Control of distributed energy storage and EVs in building communities

Zigga, Kweku, Nasir, Usman January 2023 (has links)
This study delves into the comparative operational effectiveness of non-coordinated, bottom-up, and top-down coordinated control models within Distributed Energy Storage Systems (DESS) and Electric Vehicle (EV) networks. Employing meticulous data analysis, this research evaluates power demand and supply dynamics within the infrastructure and buildings, aiming to optimize energy usage and storage. The analysis involves comprehensive steps: descriptive statistical breakdown, understanding energy patterns across buildings, and a comparative assessment of the control models. Visual representations and graphs aid in depicting energy patterns, emphasizing the distinctive characteristics and effectiveness of each control model. The findings reinforce the superiority of the top-down coordinated control model in managing supply-demand imbalances, echoing established literature.

Värdeflödesanalys : logistik och installation av solceller / Value stream mapping : logistics and installation of solar cells

Gran, Niklas, Thunberg, Albin January 2020 (has links)
This report visualizes the value stream of solar cells at three different types of installations, followed by proposal of improvement at a growing installation company in Sweden. Through value stream mapping, we see a clear connection between a fast growing rate and logistical problems, where traceability, facilities and staff are key factors, which needs to be connected to create as optimal flow as possible. The results are divided into two groups. The first consists of visualization and information of the current value stream and the second of what kind of improvement we suggest the company takes into consider to go even further. We can also see that the company has great potential to increase its profitability by implementing ERP to its logistical department and to connect the other departments to reach a higher level of efficiency.

'Doing hope': mentoring with people doing care, working and dealing with trauma in a township in South Africa

McLachlan, Christine 28 February 2007 (has links)
Working in a township is a challenging but also rewarding way of living. In this dissertation the researcher, in collaboration with the co-searchers, explore ways to mentor one another as they learn how to deal with trauma, either by experiencing trauma directly or witnessing secondary trauma. This leads to new ways of being 'in the moment', coping with trauma, forming a community of care and learning to be in an aware and empowered position. The responsibility of practical theology and the commitment to pastoral care are explored in the context of theology, and spesifically feminist theology, contributing to 'do hope' in Mamelodi. / Philosophy, Practical & Systematic Theology / M.Th. Didaktisk värdegrundspotential i dystopi. : Kvalitativ textanalys av Nordins trilogi. / The didactics potential of fundamental values in dystopic literature. : A qualitative text analysis of the trilogy by Nordin.

Berggren, Madeleine January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this paper is to make a qualitative text analysis of the trilogy by Sofia Nordin based on its possibility to teach about the fundamental values in school for grade 4-6.   The Swedish School inspectorate shows in an examination (2012) that the Swedish primary school are shortcoming in the mission to teach about the fundamental values in the subject swedish. Some causes they mention are the teachers lack of understanding what sort of literature they should use, and what in the literature to use.   This study is therefore aiming to find a suitable text which by the work turned out to be a dystopia. By qualitative text analysis the question at issues examines to answer the aim of this paper. They are the darkness, democracy, human rights and solidarity. In the results the paper has found a good potential for the novels to teach about the fundamental values in grade 4-6.
