Igreja Luterana da Suécia / A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo apresentar a práxis diaconal como ação cristã de assistência, cuidado e transformação de uma realidade que estigmatiza as pessoas vivendo com HIV/Aids. Para isso, foi realizada uma análise do trabalho desenvolvido pelos Freis Capuchinhos na Casa Fonte Colombo (Centro de Promoção da Pessoa Soropositiva HIV), na cidade de Porto Alegre RS. Esse trabalho é analisado a partir de cinco pilares específicos: Prevenção, acolhida, reestruturação dos laços familiares, reinserção social e incidência política. A pesquisa tem o intuito de identificar, no serviço prestado pela CFC, a diaconia em suas dimensões: profética, libertadora e política, devidamente embasada em fundamentações bíblicas e teológicas. O conceito de libertação é apresentado como oposição à situação de vulnerabilidade imposta pelo sistema opressor, baseado em uma teologia que prioriza a assistência às pessoas estigmatizadas e socialmente excluídas. A práxis diaconal é apresentada como oposição às teologias que se baseiam em leituras conservadoras e fundamentalistas de textos bíblicos, estigmatizando e culpabilizando as pessoas vivendo com HIV/Aids. As ações descritas nessa pesquisa apontam para a solidariedade como resposta concreta ao amor de Deus pela humanidade, ações proféticas, reconciliadoras, libertadoras e, consequentemente, diaconais. / The objective of the present study was to describe the diaconal practice as a Christian activity of care and transformation of a reality that stigmatizes people living with the HIV/AIDS. With that purpose, we analyzed the work developed by the Capuchin Friars at Casa Fonte Colombo (Centre for the Support of HIV Soropositive People) in the city of Porto Alegre, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. This work is analyzed based on five specific pillars: prevention, welcome, restructuring of family ties, social reintegration, and advocacy. Based on the services provided by Casa Fonte Colombo, the present study was aimed at describing the diakonia considering its different dimensions: prophetic, liberating and political, properly grounded on biblical and theological foundations. The concept of liberation is presented as opposed to the situation of vulnerability imposed by an oppressive system and it is based on a theology focused on the support of stigmatized and socially excluded people. The diaconal practice is presented as opposed to the theologies based on conservative and fundamentalist interpretations of biblical texts, blaming and stigmatizing people living with the HIV/AIDS. The actions described in the present study suggest that solidarity is a concrete response to God's love for humanity; these are prophetic, reconciling, liberating, and thus diaconal actions.

Previous issue date: 2015-11-11 / The present study was determined in order to weave the plot of the host institutions for underprivileged children that performed not only a care work, but also an educational one, supported by didactic-pedagogical processes developed in the country in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. We had as main focus of our analysis the Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo, located in São Paulo city, where students received an instruction according to current standards of the public instructions and based on the principles of the Roman Catholic religion, in addition to the instruction required for the practical life, in the case of girls, and professionalization, in the case of boys. The problem that instigated us was unveil if the didactic-pedagogical practices and processes experienced at the Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo corresponded to culture and to the then-current education or if they had specificities meeting self-interests of the institution. We started from several hypotheses, among them finding out if the educational process adopted by the Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo was a reflection of a society panorama towards excluded children at that time, or even if it countersigned the current educational values, enabling the underprivileged children to be inserted in the society. For the analysis, we delimited the year 1895, date of Orphanage foundation, and we finalized in the year 1953, when the orphanage was renamed Instituto Cristóvão Colombo, outsourcing the vocational education. To find answers to our questions, we conducted a literature search, in order to rescue some historical gaps on the foundation of the Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo and on the pastoral and assistance project prepared by Don João Batista Scalabrini. The search for data, information and photographs, which helped us to elucidate the theme, led us to carry out an exploratory research in the Archive of the Instituto Cristóvão Colombo, in the Archive of the Cúria Metropolitana de São Paulo, among others. The Thematic Oral History has also employed as a methodological resource, carrying out interviews with former students of the Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo, another methodological resource