The paper deals with the description and analysis of public transport in major cities of the Russian Federation and the Czech Republic - Prague and Moscow. Attention is devoted mainly to the state, plans and prospects of development, investment and crime. Very interesting part is the history of public transportation in both cities. Based on the information gathered, the adequacy of public transport for both cities, the size of transport companies, financing of public transport have been evaluated. Chapter plans and prospects informes about the planned construction of new metro lines in Prague and Moscow, which will help to improve infrastructure in the suburban areas of mentioned cities.

This thesis deals with public passenger transport in the Šumava and the Bavarian border. The theoretical part is devoted to analysis of regulation of public transport and public services, and issues related to transport infrastructure. The main aim of the study is to analyze the current state of public transport in the Šumava border and within the selected Micro Šumava -- West analysis to compare the results with the minimum standard of transport services in the Czech republic. Due to the frontier nature of the Bohemian Forest is part of the work devoted to the description of public transportation in neighboring Lower Bavaria. SWOT analysis is followed by member municipalities of Micro Šumava -- West, which represents the basis for assessing the importance of developing transport services in rural areas.

This paper deals with road charging. Especially reasons, goals and possible ways of road charging, EFC systems and their applications in telematics are described. The second part of this paper is dedicated to road charging system in Austria with its instrument and future trends.

The thesis describes and assesses the current state of the transport network situation in the capital of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava. The core topic is a description of the problem areas, assessing the current status and evolution over time, for the urban public transport system.

Subject of current diploma thesis is study of transport infrastructure of Russian Federation. Study is reviewing development of transport after revolution to the present day, describes transportation network and main parts of it with emphasis on freight transportation. Study shows role of each form of transportation within the state and as a part international trade, shows major problems in every sector, prospects or development and strategic targets. Russian import-export structure proves, that country exports resources as main commodity and imports goods and services, which is a reason or importance of Sankt-Peterburg and Siberian regions and their development. Study also analyzes further dialogue regarding integration of Russia into European transportation network via corridors and cooperation in the matter of unification of technical and other norms and working on Nord Stream and other projects. Main inhibitor of integration process is underdevelopment of legislative and economical conditions and fragmentation of Russian government in key strategic decisions regarding long-term projects and obsolescence of Russian infrastructure. Cooperation can be profitable to both sides, to EU it brings resources and new markets, to Russia increase of economic welfare and modernization of standards).

Pavel Makovský: Geopolitical aspects of transport interconnections development in the Southern Caucasus Abstract This study solves transport interconnection in the South Caucasus region with a focus on four modes of transport - air, rail, road and pipeline. The research covers regional cooperation and cross-border involvement of other states and international organizations. Literature and data research from statistical office of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia sites, which I analyzed and confronted with the liberal theory of functionalism (neofunctionalism) and the opposite theory of realism (neorealism), was conducted. The result is an interdependence analysis evaluated at two ranks (regional and cross-border). It is followed by the applicability and summary of all political actors acting on the basis of liberal or realistic thinking. This thesis aims to modal-choice and changes of transport behaviour, especially for students on the route from Praha to České Budějovice. The route is chosen due to expanding of the highway and to newly introduced bus and train services. The category of the students is interesting terms to limited options in the context of finances in relation to employees. The comparison of the preferences of these groups is the goal of the thesis. The goal verification has been completed by quantitative and qualitative research by questionnaire. The questionnaire for employees was created by Public opinion research centre, while the questionnaire for the students was created specifically by the author of the thesis. Contrary to the original assumptions, the thesis found that students prefer travel time ahead of the price and employees prefer flexibility ahead of the travel time. The goal of this thesis is determination of meaning chosen factors in modal-choice and monitoring differences of these factors between employees and students. Diplomová práce se zabývá socioekonomickou analýzou Prahy 8. Pomocí této analýzy se snaží pojmenovat silné, slabé stránky, příležitosti a hrozby Prahy 8. Popisuje základní charakteristiku území, strukturu a ekonomickou aktivitu obyvatelstva, místní ekonomiku, sociální a dopravní infrastrukturu. Na základě tohoto popisu je zpracována SWOT analýza, která vymezuje silné, slabé stránky a bariéry a příležitosti budoucího rozvoje Prahy 8.

Práce sumarizuje a dává do souvislostí vybrané úlohy operačního výzkumu, pro něž byly vyvinuty speciální optimalizační algoritmy či heuristiky kromě obecných algoritmů řešících problémy lineárního programování nebo diskrétního programování, s důrazem na praktické možnosti řešení těchto problémů danými algoritmy. Zabývá se běžnými úlohami lineárního programování s omezenými proměnnými, úlohami teorie grafů (toky, cesta grafem, kostra grafu), úlohou batohu, dopravním problémem, přiřazovacím problémem a úlohou obchodního cestujícího a srovnává speciální algoritmy s obecnými.

Tato práce se zabývá rozvojem dopravní infrastruktury Ústeckého kraje a využitím fondů EU pro její spolufinancování. V první části práce je podána základní charakteristika kraje s podrobným popisem celé sítě jeho dopravní infrastruktury. Následuje vyhodnocení dopravní infrastruktury a analýza potřeb jejího rozvoje s výběrem několika klíčových projektů. Třetí kapitola poskytuje přehled finančních nástrojů rozvoje dopravní infrastruktury využívaných v ČR, největší část je věnována fondům EU a operačním programům v období 2004-2006. Ve čtvrté kapitole jsou pak popsány konkrétní projekty podporované fondy EU v Ústeckém kraji s celkovou analýzou využití prostředků EU v období 2004-2006. Nakonec pátá kapitola ozřejmí velký potenciál programovacího období 2007-2013 pro rozvoji dopravní infrastruktury. Možnosti využití operačních programů jsou nastíněny na potenciálních projektech v Ústeckém kraji.
