Os psicólogos e a assistência a mulheres em situação de violência / Psychological assistance and violence against women.Hanada, Heloisa 28 March 2008 (has links)
The aim of the present investigation was to identify and analyse the insertion of psychologists working in the network of services for assisting women experiencing violence in the metropolitan region of Sao Paulo. The organization of psychological assistance in diverse assistance vocations and the integration of psychologists in work teams and in other services were studied from the perspective of women\'s needs, and multi-professional and intersectoral actions in facing the situations and providing care for gender-based violence. For that, normative documents on violence care were researched (Ministry of Health and Department of Special Policy for Women) and data from interviews with professionals working in 109 services with diverse assistance vocations in Sao Paulo (police, justice, health, psychosocial assistance, shelters, basic assistance) were analysed. Psychologists are present and their work is requested in all types of services, but with less participation in police and justice facilities. They work in the training and supervision of other professionals, as well as directly assisting the public. A great diversity of practices was observed in the assistance - clinical, educational, orientation and judicial mediation activities - with frequent adjustment of these interventions to the objectives and hierarchical culture within each category of service. In general, psychologists are called to work in the strengthening of self-esteem, the resuming of sexual life, restructuring life itself, understanding of the situation of violence, working-out of and escape from the victim condition, promotion of autonomy and search for transformation in family/ intimate relationships or gender patterns. These objectives are put to the general teams working in the services, especially the first one. The influence of conceptions and proposals from the women\'s movement is perceived in the formulation of the services\' objectives and in the way the activities are developed. The distinction between the psychologists\' work and the work of other professionals is not always clear, especially regarding social work. This results in imprecise functions and actions, which may represent difficulties in the dialogue between professionals and services, and in the integration of multi-professional actions, potentially compromising integral care to women experiencing violence. On the other hand, this impreciseness opens up space for innovations in assistance practices. Multi-professional integration is, in general, also sought within work teams of each service, but in some of them the professionals search for complementarity in their actions and integration with services with different assistance vocations. There is a need for better definitions on the specific role of psychologists in the assistance of women experiencing violence, considering the specific network and the broader assistance network in Sao Paulo.

From the very beginning, many networks have offered activities of therapeutic education to the patients. Growing satisfaction among applicants as well as the improvement of their bio clinical parameters following the practice of educational activities inevitably questions the educational features of these networks. Objective: Grasping and understanding the pedagogical conditions in which patients learn how to live with their diseases in healthcare networks. Method: An exploratory qualitative study of patients’ and caregivers’ verbatim statements extracted from semistructured interviews. Verbatim transcripts are topped up by observations of TPE sessions. Verbatim transcripts and reports of observations are analysed through a specific thematic content method. Results: Seven healthcare networks in the Ile-de-France area have been included. Twenty-six patients and seventeen caregivers have been interviewed. Twelve observations of TPE sessions have been conducted. Eleven themes have been identified to describe the learning process that patients have specifically and meaningfully developed within healthcare networks. Conclusion and perspectives: This study is opening new prospects for the TPE organisation: a new reflexion on its achievement and management, and on the educational activities offered to patients concerned with ambulatory care.

Empirical Study of Two Hypothesis Test Methods for Community Structure in NetworksNan, Yehong January 2019 (has links)
Many real-world network data can be formulated as graphs, where a binary relation exists between nodes. One of the fundamental problems in network data analysis is community detection, clustering the nodes into different groups. Statistically, this problem can be formulated as hypothesis testing: under the null hypothesis, there is no community structure, while under the alternative hypothesis, community structure exists. One is of the method is to use the largest eigenvalues of the scaled adjacency matrix proposed by Bickel and Sarkar (2016), which works for dense graph. Another one is the subgraph counting method proposed by Gao and Lafferty (2017a), valid for sparse network. In this paper, firstly, we empirically study the BS or GL methods to see whether either of them works for moderately sparse network; secondly, we propose a subsampling method to reduce the computation of the BS method and run simulations to evaluate the performance.

[en] COMMUNITY NETWORKS AS FACILITATORS FOR INTEGRATED ACTIONS: THE CASE OF BOREL NETWORK / [pt] REDES COMUNITÁRIAS COMO FACILITADORAS DE AÇÕES INTEGRADAS: O CASO DA REDE DO BORELTATIANA FAUSTINO FERREIRA 20 August 2018 (has links)
[en] This work investigates the perspective of participatory management, as the hinge on the network structure can facilitate the role of social actors to turn the proposals into concrete community and integrated it with the public or the private sector. The analysis used the methodology of action-research applied to the Borel
Community Network in order to observe the role of protagonist in articulating and implementing the proposal to develop an action plan that best met the needs of the community about the system of garbage collection. For this, a review was made of the literature on network organizations, participative management and integrated management of solid waste. The methodology provided a forum for constructive debate and exchange of knowledge among the population, technical Comlurb s employees and the researcher. The results were positive in terms of participatory and also with the practical implementation of the plan suggested by the community, but understanding that the environmental education mest continuous to achieve the success of the action and does not end just with the implementation of the new collection system. The study suggests that the community organization
network shows up as a facilitator of the promotion of joint actions, especially when the State is opened to develop a participatory public policy.

In their socio-professional integration (SPI) trajectory, internationally educated nurses (IENs) seek out support from community peer networks (CPNs). The purpose of this research was to explore the relevance of these networks. An exploratory qualitative study, guided by a pragmatic constructivist epistemology, was conducted in two CPNs of IENs who had completed their training in France. Fifteen persons participated in a semi-structured interview: 6 IENs, 4 peer-volunteers and 5 partners or SPI experts. Qualitative analyses result in four interrelated themes to describe the idea of relevance: 1) a temporal dimension reveals systemic learning capacities of CPNs in their provision of individual responses to IENs, in addition to their iterative adjustments to changing political realities of SPI and 2) a focus on the well-being of IENs in a 3) context of nursing manpower retention. A fourth theme suggests that the voluntary nature of CPNs modulates their relevance. Further synthesis provides an understanding of the relevance of CPNs that, primarily, appears in their timely responses to IENs’ realities, on an individual level. In particular, our resultant systemic model suggests that increasing the relevance of CPNs would require to further channel resources on their own specific actions and purposes, aided by facilitators; rather than attempting to build uncertain alliances with partners who, inevitably, pursue different interests. This research on a grassroots strategy by and for IENs draws attention to an engaged social nursing practice that illustrates the discipline’s emancipatory knowing, in acknowledgement of the political aims of the nursing profession.