was the historical and dialectical approach. The importance of the study of Educational Institutions is justified not only by preserving the memory, but also by understanding the education history as a whole. We concluded that the primary education followed the parameters of the São Paulo public school, adopting both the didactic-pedagogic method, and the materials such as books and booklets for both male and female sections. As regards the vocational education, we realized that for the boys it were willing more elaborated workshops such as blacksmithing, carpentry, locksmiths and typography. For girls there wasn´t this investment. We noted only the presence of some sewing machines to turn the space into a place of skilled labor, short of a vocational school structure. We hope that this work will contribute to the preservation of the History of the Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo and the History of Educational Institutions. / El presente estudio fue definido objetivando a tejer la trama de las instituciones de acogida a los niños desvalidos que realizaban un trabajo no apenas asistencial, pero también educativo apoyado en procesos didáctico-pedagógicos desarrollados en el país al final del siglo XIX e inicio del XX. Tuvimos como foco principal de nuestro análisis el Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo, localizado en la ciudad de São Paulo, donde los alumnos recibían una instrucción de acuerdo con las normas vigentes de la instrucción pública y basada en los principios de la religión Católica Apostólica Romana, además de la instrucción necesaria a la vida práctica, en el caso de las niñas, y de la profesionalización, en el caso de los niños. El problema que nos incitó fue desvendar si las prácticas y procesos didáctico-pedagógicos vividos en el Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo correspondían a la cultura y a la educación vigente en la época o poseían especificidades atendiendo a intereses propios de la institución. Partimos de diferentes hipótesis, entre ellas descubrir si el proceso educacional adoptado por el Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo era reflejo de un panorama de la sociedad con relación a los niños excluidos en la época o si el mismo legalizaba los valores educacionales vigentes, posibilitando a los niños desvalidos una inserción en la sociedad. Para el análisis, delimitamos el año de 1895, fundación del Orfanato, y finalizamos en el año de 1953, data en la que pasó a ser denominado Instituto Cristóvão Colombo, pasando a subcontratar la enseñanza profesional. Para que encontremos respuestas para nuestros cuestionamientos, realizamos una pesquisa bibliográfica objetivando rescatar algunos hiatos históricos sobre la fundación del Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo y sobre el proyecto pastoral y asistencial elaborado por Don João Batista Scalabrini. La busca por datos, informaciones y fotografías que nos ayudasen a dilucidar lo tema nos llevaron a realizar una investigación exploratoria en el Archivo del Instituto Cristóvão Colombo, en el Archivo de la Curia Metropolitana de São Paulo, entre otros. La Historia Oral Temática fue creada como recurso metodológico, habiendo sido realizadas entrevistas con ex alumnos del Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo, otro recurso metodológico fue el abordaje histórico-dialéctico. La importancia del estudio de las Instituciones Educacionales se justifica no apenas por el preservación de la memoria, pero también para comprender la historia de la educación como un todo. Se concluyó que la educación primaria siguió los parámetros de la escuela pública paulista, adoptando tanto el método didáctico-pedagógico, cuanto los materiales como libros y cartillas para ambas las secciones femenina y masculina. Com relación a la educación profesional, percibimos qué para los niños eran dispuestas oficinas más elaboradas como herrería, carpintería, ferretería, tipografía. Para las niñas no hubo esa inversión. Notamos apenas la presencia de algunas máquinas de coser para transformar el espacio en un local de trabajo especializado, mucho menos que el necesario para una estructura de escuela profesional. Esperamos que el presente trabajo venga a aportar con la preservación de la Historia del Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo y de la Historia de las Instituciones Educacionales. / O presente estudo foi definido visando a tecer a trama das instituições de acolhimento às crianças desvalidas que realizavam um trabalho não apenas assistencial, mas também educativo apoiado em processos didático-pedagógicos desenvolvidos no país no final do século XIX e início do XX. Tivemos como foco principal de nossa análise o Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo, localizado na cidade de São Paulo, onde os alunos recebiam uma instrução de acordo com as normas vigentes da instrução pública e embasada nos princípios da religião Católica Apostólica Romana, além da instrução necessária à vida prática, no caso das meninas, e da profissionalização, no caso dos meninos. O problema que nos instigou foi desvendar se as práticas