Distribuce šelem uvnitř a na okraji lesních habitatů / Distribution of carnivores inside and at the edge of forest habitats

ČERVINKA, Jaroslav January 2010 (has links)
This thesis is focused on habitat preferences of carnivores in fragmented landscape. By using the scent station method, fine-scale utilization of forest-farm edges by mammalian predators in dependence on patch size was examined. Preferences for edge structures was detected and these structures were equally utilized by carnivores in large as well as in small forest fragments. This shows that edge effect was present in all fragments regardless the patch size.

Uměle vytvořené migrační přechody živočichů a jejich efektivnost / Artificially created animal migration passages and their effectiveness

VAJGANTOVÁ, Miroslava January 2011 (has links)
Highways, expressway and other infrastructure have a negative impact on the surrounding population of animals. These linear structures in the landscape create impassable barriers and thus cause more or less isolated subpopulations (called barrier effect). Therefore, the newly constructed building of European highways and passages specially built for the animals, known as green bridges (ecoduct). Effectiveness of transitions is influenced by several factors (width of the bridge, the frequency of passing cars, the speed limit, etc.). This thesis deals with the efficiency of artificial crossings for wildlife and provides an overview of the results published so far.

Transgenerační účinek výživy na potomstvo apomiktických rostlin / Transgenerational effect of nutrient treatment on progeny of an apomitic plant

Vlk, Lukáš January 2017 (has links)
Environmental conditions can influence epigenetic variability of clonal organisms. These environmentally induced changes have potential to persist in following generations. In theory, this transgenerational memory could allow clonal (and especially apomictic) plants to partly compensate reduced genetic variability and could enhance adaptative ability of apomictic populations. According to Muller's ratchet model, asexual organisms amass deleterious mutations, which could lead to their extinction. Possible transgenerational memory could partly compensate for this. It could also account for longtime survivorship of asexual organisms in environment. This thesis deals with transgenerational memory of triploid apomictic populations of Hieracium alpinum, with completely missing sexuality and thus genetically uniform offspring. Transgenerational effect in Hieracium alpinum was studied on clonal lineages originated from 5 populations (Norway, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovakia). Seeds were planted in cultivation experiment I in 3 treatments (control, added nutrients, added salicylic acid) and vegetative and generative traits were measured. Plants responded to nutrient addition but not to salicylic acid. Treatment with nutrient addition increased biomass, number of leaves and SLA (specific leaf...

Vliv plánovaného zařízení KIC Odpady (ZEVO) v Karviné na postoje obyvatel a síla vlivu NIMBY efektu / The influence of planned project KIC Odpady (WtE) in Karviná city on residents' attitude and the strength of NIMBY effect

Ryba, Jakub January 2014 (has links)
Although there is, in general, a significant level of support of projects related to use of renewable resources, in fact realization of the specific projects usually meets with negative attitude of local residents. This negative attitude is often called as NIMBY ("not in my backyard") effect without further research of particular causes. Therefore, in the theoretical part of this diploma thesis NIMBY effect is defined, as well as various attitudes to its interpretation in literature and also the effect of various compensation on changing residents' attitude. In the practical part, this diploma thesis analyses residents' attitude, the existence and strength of NIMBY effect and the effect of compensation on changing residents attitude towards the specific planned project of building WtE in Karviná city (KIC). The results of this analyzation show, that NIMBY effect is detected, but at the same time it is not the main cause of the negative attitude of residents. Moreover, it has been found out, that the offered compensation have not any important influence on the change of residents' attitude.

Analýza nominální a reálné konvergence zemí Visegrádské skupiny / Analysis of nominal and real convergence of the Visegrad Group states

Černý, Robert January 2013 (has links)
The aim of the submitted thesis is macroeconomic analysis, comparison and evaluation of nominal and real convergence of the Visegrad Group states with EU-15 states. By the help of regression model, one can state that in years 2004--2008 countries of V4 reached Beta - convergence with EU-15. However, this did not hold for the critical period in 2008--2012 when mainly Hungary lagged behind. There was proved a positive relationship between real and nominal convergence wherewith Balassa-Samuelson Effect for EU states was confirmed. The Czech Republic has always shown a lower nominal value than it would correspond to its GDP per capita, still it approximated to regression line over time. Other V4 states registered inverse course. During period 2004--2012, the Czech Republic performed Maastricht conver-gence criteria best from V4 states. Contrariwise, Hungary had the worst position of the ob-served period.

Vliv online uživatelských hodnocení na poptávku po PC a video hrách / Impact of online user reviews on demand for PC and video games

Veselá, Anna January 2012 (has links)
The thesis examines impact of online user reviews, expressed in 5-star rating system, on demand for PC and video games. Used weekly data are collected from www.amazon.co.uk for period 2000 - 2012. The thesis contributes to discussion which takes place between supporters of superstar theory and supporters of long tail theory. Panel structure of the dataset referred to application of fixed effects model for estimation of basic and extended model. Both estimates proved negative influence of assigned number of stars on sales rank. Basic model estimated influence of one unit change of stars on rank by 9 positions, extended model estimated this change to be 10 positions. Quantile estimate also proved negative influence of stars on sales rank. The influence is strongest for the lowest quantile of dependent variable (tau = 0,05) representing 5 % best-selling titles, where one unit change of stars causes change of 35 positions in opposite direction. With increasing quantiles this influence decreases to zero. It proves that within the market for PC and video games online user reviews contribute to superstar effect.

Analýza účinnosti on-line komunikácie DOX / The analysis of efficiency of on-line communication of DOX

Černá, Veronika January 2012 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the assessment of the effectiveness of on-line communication with the application for DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague. Dodržování lidských práv na Kubě: Působení opozičního hnutí / Human rights in Cuba: Influence of the Cuban opposition movement

Kolářová, Zuzana January 2012 (has links)
The central topic of the thesis is the Cuban pro-democracy opposition movement and its activities towards an official regime of Raul Castro. This is to try and achieve improvements in civil and political rights in Cuba. The opposition tools and strategies are analysed in the context of specific conditions of the current repressive Cuban regime. Special attention is dedicated to framing processes towards the local audience, communication strategies oriented to an international society, and an ability to involve external players to participate in effective pressure from outside; the so called boomerang effect. The movement's progress is displayed on a base of particular achievements as well as challenges faced in a long term pursuit to a democratic transition of the country.

DOPADY ZMĚNY ZDANĚNÍ TABÁKOVÝCH VÝROBKŮ NA SPOTŘEBU, STÁTNÍ ROZPOČET A NELEGÁLNÍ TRH V ČESKÉ REPUBLICE / Impacts of changes in taxation on consumption of tobacco products, government budget and illegal market in the Czech Republic

Vašíčková, Pavla January 2012 (has links)
The thesis describes and analyzes the excise tax on tobacco products and the relevant market in the Czech Republic. Changes of the excise tax on tobacco products in the Czech Republic and their impacts on the public finance, on sales of tobacco products, and on illegal market trading these products are analyzed as well as effects of government regulation on the tobacco products market. The thesis concludes that increasing excise taxes, due to the Peltzman effect, may lead to originally unintended consequences which are in the contradiction to arguments in favor of the tax increase. Distortions on the tobacco products' market make the efficient regulation difficult.
