Men vi tänker ju ta... : En fokusgruppstudie om undomars inställning till körkort / But We Are Going To... : A Focus Group Study of Attitudes towards Driver's License among Young PeopleFridh, Anne January 2007 (has links)

Due to the decrease in obtaining driver’s licenses among young people, the main purpose of this study was to acquire a deeper understanding of young people’s attitudes towards driver’s license and towards driver’s education. This is a qualitative study with a theoretical approach, which combines Bourdieu with post modern theories. By using focus groups a wide rage of attitudes among young people have been gathered. Having a driver’s license is still considered a standard among young people even though their attitude mostly depends on their need for one. They are also very positive towards alternative ways of transportation and towards public transport. The young are convinced that it is easy to obtain a driver’s license if they wish to have one. One main point that this study points out is that the driver’s license has lost its status as a transitional event between childhood and adulthood.

För gammal för att köra bil? : En kostnadsnyttoanalys om Sverige bör införa körkortskontroller för bilförare över 75 år / Too old to drive? : A cost-benefit analysis whether Sweden should introduce license controls for older driversEngfeldt, Elin January 2014 (has links)
The numbers of elderly increase every year and the amount of older people with a license will increase as well. When getting older, it is natural that the reaction time, hearing and vision will change and these are all important features for traffic safety. Doctors in Sweden are required to report to the Swedish Transport Agency if an individual does not seem appropriate to drive. It is not common that doctors ask their patients about their physical health and ability to drive, the questions are only asked in about 60 percent of the physical evaluations and because of that, inappropriate license holders may proceed to use a vehicle. The majority of countries within the European Union embrace some kind of upper age limit to provide drivers with a valid license and several countries have compulsory medical examinations for license holders at a certain age. It is only Sweden together with six other EU countries that does not provide any license controls for elderly and in this study a cost benefit analysis is designed to determine whether controls for drivers over the age of 75 would reduce deaths and injuries caused by traffic accidents and thus increase welfare. The countries that apply driving license controls have different rules how the controls are designed and the study presents how it works in some of the countries. Further, research within the area shows that license controls does not have any sufficient effect on traffic safety. It cannot with certainty be said how many lives are saved and the amount injuries that could be reduced by an introduction of these tests. Thus, these numbers are adopted without any sufficient evidence and from this an assumption of the cost benefit analysis will show that an introduction of license controls would not generate a welfare increase in Sweden. Based on the result it is possible to conclude that Sweden has made a good assessment to have only a reporting requirement for physicians but the reports must be stricter. Although the result shows that license controls for people over the age of 75 should not be imposed, nevertheless traffic safety for elderly should be further developed, for example with simplifying left turns and improve public transportation.

Integration Of Computer-based Virtual Check Ride System - Pre-trip Inspection In Commercial Driver License Training ProgramMakwana, Alpesh 01 January 2009 (has links)
Pre-Trip Inspection of the truck and trailer is one of the components of the current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) test. This part of the CDL test checks the ability of the student to identify the important parts of the commercial vehicle and their potential defects. The Virtual Check Ride System (VCRS), a computer-based application, is an assessment and feedback tool that mirrors the inspection component of the actual CDL. The VCRS has provided an after action review (AAR) via a feedback session that helps in identifying and correcting drivers' skill in inspecting parts and for overall safety. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the VCRS in truck driving training programs. An experimental study was conducted with truck driving students at Mid Florida Tech, located in Orlando, Florida. The students were divided into control and experimental groups. Students in the both groups received regular training provided by Mid Florida Tech. The experimental group received additional training by making use of the VCRS. A total of three paper-based tests were given to all subjects during first three weeks; one test at the end of a week. Both groups were given the same paper-based tests. A two-way analysis of variance was conducted to evaluate the effect of the VCRS in the experimental group. This analysis found a significant difference between control and experimental groups. This effect showed that the students in the experimental group increased their performance by using VCRS. Moreover, there was a main effect in the scores of each week. However, there was not an interaction between the two factors. Follow up Post Hoc tests were conducted to evaluate the pair-wise differences among the means of the test week factors using a Tukey HSD test. These Post Hoc comparisons indicated that the mean score for the third week's test scores were significantly better than the first week's test score in the experimental group. It was concluded that the VCRS facilitated learning for the experimental group and that learning also occurred for both groups as a result of repeated testing.

Role adiktologické ambulance v procesu posouzení navrácení řidičského oprávnění po jeho předchozím odebrání u pacientů s diagnózou závislosti na návykových látkách / The role of the outpatient addictological care in the process of assessing the return of a driving license after its previous removal in patients diagnosed by addiction to addictive substancesPetrlová, Ivana January 2019 (has links)
Driving license can be taken from addictological patients by diagnosing substance abuse syndrome or driving a motor vehicle under the influence of an addictive substance. After that, drivers are often sent by specialists to the outpatient addictolocial care for examination by an addictologist. However, there is currently no uniform workflow and the role of addictologist is unclear in this process. The main aim of this thesis is to describe the role of addictologist in outpatient addictolgical care in the process of assessment of the return of driving license after its previous removal in patients diagnosed with substance abuse syndrome. Data obtained by semi-structured interview with staff of 9 outpatient addictological cares, which have practical experience with the given issue, was fixed by audio recording and then transcribed into text form. Analysis of this data was done by the method of creating clusters, linking them to larger units, and organizing data into groups based on their similarity. Furthermore, the method of pattern capture, the simple enumeration method describing the frequency of the examined phenomena and the method of contrasts and comparison were used. According to individual outpatient addictologival cares, the results are different and show the following basic roles of an...

University of the Third Age and Computer literacy / U3V VŠE a počítačová gramotnost v systému celoživotního vzděláváníHnilička, Jakub January 2008 (has links)
Computer literacy has recently emerged as a new topic, complementing traditional literacy. While this issue affects every one of us, it is particularly important for people of post-productive age, who have not been able to become acquainted with information technology during their professional life. The National Computer Literacy Program provided a great opportunity to eliminate this illiteracy; unfortunately it came to an end together with termination of the Ministry of Informatics of the Czech Republic. It is striking that the State has been preparing projects in the area of e-Government, electronic census and electronic elections without having any developmental strategy for users of these ambitious projects. An opportunity to improve personal skills after the end of a professional career is provided by the University of the Third Age at the University of Economics, where students learn to use not only computers, but also the multimedia in the Graphic and Multimedia Laboratory. Unfortunately, this university is not accessible to everyone. The limitations consist particularly in the precondition of completed secondary education, but also in the available capacity. Thus, an option that is really available to everyone lies in the commercial sector, which offers a wide range of courses. These courses are provided either by software companies or by the ECDL (European Computer Driving License).