e processos didático-pedagógicos vivenciados no Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo correspondiam à cultura e à educação vigente na época ou possuíam especificidades atendendo a interesses próprios da instituição. Para encontrarmos respostas para nossos questionamentos, realizamos uma pesquisa bibliográfica visando resgatar alguns hiatos históricos sobre a fundação do Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo e sobre o projeto pastoral e assistencial elaborado por Dom João Batista Scalabrini. A busca por dados, informações e fotografias que nos ajudassem a elucidar o tema nos levaram a realizar uma pesquisa exploratória no Arquivo do Instituto Cristóvão Colombo, no Arquivo da Cúria Metropolitana de São Paulo, entre outros. A História Oral Temática foi empregada como recurso metodológico, tendo sido realizadas entrevistas com ex-alunos do Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo, outro recurso metodológico foi a abordagem histórico-dialética. A importância do estudo das Instituições Educacionais justifica-se não apenas pela preservação da memória, mas também para compreender a história da educação como um todo. Concluiu-se que a educação primária seguiu os parâmetros da escola pública paulista, adotando tanto o método didático-pedagógico, quanto os materiais como livros e cartilhas para ambas as seções feminina e masculina. No tocante à educação profissionalizante, percebemos que para os meninos eram dispostas oficinas mais elaboradas como ferraria, carpintaria, serralheria, tipografia. Para as meninas não houve esse investimento. Notamos apenas a presença de algumas máquinas de costura para transformar o espaço em um local de trabalho especializado, aquém de uma estrutura de escola profissionalizante. Esperamos que o presente trabalho venha a contribuir com a preservação da História do Orfanato Cristóvão Colombo e da História das Instituições Educacionais.

Gouvernance et ressources minières : le cas de la filière Colombo-TantaliteMartineau, Patrick January 2008 (has links) (PDF)
Dans le cadre de cette étude, notre but était de répondre à la question suivante: « à qui profite la filière "coltan" (un combo de minerai), qui la dirige et quelles sont les conséquences pour les acteurs concernés, notamment ceux de la République démocratique du Congo? ». Notre hypothèse suggère que la compréhension de cette économie politique renvoie à des mécanismes de gouvernance au centre desquels les formes et les rapports de pouvoir se manifestent dans les domaines de la sécurité, de la production, de la finance et du savoir. Avec la perspective filière, nous avons proposé une analyse de tout un système généré par un minerai et déterminé toutes les étapes de sa chaîne de valeur. Cette méthode a permis de mettre en évidence le poids des relations hiérarchiques dans l'analyse commerciale d'une filière minière et la manière dont les acteurs influent sur les systèmes de production. Notre tableau révèle que les premiers circuits commerciaux sont plutôt étroits, que l'économie financière est très profitable et que les acteurs de l'économie de la production sont peu nombreux. L'entrée du « coltan » dans les circuits mondiaux profite à un nombre limité d'acteurs, surtout américains. Toutefois, nous avons observé que les États-Unis ont perdu en autorité au sein de la filière au bénéfice des acteurs asiatiques et ceux non étatiques. Le « coltan » profite aussi à des milliers de travailleurs congolais, mais leurs bénéfices restent le plus bas de la chaîne de valeur. À un niveau régional, le « coltan » congolais profite surtout à certains individus et réseaux commerciaux, militaires et politiques qui, dans leur déploiement, commettent parfois des crimes en violation directe des droits humains. La puissance matérielle et militaire des acteurs locaux et régionaux est au coeur des principes régulateurs de la filière congolaise et le « coltan », quant à lui, demeure un facteur de puissance susceptible d'animer d'autres conflits. Cet examen a par ailleurs révélé le pouvoir normatif des institutions intergouvernementales et celui mobilisateur de la société civile. Ainsi, pour essentiels qu'ils soient, on note que les États ne sont pas les seuls acteurs producteurs des normes politiques de la mondialisation. Afin d'éviter que du « coltan » congolais obtenu indûment ou commercialisé en violation des droits humains se retrouve dans la filière globale, les entreprises de la filière, tenues et supportées par les États et les institutions intergouvernementales, devraient notamment renforcer le « certificat d'origine »; créer un système de traçabilité et exiger de leurs partenaires commerciaux qu'ils adérent à des normes de conduite qui sous-tendent un engagement envers les droits humains, tels les Principes directeurs de l'OCDE ou les Normes des Nations Unies sur la responsabilité en matière de droits de l'Homme des sociétés transnationales et autres entreprises. ______________________________________________________________________________ MOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : Coltan, Tantalite, Filière, République démocratique du Congo (RDC), Mine.

