Institucionální přijetí konceptuálního umění v Evropě / Institutional acceptance of concept art across Europe

Biľová, Zuzana January 2011 (has links)
Author's name: Bc. Zuzana Biľová School: Charles University, Prague Ústav pro dějiny umění Celetná 20, 110 00 Praha 1 Program: Masters program Title: Institutional acceptance of concept art across Europe Consultant: PhDr. Márie Klimešová, Ph.D. Number of pages: 96 + appendix Number of attachments: 4 Year: 2011 Key words: conceptual art, Harald Szeemann, Documenta 5, When attitudes become form, conceptual art in former CSSR This thesis refers to the problems that arise from the definition of conceptual art and the sole development of this term. Through two main exhibitions that were in the beginning and in the end of the conceptual art, I am trying to look closer at the institutional acceptance of this movement in Europe. I have reconstructed a complex description of the preparation, evolution and the process of the so-called exhibition "When attitudes become form", that is seen as the first conceptual art display on the European continent. The exhibition was held in Bern in 1969 and it had served as a main concept for its curator, Harald Szeemann, for the organization of international exhibition called "Documenty 5" that confirmed the domination of conceptual art but marked the beginning of its ideological downturn. My work closely analyses this second project, however, it mostly deals with the...

The elements that potentially can play a role and assure the user the access to the Software relay on the fields of the Information Science and Technical Communication. In this work the basic requirements for the building of the Software Manuals according to the IEEE 1063 Standard and also to the complete model proposed by Galv?o (2003) are presented. From the integration of the two models the model here proposed is created, which is expected to satisfy small developers and the Free-Software community, incorporating both the printed and the Manual built-in formats. Once the reduced model is accomplished, it follows the empirical-exploratory study where a sample of the Software Manuals for Library is applied with the aim of identifies the presence (or not) of the model elements. Considering the key role of the technological advent in the information transfer, this work considers both supporting formats, establishing a comparison that indicates the trend and advantages from each one.

O suporte videogrÃfico entre os Ãndios Tapeba: produÃÃo e afirmaÃÃo de identidade Ãtnica / The videographic support among Indians Tapeba: production and assertion of ethnic identity

Gabriel Aguiar de Andrade 29 June 2012 (has links)
With the advent of video cameras in the mid-70s, the fields of communication and social sciences witnessed the birth of a technological tool that changed a number of theoretical and methodological procedures within the academy. In possession of equipment lighter and easier to handle some anthropologists began to use video cameras and / or portable audio recorders in his ethnographic research. Similarly, documentary filmmakers and ethnographic techniques employed in the process of making their films, especially those that occurred in indigenous communities or isolated populations. In this dissertation we analyze two videos from the point of view the use of videographic support as an instrument of ethnic affirmation and production of an indigenous identity Tapeba, constructive actions observed in memory of identity that develop in and from those audiovisual narratives, and through strong presence of orality. Since the beginning of the 80s, a period of intensified manifestations in Ceará indigenous and other Northeastern states, several audiovisual (photographs and documentaries) took part in a kind of strategy use and dissemination of indigenous interests.

Even following these activities and using the proposed methods the resultant product may have some deviation with respect to its functional and nonfunctional requirements, not corresponding to the expected features. To minimize such problems, the test activity aims to ensure both the construction of the correct product and its correct construction. Since testing is considered a costly activity, research are conducted aiming at to make it feasible. This work ts in this context, in order improve the selection of test cases, thus increasing the quality of software products and the performance of testing guideline. It is interesting to note that, testing guideline is a fundamental artifact of the testing process and consists of test cases that, by de nition, execute a particular functionality of the program or check the suitability of the product over its speci ed requirements. Since the quality of the selected test cases have a great impact on the quality of the nal product, this work introduces the Extended Systematic Functional Test (ESFT) as a way to systematize the development and selection of test cases based on functional testing. A web system and a testing guideline used in certi cation were assessed using the ESFT in order to demonstrate the applicability and possible contributions of its use in terms of defect detection. The results are promising since the systematization, increases the number of selected test data, improves the detection of defects, and allow to justify why a particular test data is selected based on functional criteria.

It also aimed to identify the elements that should be considered in the documentation of a task in this kind of software development. This research is of importance when considering that a Task is the component that links the other components of the software crowdsourcing model, which are: the Buyer, the Platform, and the Crowd. It is the task that expresses the Buyer?s need to the crowd members. We followed a qualitative research approach and conducted a Case Study with newcomers in Software Crowdsourcing and a Field Study with industry professionals. Data was analyzed using the Content Analysis technique. We found that, for the Case Study novices, the documentation of the task had a secondary role in the task selection. However, the need of a clear documentation become more relevant during the development of the task given that this is the moment that the instructions within the documentation need to be decoded by the developer and turned into a solution to be later submitted to the platform. For the Field Study participants, the most relevant elements related to the documentation of a task were how clear the description of a task is and their prior knowledge about the task content in order to influence its selection. Inspired on our studies? results, we propose a model for task documentation in TopCoder. We believe this model will likely aid the description of tasks in software crowdsourcing and will, as a consequence, help crowd members in their task development journey.

