Management von Produktinformationen aus Entwicklungs- und Betriebsphase

Stelzer, Ralph, Saske, Bernhard, Arndt, Stephan 10 December 2016 (has links) (PDF)

The Role of Security Clearance, Users' Involvement, and Computer Self-Efficacy in the Efficiency of Requirements-Gathering Process: An Information-Systems Case Study in the U.S. Military

Igbonagwam, Okey Azu 01 January 2008 (has links)
The central research problem of this study was the challenges that occur with the United States Joint Warfighters Center's (JWFC) implementation of information systems (IS) requirements-gathering process. Thus, this study investigated the contribution of perceived security clearance (PSC), developer perceived user involvement (DPUI), and computer self-efficacy (CSE) to efficiency of the perceived requirements-gathering process (PERGP). Due to the perceived efficiency of IS development, the U.S. Department of Defense statutory document called the Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS), mandated that as an IS development requirement, the rapid development of IS was needed to sustain U.S. warfighters. As a result, the central aim of this study was to look at several variables that may predict the efficiency to the IS requirements-gathering process at JWFC. The central research question behind this study was: What are the contributions of PSC, DPUI, and CSE to the PERGP at the JWFC? This study proposed a theoretical model, and two statistical methods were used to formulate models and test predictive power: Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and Ordinal Logistic Regression (OLR). The sample size of this study included 61 IS developers from JWFC. The results of this study indicated a strong reliability for the measures of all variables (PSC, DPUI, CSE, and PERGP). Moreover, results of both models developed indicated that DPUI is a significant contributor to PEGRP, while CSE was demonstrated to be significant contributor to PEGRP only via the OLR model providing the indication that the relationships among the measured variables was non-linear. Additionally, results demonstrated that DPUI was the most significant contributor to PEGRP in both models, while PSC had little or no contribution to the dependent variable, PEGRP. This study also identified two key implications for practice and research. The first impaction of this study is the investigation of unique factors such as PSC and PEGRP in the context of military-based IS development within DOD organizations. Results of this study can help managers in government organizations that are faced with security clearance issues to identify contributors in the early phase of IS development that could possibly hinder PEGRP. The second implication of this study is the non-significant results related to PSC in this investigation. For researchers, such results may need future validation in other governmental and military-based organization. Moreover, such results may indicate to managers in government organizations that are faced with security clearance issues that security clearance, at least as indicated by the results of this study, has no major hindering on the PEGRP. These results maybe profound in their implications and, as such, needed additional validations.

Visual design examples in the evaluation of anticipated user experience at the early phases of research and development

Pakanen, M. (Minna) 08 December 2015 (has links)
Abstract User experience research has focused mainly on understanding user experiences during or directly after use. However, studies that focus on anticipated user experiences are scarce. Different methods and metrics have also been developed to measure user experience, but only a few are suitable for evaluating visual user interface design in an anticipated use situation. Moreover, these methods do not provide guidance on how to create suitable examples for research. This thesis investigates how anticipated user experiences, needs, and wishes for visual user interface design can be studied in the early development phase. Furthermore, it investigates how visual design examples can be created and used in these studies as well as their benefits. To answer these questions, it was necessary to create and evaluate prototypes and visual design examples in the user early development phase user experience studies. The examples allowed the study of how interactive elements of user interfaces should be visually designed to draw users’ attention to them. In addition, the thesis explains the means of increasing the visibility of an interactive object and the impact of its use context on its visual design. A constructive design research approach is used in this thesis. The research material is compiled from the artifacts and results of the seven user studies. The main data collection and analysis methods are qualitative, supported with some quantitative methods. The main contribution of this thesis is a practical EDE method for creating visual design examples and evaluating them in early development phase anticipated user experience studies focused on the visual design of a user interface. The second contribution of this thesis is user experience-based preliminary suggestions for the design of interactive elements within the studied user interfaces. The findings are useful for both practitioners and researchers dealing with user experience and visual user interface design. Tutkimuksen lähestymistapa on konstruktiivinen suunnittelun tutkimus.

No. of bitstreams: 1 PAULO HENRIQUE DOS SANTOS.pdf: 1185590 bytes, checksum: 8e13c3e54e0b96ad189ee0669ad108c9 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2017-11-13 / The Enterprise Cooperation Networks (ECN) were created to increase competitiveness and protect Medium and Small Businesses (MSB) of large competitors. Many ECNs find it difficult to remain active in the market. The life cycle model contributes to overcome these problems, taking into account the characteristics of MSBs and broadens the understanding of their changes over time. In this scenario, the present research aims to identify, in this life cycle model, the stage that some selected networks in the State of Goiás find, replicating the study of the same theme carried out in the networks of the South of Brazil. This research aims to broaden the understanding of four different points of view, involving ECNs, namely: theoretical, managerial, regional development and public management point of view. It is a study of multiple cases, of descriptive character, also involving, bibliographical survey. This model was applied in two ECNs located in the State of Goiás, identifying its level of development. Subsequently, the results obtained in the State of Goiás were compared with those obtained in the research conducted in the South of the country. Semi-structured and structured interviews were conducted with qualitative and quantitative data approaches, developed by content analysis techniques. As a result, Rede 2000 was part of the Decline phase and the Real Estate Network in the transition from the Development to Maturity / Consolidation phase. Comparing the results with those of the South, the importance of external influence on the ECNs was verified in both studies. It was noted that in the southern survey there were thirteen ECNs available and only two in Goiás. In the South, ECNs receive public support from programs specifically geared to them, and in Goiás this does not happen, with programs focused only on cooperatives and Local Productive Arrangements (LPA). Nowadays, in Goiás, members access social networks intensively through computers and smartphones, and this has provided an informal exchange of information among them, strengthening the link between them, helping to develop and maintain network consolidation.

