The present study deals with the relationship between the furniture industry context of the Bento Gonçalves city Furniture Pole and design as a competitive differential for this sector. Considering the complexity and the essential role of problem construction in the project process we take as a guideline that the competitive differential can be achieved, among other factors, through the participation of design in the briefing construction for new products and services. The research will be developed in Caxias do Sul city (RS) which belongs to this pole. In order to do so, a literature review was made in which we attempted to contextualize the furniture industry, emphasizing its main characteristics and importance as economic sector, as well as to approach the main contributions of design in the ambit of this industry. The field research will be carried out in the mentioned pole through depth interviews applied at the SM Gestão e Negócios company, which detains the Saccaro brand, part of the residential furniture segment, whose consuming
target group is the medium-sized "A" class. With this research we wish to obtain data that, being systematized, analyzed and interpreted, will allow us to trace a profile of the selected segment of the researched pole, contributing to identify whether the influence of the designer in the briefing elaboration can be a differentiation and competitiveness factor as well as to establish interrelations between design and competitive differentiation.

Processamento de requisitos em projetos de ambientes construídos : caracterização e contribuições para melhorias a partir das percepções dos profissionais que desenvolvem projetos / Requirements processing in building design: characterization and contributions for improvements from the perception of the practitionersPegoraro, Camila January 2016 (has links)
The requirements processing is a process aimed at meeting the stakeholder’s requirements. Specifically in building design, it is important due to the complex and iterative nature, and to the large number of stakeholders. Despite being studied for decades, the requirements processing is still little known by practitioners, and their problems and difficulties are mainly associated with the lack of structured procedures and little adequacy of support tools. This thesis aims to bring contributions to the implementation of improvements in the requirements processing in building design, from the perceptions of the professionals who develop such projects. Therefore, this general objective was subdivided into four specific objectives: (i) to propose a characterization of the steps and a definition of the key concepts related to the requirements processing in building design; (ii) to verify what are the techniques and tools most commonly used by professionals to process requirements, as well as the interest of those in the use of more sophisticated techniques and tools; (iii) to investigate the efficiency of the techniques and tools used to process tacitly requirements from the perspective of the practitioners, as well as identify what are the main problems they face; and (iv) to propose and test preliminary solutions to remedy the difficulties identified in the prioritization of requirements and the definition of design solutions. The thesis was structured in 5 scientific articles. The first and the second, aim to meet the objective (i) through a systematic review and a proposal of a cognitive map, respectively. The third and fourth articles explore, through an exploratory case study and a survey, respectively, the tacit practices of processing requirements and the difficulties of professionals, thus meeting the objectives (ii) and (iii). The fifth article presents the application of two methods as alternatives to meet the objective (iv). As a result, it was possible to make a characterization of the requirements processing in building design, and to indicate a way for improvements through the diagnosis of existing practices, the difficulties of practitioners and the new tools proposed. The main conclusion is that the successful implementation of improvements, both by improving techniques that are already used in the routine of professionals, as more complex tools depends on the prior understanding of the difficulties in the environment where the projects are developed, and investment in training people.

開放兩岸四區觀光對特殊人員入出境作業之研究 / A Study of special personnel’s entry and exit operations on the cross-strait’s tourism謝佾廷, Hsieh, Yi Teng Unknown Date (has links)
Since the Kuomintang government withdrew to Taiwan in 1949, Taiwan and Mainland China are divided ruled from the period of military conflict (1949-1978) to the period of non-mutual contact(1979-1987). Until 1987, our government based on the considerations of humanitarian and family ties and announced lifting the Martial Law, then opened residents to the mainland to visit their relatives. And since January 1, 2002, our government opened more mainland people to Taiwan for sightseeing, in 2008, the Kuomintang government won the Presidential Election and plan to continuously open wider to the mainland people to Taiwan for sightseeing by the estimation of annual 1.1 million.
From the view point of national security, particularly the Intelligence personnel may infiltrate to Taiwan to make intelligence collection. So,it is worth profound study and discussion.
As the Mainland China has not given up the intention to armed invasion of Taiwan, The Intelligence personnel pretended tourists are the main targets in the entry and exit audit operations. For cautious assessment of the scope of threats to national interests and for the protection of national interests to develop contingency plans and the policy Planning, this study take the use of Literature analysis , historical research and case studies ,especially focus on a total of the seized spy case study analysis.
We hope that the conclusion of the study would be taken into account by the relevant government units in the planning of further opening up the mainland to Taiwan for sightseeing. in the meanwhile, the relevant units should guard against the guise of mainland tourists to Taiwan in the name of "traffic" but clandestine communication or infiltration in reality, and make more effective national security management mechanism.