Challenges of Municipal Solid Waste Management in Colombo, Sri LankaSubasinghe, Nirmal January 2024 (has links)
Municipal Solid Waste Management (MSWM) in Colombo, Sri Lanka, presents significant challenges due to rapid urbanization, population growth, and limited infrastructural capacities. This research aims to analyze the current MSWM practices in Colombo, identify the key challenges faced, benchmark these practices against international standards, and propose sustainable solutions for improvement. A mixed-methods approach was employed, integrating quantitative data from primary sources and qualitative insights from interviews with key stakeholders, including municipal officials, waste management professionals, and residents. Quantitative data analysis revealed that Colombo generates an average of 1200 tons of waste daily, primarily from residential sources (60%). The predominant waste disposal method is landfilling, which accounts for 75% of waste disposal, with significant challenges identified in infrastructure, funding, and public compliance. Qualitative data from municipal officials highlighted the importance of policies focused on waste segregation, mandatory recycling programs, and penalties for illegal dumping. However, enforcement of these policies remains problematic due to resource limitations and public resistance. The study identified several critical challenges in MSWM, including inadequate infrastructure, insufficient funding, and public apathy. Collaborative efforts between the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) and private sector stakeholders through initiatives like 'Zero Waste Colombo' have shown potential in addressing these challenges. Community engagement and educational programs have been implemented to promote waste reduction, recycling, and composting, but their success relies heavily on continuous support and participation from local organizations and residents. Future strategies for MSWM in Colombo include integrating advanced waste-to-energy technologies, expanding recycling facilities, and enhancing waste collection efficiency through smart technologies. Policy recommendations emphasize the need for stronger enforcement mechanisms, increased investment in waste management infrastructure, and continuous public education campaigns. This research contributes to the scholarly literature on urban sustainability and MSWM, providing actionable recommendations for policymakers, urban planners, and community stakeholders in Colombo. By addressing the identified challenges and leveraging the proposed solutions, Colombo can move towards a more sustainable and efficient waste management system.

