Bosnien och Hercegovinas integrering med EU : En studie av korruptionens betydelse

Ozegovic, Elvira January 2008 (has links)
In this paper corruption in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been studied to investigate to what extent corruption inhibits Bosnia and Herzegovina’s possibilities of integrating with EU. The overarching research question is how occurrence of various types and forms of corruption affect the possibilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina to fulfill the criteria negotiated by the EU. In order to undertake this exploration the study uses typologies to identify and categorize the various forms of corruption that exist in Bosnia and Herzegovina and theories about the impact of these forms of corruption. After that these forms of corruption are analyzed in relation to their impact on the various political and economic criteria that are set for integration and membership in EU, such as independent justice system and the acceleration of the privatization process. The results show that corruption in Bosnia and Herzegovina represents a major obstacle to several of the criteria set by the EU and thereby integration with EU. Even though that these priorities are told to be set with realistic goals these priorities will be difficult to fulfill with such widespread corruption as in Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

Separatistické tendence v jednotlivých členských státech EU a případný dopad na volný pohyb občanů EU / Separatist tendencies in individual EU Member States and the potential impact on the free movement of persons in the EU

Hřivna, Vít January 2017 (has links)
Separatist tendencies in individual EU Member States and the potential impact on the free movement of persons in the EU This thesis deals with the separatist tendencies within the Member States of the European Union. It is therefore a case when a certain region within a Member State decides to secede from it. This needs to be distinguished from a situation when a whole Member State decides to withdraw from the Union. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the various possible scenarios in the case where there is a separation of that region from the Member State. It deals with it in the context of the regions potential continuity within the Union and furthermore it examines the differences between the two most important cases of possible internal secession in the EU of today: Catalonia and Scotland. The thesis evaluates the most probable scenarios in both cases and the consequent impact of such subjective secession of the regions on citizens and their rights in the EU context, in particular the free movement of persons. The first chapter deals with the definition of separatism and general characteristics of the practical behavior of the regions and the state they secede from in the context of the EU. It looks especially at the relationship between the originar country and the separatist region and...

Migrácia pracovnej sily v kontexte rozšírenej Európy / Migration of labour force in the context of an enlarged Europe

Polačková, Lenka January 2009 (has links)
My thesis deals with intra-EU migration, its motivation factors and then compares the advantages and disadvantages of migration. Free movement of workers is discussed in the next chapter as well as the key mobility drivers and its barriers. The thesis further deals with division of EU member states into receiving and sending countries. Future mobility intentions are analyzed in order to forecast the most probable moves in the future. In its last chapter it mentions labour mobility and ways how to measure it and then it analyses voluntary and forced mobility. In the following part labour mobility is compared to geographical mobility to see their practical implications. The eastern enlargement of the EU has brought some doubts about a massive inflow of labour migrants from the CEE countries to the old member states which has led to the introduction of transitional measures limiting free access to their labour markets. Therefore the main purpose of the thesis is to confirm or refuse the old member states' arguments that a potential migration from the new member states would threaten their labour markets.

Development, present state and prospects of Bulgaria and its position in the European Union / Vývoj, současnost a pespektivy Bulharska a jeho postavení v EU

Vacíková, Lenka January 2009 (has links)
This thesis elaborates the character of Bulgarian Republic development over last years in the view of current situation, which is remarkably influenced by the global financial and economic crisis. The core of this thesis is to map the difficult path for Bulgaria's membership in the European Union, its entry into these structures and the subsequent development during the first 3 years of membership. Finally, I review the present position of Bulgaria in the EU and evaluate the overall benefits for Bulgaria joining the European Union and whether the country was able to complete the necessary reforms and deliver on promises, which it made before the accession to the Union.

Na cestě k členství? Vztahy EU a Moldávie po Asociační dohodě / On its way to membership? EU-Moldova relations after the Association Agreement

Kráľová, Diana January 2021 (has links)
The European Union is one of the most significant international actors whose institutional character and specific conduct of foreign policy make it an interesting object of study. It creates robust policies and programmes to frame relations with both the Member States, as well as with neighbouring countries. The European Neighbourhood Policy, and the Eastern Partnership specifically, is one such example. Even though the ENP was formally designed as a policy of non - membership, the communication of the EU's stance tends to refrain from framing it that way. Consequently, this creates a situation in which the neighbouring state continues to aspire to become a member of the EU, despite lack of reform progress, in hope of a "membership delay". The thesis addresses this discrepancy on the example of the relationship between the EU and the Republic of Moldova after the signature of the Association Agreement by interpreting its development and by assessing how the EU uses its normative power to Europeanize Moldova. Keywords Normative power, Europeanization, EU-enlargement, the European Union, the Republic of Moldova