A Feasibility Study of a Bourdieu-informed Parent Briefing Intervention to Improve Parents' Satisfaction with Decision Making for Hospitalized Children with Complex Health Care NeedsLeGrow, Karen Suzanne 10 January 2012 (has links)
Children with complex health problems who are dependent upon medical technology require frequent hospitalizations, during which parents must make difficult decisions regarding their child’s care. Although principles of “family-centred care” have been widely adopted by paediatric hospitals, studies indicate that many parents are dissatisfied with their roles in decisions about their child’s care. Pierre Bourdieu’s Logic of Practice, specifically his concepts of field, capital, and habitus, as they relate to cultural and symbolic capital within the field of pediatric medicine, were used to guide the design of a parent briefing intervention aimed at improving parents’ satisfaction with decision making. Briefings were conducted during daily hospital rounds. Physicians and nurses were asked to sit while using a checklist as a communication guide.
A two-part study was conducted to determine feasibility of a randomized controlled trial of a parent briefing. One component was a psychometric evaluation of an instrument to measure parents’ satisfaction with decision making. The other was a phase I single group, post-test study of the parent briefing. Eighty-two parents of children admitted to an in-patient unit in a large metropolitan pediatric health centre, with an expected length of stay ≥ 3 days, completed the Family Satisfaction with Decision Making (FS/DM) subscale and the Decisional Conflict Scale (DCS) prior to discharge. A subgroup of parents participated in the parent briefing study.
The Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient of the FS/DM was 0.87, and it was inversely correlated with the DCS (r2= -0.635, p<0.0001). Eighteen physicians, 25 nurses, and 31 parents participated in the phase I trial of the briefing intervention. Sixty-eight out of an expected 93 briefings were carried out as per study protocol. Nineteen parents did not receive the required “dose” of the study intervention. Mean time to complete the intervention was 11.9 minutes (SD = 6.9). Parents and nurses rated the acceptability and usefulness of the intervention favourably, whereas physicians’ ratings were mixed.
The FS/DM instrument is a suitable primary outcome measure for an RCT. However, more work needs to be done, to ensure the feasibility of the intervention, including more intensive clinician training.

Detection and interpretation of weak signalsWiik, Richard January 2016 (has links)
Managing safety at a nuclear power plant is about a complex system with demanding technology under time pressure where the cost of failure is exceptionally high. Swedish nuclear power plants have over the last few years introduced Pre-job Briefing and other so called Human Performance Tools to advert errors and strengthen control. By using the Systemic Resilience Model different views of safety are taken to understand the origin of the signals that leads to a Pre-job Briefing, and how the signal is interpreted, re-interpreted, and presented. The study took place at a Swedish nuclear power plant and included four days of observations and 20 interviewees. The thematic analysis shows a similarity between mentioned origins of Pre-job Briefings and the intended use of Pre-job Briefing. Characteristics of a High Reliability Organisation is shown in practice by a culture of that one will to have a Pre-job Briefing is enough, that sharp end workers is used as a valuable resource for safety and a systematic support to screen jobs over time without influencing non-job related factors. The signals acted upon matched well with the intended, and personnel get several opportunities to evaluate the signals together, striving for best possible circumstances. The Systemic Resilience Model was successfully applied together with a thematic analysis, which strengthens its validity as a holistic model that combines different views of safety in one coherent model. SyRes allowed to present additional themes, leaving the question at what stage SyRes is optimally implemented in a thematic analysis.
