Analyse dialectométrique des parlers berbères de Kabylie / Dialectometric analysis of Berber dialects of Kabylia

Guerrab, Saïd 11 February 2014 (has links)
This study is a dialectometric analysis of Berber dialects of Kabylia. This work includes a sample of 168 Kabyle dialects spread across the Kabyle territory. The analyzed corpus includes 130 entries (lexemes and phrases) collected in each of the varieties considered. We opted for the Levenshtein method to calculate the distance between the variants. We chose the algorithm of Ward's Method for grouping varieties. We tested three methods to calculate the distance between the sounds: the binary method, the Euclidean distance and the Manhattan distance. The analysis of the results allowed us to show the dialect continuum in Kabylia and classify Kabyle dialects into five mains areas.

Un'Analisi della Variazione Lessicale Regionale Nell’Inglese di California Attraverso le Ricerche in Rete Limitate per Sito / AN ANALYSIS OF REGIONAL LEXICAL VARIATION IN CALIFORNIA ENGLISH USING SITE-RESTRICTED WEB SEARCHES

ASNAGHI, COSTANZA 12 March 2013 (has links)
The study examines regional lexical variation in written Standard California English. The valuesof 45 continuous lexical alternation variables are gathered through site-restricted web searches in 336 online newspaper websites based in 270 locations in California and then calculated as proportions. Statistical techniques analyze global and local spatial autocorrelation values. The results of the analysis, reported in 90 maps, confirm the regional distribution of the variables in California. The 45 lexical variables are then analyzed with multivariate techniques to identify the linguistic relations between the surveyed California cities. Factor analysis, which accounts for 50.5% of the variation in the data, highlights three areas in the regional lexical distribution: north/south, urban/rural, central and lower southern/upper southern and northern areas. The hierarchical cluster analysis also distinguishes six major dialect regions in California: the North dialect region, the Sacramento-Santa Cruz dialect region, the San Francisco Bay Area dialect region, the Central dialect region, the Upper Southerns dialect region, and the Lower Southern dialect region. Five multivariate maps are provided in the thesis. The explanation of the results is based both on historical settlement patterns and on a socio-cultural explanation, which are reflected in the language in California.

Variations de formes dans la langue Mbochi (Bantu C25) / Forms variations in mbochi language (bantu C25)

Kouarata, Guy Noël 10 October 2014 (has links)
Our study entitled “variations of forms in Mbochi language (Bantu C25)” is considered as part of the Bantu historical linguistics. It identifies and locates the ten Mbochi dialects through a dialectometric analysis. It shows that Mbochi is a Bantu language spoken in the northern part of Republic of Congo, mainly in the Cuvette (in the districts of Boundji, Ngoko, Tchikapika and Oyo) and Plateau (in the Ongogni districts Ollombo, Abala Alembé) departments. It has ten dialects (Olee, Mbonzi, Tsambitso, Ngilima, Bokwele, Bonyala, Ngae, Obaa, Eboyi and Ondinga). Our analysis targets a better understanding of the underlying language mechanisms of linguistic diversity of Mbochi and is focused on sound, morphological and lexical variations from one dialect to another. It highlights the differences and similarities between these dialects. It also presents a phonological and morphological description of the current Mbochi dialects (synchrony). It examines the phonological and morphological correspondences to the proto-bantu before reconstructing the phonemes and morphemes of proto-Mbochi, the hypothetical source of the current Mbochi dialects. This study divides the Mbochi dialects into three main sub-groups according to their phonological and morphological similarities. It shows both the impact of geographical proximity and that of language contact in the diversification of these dialects.