Německá evropská politika na západním Balkánu na příkladu vstupu Chorvatska do EU / Germany's European policy in the Western Balkans on the example of Croatia's accession to the EU

Radalj, Lovorka January 2015 (has links)
The master thesis "Germany's European policy in the Western Balkans on the example of Croatia's accession to the EU" deals with the role of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Europeanisation of the countries of the Western Balkans in order to achieve stability in the region and peaceful resolution of the conflicts. Germany's main objectives in its European Policy in the Western Balkans have been to restore democracy, liberal economic market, rule of law, resolution of the refugee problem, protection of minorities, protection of the human rights and regional cooperation. The stabilisation of the Western Balkan should be achieved by its integration with the West: EU and NATO. Germany is intensively present in the Western Balkans since the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 1990s. Through its active involvement in the crisis of Kosovo, Germany strengthened its leadership role and responsibility within the EU. At the same time it also strengthened its position in the Western Balkans by its political, economic and humanitarian engagement. The focus will be on the description and interpretation of the motives of Germany's involvement in the integration of the Western Balkan in the EU. The aim of the thesis is to interpret the steps Germany took as a strong advocate of the EU- accession by the example of Croatia's...

Determinanty postojů vybraných politických stran zemí EU27 k tureckému rozšíření Unie / Determinants forming attitudes of selected political parties from EU27 countries to the Turkish enlargement of the EU

Hendrych, Radek January 2015 (has links)
The present thesis analyzes possible determinants shaping attitudes of selected relevant political parties from the EU27 Member States to the potential Turkish accession to the European Union. Bilateral relationships between the EU and the Turkish Republic have been evolving multifariously and long-windedly. However, the question of the direct Turkish participation in the EU's project remains unresolved, and still resonates across all stakeholders. The phenomenon of the eventual Turkish joining is a very topical issue. In particular, the views of the political parties on this particular problem are studied, since these subjects operate with an exclusive position in representative democracies. They symbolize the necessary interconnection between the state and society. Moreover, in the context of the eventual EU enlargement to Turkey, they will likely discuss its confirmation in parliamentary procedures, or they will mobilize voters and form their attitudes in the case of ratification referenda. The present thesis distinguishes between two main groups of explanatory variables. In regarding to the accepted theoretical framework, these are supposed to explicate the views of the selected political parties on the eventual Turkish enlargement qualifiedly. Particularly, the ideological and (general)...

Corruption and media freedom in Bulgaria and Romania: different levels of European integration

Marinisheva, Vesela January 2019 (has links)
This research represents a comparative analysis of the Bulgarian and Romanian European Integration in terms of corruption and media freedom. I argue that, however, both states have multiple common grounds to be analyzed together, as is done in the previous academic research, they take rather different paths after their accession in the European Union regarding their progress in fighting corruption and ensuring free media. I analyze why and how this happens through the theoretical lenses of Constructivism on the matters of identity formation, integration, and spread of values. I will present an overview of the IR academic discourse on the topic, then attempting to fill its lapses in the Analysis section. There, I utilize qualitative content analysis on official reports, issued by the European Commission within these 10 years framework of EU membership in order to investigate the research question. I am to interpret the information from these sources and present the four major aspects of the case, leading to the current situation.

Sjögrens syndrom och oral hälsa : En allmän litteraturöversikt / Sjogren´s syndrome and oral health: : A literature study.

Nordén, Boel, Moheb, Sosan January 2023 (has links)
Summary Title: Sjogren´s syndrome and oral health: A literature study.  Background: Sjogren´s syndrome (SS) is a globally prevalent disease affecting 0,5–1% of the population, predominantly middle-aged women.  Aim: The aim of this literature review was to describe the extra- and intraoral clinical signs detected in patients with Sjogren's syndrome.   Method: A general literature study was conducted. Articles published between 2012 and 2022 with clearly discernible information about SS consistent with the objective were included. Results: Studies show that patients with SS can have oral involvement, including oral lichen planus, candida infections and angular cheilitis. Saliva production can be reduced, which causes hyposalivation and increases the risk of dental caries. Swelling of salivary glands, reduced function of the jaw and tooth wear may also occur.   Conclusion: Among the intraoral signs, hyposalivation, oral candidosis and angular cheilitis were mostly common, and for the extraoral signs swelling of the parotid glands was the most common. There was a large variation in clinical signs and it´s important to continue to explore the relationship between SS and oral involvement to improve the diagnosis and treatment for SS of the disease as it is difficult to diagnose.