Définition et représentation d'intentions liées à l'expérience d'utilisation en phase amont du processus de conception de produit / Definition and representation of user experience intentions in the early phase of the industrial design process : a focus of the kansei process

Gentner, Alexandre 25 April 2014 (has links)
In the industrial context, users' experience with products recently became a major differentiation factor between competitors and can greatly influence the success of a product. In parallel, the interest from the design research community about this topic is also growing. This research intends to contribute to both contexts by investigating the definition and representation of user experience intentions. When defining the theoretical background of this research a link will be created between the complementary notions of user experience and kansei process. Based on this original field of study, this dissertation will discuss design activities undertaken by design teams in order to nourish the much wider industrial design process. With the five experiments that will be presented in this dissertation, I will explore the creation of tools and methodologies centred on potential users' kansei process and supporting the creation of intentions related to the user experience of products to be designed. I will also investigate how the nature of the resulting early representations can impact reciprocal understanding within multi-cultural design teams, and finally how the developed approach (Kansei Design approach) can impact different typologies of new concept development projects. In terms of academic contributions, this research enabled to model the exchange of kansei-related design information among design-teams and highlighted the added value of multi-sensory early representations resulting from experience-centred design activities. Regarding industrial contributions, the different experiments made it possible to characterise the Kansei Design approach in terms of tools, methodologies, and early representations. Moreover a link was established between the different characteristics of this approach and three typologies of new experience-centred concept development projects leading to different products development projects.

Abd Alwaheb, Sofia January 2023 (has links)
In healthcare, IT security is crucial for protecting both personal information and patient safety. Currently, the implementation of security measures and testing is done after software development, which can reduce efficiency, and pose a potential risk to patient privacy. This study examined the implementation of the DevSecOps methodology in healthcare, focusing on the development phase. By interviewing employees and using security tools such as SAST, code review, penetration testing, and DAST, benefits and challenges were identified. The challenges included a lack of security knowledge and difficulty integrating tools for free. Despite this, the results demonstrated the potential to enhance security, streamline operations, and save money by utilizing free tools and implementing security during the development phase. Training and hiring security-competent personnel were also emphasized as important for maintaining high security standards.

Supporting learners with autism in an early childhood centre for learning : a case study in inclusive education

Enock, Rebecca Joe 09 1900 (has links)
Inclusive education is a fundamental part of South African Education with policies and initiatives being designed to provide support for learners with barriers to learning. With autism as a growing global phenomenon, South Africa has the additional challenge of providing learning support for learners with autism. This dissertation focuses on how one specialised preschool provides inclusive opportunities for preschool learners with autism through learning support. This setting is unique as it shares the same physical location as a mainstream preschool. The study focuses upon how the preschool teachers support their learners with autism so that they can be included within the adjoining inclusive environment. The research was conducted through participant observation and supporting interviews over a period of six months. All observations were recorded through field notes and reflections. The research produced a number of key findings. The shared physical environment enabled teachers and learners from both preschool settings to work together on a daily basis. This had a positive effect upon peer acceptance, staff and learner relationships and opportunities for staff to communicate and work collaboratively on a daily basis. The specialised preschool teachers provided learning support through the adaptation of learning environment, curriculum, multi sensory learning and language and communicative means. The main conclusions drawn from this research were the importance of a close working relationship between staff members and learners from both settings; the importance of adapting communication, environment and learning expectations; and lastly, the importance of focusing upon each individual when providing inclusive opportunities. The research recommends having a specialist setting physically close to an inclusive environment as this enables learners with high needs such as autism to build up the skills needed to benefit from being included. In addition, the research recommends staff in mainstream and specialist settings to have regular opportunity to work together collaboratively when developing learning strategies. Finally, the research recommends the publication of a guideline, outlining the nature of autism and recommended strategies to use within the classroom, which would serve as a flexible document for teachers to adapt to support their individual learners. / Inclusive Education / M. The utilisation of the memory box as a medium in gestalt play therapy with AIDS orphans in middle childhood

Gough, Faye Margaret 30 November 2006 (has links)
This study aimed to test the efficacy of the memory box as a medium in Gestalt Therapy, specifically within a therapeutic group with AIDS orphans in the middle childhood phase of development. The aim was to explore and describe the utilisation of the memory box, as a medium for telling one's story, within the safety of the Gestalt play therapy group. It was felt that the increased self-awareness fostered by belonging to a supportive group could enhance self-concept. The research included qualitative and quantitative data. Theoretical and the meta-theoretical assumptions affecting children, in the middle childhood phase, orphaned through HIV/AIDS, were reviewed. The group sessions were described and the data obtained from the pre and post-test was graphically illustrated. The information was then compared to ascertain whether the objectives had been met. Results show that the memory box, used in Gestalt play therapy groups, with AIDS orphans was effective. / Social Work / M.Diac. (Play Therapy)