L’étude des Tamouls à Colombo, Kuala Lumpur et Singapour montre l’intérêt d’adopter une perspective comparative et multiscalaire pour saisir dans toute leur complexité les différents facteurs agissant sur l’identification et l’intégration socio-spatiale d’un groupe minoritaire transnational. Ces Tamouls évoluent dans des contextes politiques nationaux très différents. À Sri Lanka, ils se retrouvent au cœur d’un conflit intercommunautaire. À Singapour, ils sont reconnus officiellement comme l’une des composantes de la société multiculturelle alors qu’en Malaise, l’État privilégie les Malais. L’analyse des politiques menées par la puissance coloniale, puis par les trois États indépendants à l’égard des minorités, permet de mieux comprendre leurs impacts sur le sentiment d’identification et d’intégration des Tamouls à la Nation, ainsi que sur leur répartition dans ces villes. À l’échelle locale, l’inscription spatiale de leur identité et les pratiques citadines des Tamouls favorisent une appropriation de leur environnement urbain. Toutefois, cette dernière n’est pas immuable. Les politiques urbaines développées par les États, qui selon les cas préservent ou détruisent les ethnoterritoires, ont des conséquences sur l’empreinte urbaine tamoule et leur pratique de la ville. Cette réalité n’est pas sans conséquences sur la façon dont les Tamouls perçoivent leur appartenance à la Nation. Enfin, les liens transnationaux (culturels, politiques, économiques) entre Tamouls et les dynamiques migratoires internationales contemporaines des Tamouls dans ces trois pays ont également des conséquences sur l’identification et l’intégration de ceux de Colombo, Kuala Lumpur et Singapour. / The study of Tamils in Colombo, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore shows the importance of adopting a multi-scale and comparative perspective in order to fully grasp an understanding of the complexity of the various factors affecting the identification and socio-spatial integration of a transnational minority group. These Tamils evolve in very different national political contexts. In Sri Lanka, they are at the heart of inter-communal conflicts. In Singapore, they are officially recognized as a component of a multicultural society, whilst in Malaysia the government officially favors Malays. The analysis of the policies enforced by the colonial power, followed by the three independent states toward minorities provides a better understanding of their impacts on the sense of identity and integration of Tamils in the Nation, as well as their geographical distribution in these cities. At the local level, the spatial inscription of tamil identity and their urban practices favor an appropriation of their urban environment. However, it is not immutable. Urban policies developed by states, which according to the cases preserve or destroy ethnoterritories, have an impact on the Tamil urban footprint and their practical of the city. This reality is not without consequence on how Tamils perceive their attachement to the nation. Finally, transnational ties (cultural, political, economical) between Tamils and contemporary dynamics of international migration of Tamils in these three countries also have consequences on the identification and integration of those from Colombo, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.

Para tanto, lançamo-nos ao desafio de analisar, dentro do subgênero romance histórico contemporâneo, mais especificamente, as obras El último crimen de Colón (2001), do argentino Marcelo Leonardo Levinas, e Colón a los ojos de Beatriz (2000), do espanhol Pedro Piqueras, obras que contemplam a figura de Cristóvão Colombo sob o discurso poético. A análise destas obras destaca procedimentos formais que constituem um discurso metaficcional: a paródia, a carnavalização, a intertextualidade, a heteroglossia, a hiper-correção de dados históricos, entre outros, que contribuem para a formação de novas imagens do descobridor da América. Num jogo de construção e desconstrução de imagens, estes romances questionam as verdades históricas, colocando em xeque inclusive suas fontes de referências, as quais são constantemente reescritas. Buscamos estabelecer, pois, as diferenças entre o discurso histórico assertivo e o discurso poético sob o qual estas obras e as imagens de Colombo nelas contidas foram gestadas. Revela-se, pelas relações transtextuais, uma poética da hipertextualidade referente ao tema do descobrimento da América. / Starting from the analysis of a series of Hispanic historical novels and working on the presumption that History and Literature have always been living under a friendly relationship and keeping an intensive dialogue, we intent to point out in this work some of the resources and proceedings which are inherent to the historiographic fiction. In order to do so we set up ourselves the challenge to analyze more specifically under the concepts of the contemporary historical novels, the books El último crimen de Colón (200l), by the Argentinean Marcelo Leonardo Levinas and Colón a los ojos de Beatriz (2000), by the Spanish Pedro Piqueras. Both novels present as character the Admiral Christopher Columbus who is recreated in them through a poetic discourse. The analysis of the mentioned novels intends to point out some of the formal aspects used in their elaboration which turn out as being a historiographic metafiction discourse such as parody, carnivalization, and intertextuality, between others. Those procedures contribute to create new images of the discoverer of America. Using complex procedures of building up images of the discoverer these novels establish a process of questioning the historical truths concerning the man and his acts, calling into question even the historical sources of references which are constantly rewritten. In this way our intention is to establish the differences between the assertions of the historical discourse and the artistic discourse of the poetry under which the novels and the images of the discoverer here analyzed were created. Poetry of hipertextuality is shown to us in relation to the theme of the discovery of America through transtextuality.