It also analyzes if Cedoc could be an instrument to perpetuate the jounalistic company?s manipulation and persuasion. By means of indirect comment, the research analyzed how Rede Anhang?era de Comunica??o (RAC)?s Cedoc works. RAC is a news group that publishes the periodical paper Correio Popular, in Campinas, S?o Paulo state. This work also analyses the texts retrieved in Documentation Center that were originally published in the Correio Popular between 2001 and 2004, about the program Or?amento Participativo, implanted by the city hall of Campinas. The sdudy was made on the basis of the rhetorical analysis and in the standards of press manipulation described from Abramo. The Documentation Center is an place where a communication's process runs, therefore it has as characteristic the information's feedback and the capacity to turn the journalistic production from ephemeral to perennial. The study identifies problems noticed in order to retrieve information from the Cedoc, caused by using several and insufficient methods on document handling. This work also demonstrates that, just like the paper itself does with its readers, Cedoc tries to convince users that the facts had happened the way they are registered. In such a way, it is concluded that the Documentation Center strengthens the press performance while private device of hegemony , as pointed for Gramsci.

The register and proper filling of these documents, taking care of the ethical and legal requirements, provide to the dentist the possibility to contribute with justice in cases of human identification and makes of these documents an essential element of evidence in the ethical processes, administrative, civil and criminal against the dentists. Ahead of this fact, understanding such requirements and the importance of the dentist to register himself adequately, this research verified the knowledge of Natal (RN) City s dentists with relation to the elaboration of the dental handbook, investigating the concepts and the importance attributed to the handbook, identifying the documents more used and filed by these professionals, besides inquiring the legal value of filed documents and the filling time of these ones. The sample was constituted by 124 dentists, who had answered a questionnaire, after having been randomly selected ITom a list of professionals subscribed in the Dentistry Local Council/RN Section. The analysis of the results showed that majority of the participant cit?zens (52,3%) confers to the dental documentation the clinical importance, followed by the legal and forensic-dentistry importance; 59,3% of the searched professionals do not distinguish satisfactorily or they do not observe differences between the dental handbook and the clinical filing card, the X-rays, the dental certificates, the prescriptions, the directions and the receipts; between the documents of common use to cl?nical and specialist ones, the contract of rendering of services and term of ITee and cleared up consent are the documents less used by the professionals. It was still verified, that only 13,1% of the sample register the signature of the patients in the clinical filing card, making it more credibility to be presented in judgement. In the same way, copies of dental certificates and prescriptions evaluated and signed by the patients are filed respectively by only 13,5% and 9,4% ofthe searched professionals and 50% ofthe sample, keep these documents filed for an indeterminate period of time, that is, these professionals have the guard of the handbook and they do not intend to disdain it, although 85,5% of the sample does not recognize the real proprietor of the handbook. It is concluded that a great part of the dentists is unaware about the importance of the dental documentation, and neglect its elaboration, leaving themselves exposed to several kinds of penalties foreseen in the legislation / A documenta??o odontol?gica ou prontu?rio odontol?gico ? uma cole??o de documentos produzidos pelo profissional, com finalidade diagn?stica e terap?utica, onde s?o registradas as informa??es inerentes ? sa?de bucal e geral dos pacientes. Documenta 11 as examplar for transcultural curating : a critical analysis

Van Niekerk, Leone Anette 11 August 2008 (has links)
This study investigates to what extent the curatorial project of Documenta 11 offered an operative cultural concept beyond multiculturality by favouring a transcultural approach to difference in the global sphere. It questions whether the central strategy employed – of postcoloniality as tactical manoeuvre to expand both the public and aesthetic spheres in order to create the conditions for an ethical engagement with difference – could facilitate a workable exemplar for showing art from different production sites, yet resist levelling of differences for an ever-expanding global art market. Proceeding from the postcolonial institutional critique envisioned by the artistic director, Okwui Enwezor, this study engages critically with the notion of opening-out Documenta in terms of inclusivity and equality of representation. It is argued that while the proposed postcolonial reinvigoration of overlapping public spheres held the promise of heterogeneous participation and minimised the formation of hegemonies, the expansion-project of Documenta 11 could on another level be interpreted to function as a globalising instrument usurping previously unexplored territories and discover marketable ‘others’ for a neocolonial cultural marketplace. Documenta 11 set out to subvert the expansionism of a global art market by constructing the global as postcolonial space in which proximity became the ethical space of engagement. It is the contention of this study that by emphasising the production of locality, the five Platforms localised the global discourse and expressly addressed how inclusivity and pluralism could be approached against the disparities created by globalisation processes. Historically, for artists from the South denial of proximity and coevalness based on colonial conceptions of space and time had meant exclusion from the canon and, where modernist notions persist, being labelled as deficient. In order to breach gaps, de-hegemonise cultural coding and aid transcultural translation, Documenta 11 located its project in its entirety in Homi K. Bhabha’s in-between space, in the gap, as it were. This orientation towards the gap is examined in terms of homelessness, displacement and nomadic subjectivity that impact the archiving logic of Documenta to become anarchival: memory production turned into counter-memory and the work of remembrance was shaped as counter-memorials. Criticised for a skewed commitment to social engagement, rather than aesthetics, the exhibition of Documenta 11 was nonetheless informed by a threshold aesthetic. Different kinds of oppositionality employed by artists, and adversarial approaches reinvigorated by Situationist and Third Cinema strategies put forward by the curators, are evaluated in this regard. An agonistic positioning is explored as, firstly, a counter-localisation to multiculturalism in a transcultural exhibition and, secondly, to resist assimilation and co-optation. It is argued that the embrace of the threshold, of thirdness and littoral curating by Documenta 11 could be considered an exemplar of a global trickster positioning aiming for an expansion of critical visual strategies. The contention of this study is that, having set out to grapple with the construction of multiple public spheres and the space of the transnational exhibition as a creole location, this Documenta at the very least opened up discursive spaces that could expand artistic discourses. At best, Documenta 11 uncovered routes by which difference in the transcultural field could be (re)negotiated. / Thesis (PhD)--University of Pretoria, 2008. / Visual Arts / unrestricted
