete or too expensive. In conclusion, this study found that unless the videogame market drastically shifts course from its digitalization the services librariesprovide in regards to this medium has to adapt to stay relevant to public interests
